  1. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 27, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) next time someone rips on his fielding i'm going to remind them of this series. i hate when people s*** on his defense. there are few better. Nobody really rips his defense but he just does not get the accolades like Keith Hernandez Jr. up at Wrigley.
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 27, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) 63 through 4 for Weaver. Need to keep it up, no 7 pitch innings.
  3. Anderson is unlucky right now but at least Guillen is seeing that he can hit right handed pitching.
  4. After the MLB Network cut in to Konerko they cut in to Uribe getting an RBI. The MLB Network is awesome.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 27, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Another K for Gavin to end the inning too. Beautiful Gavin! Why aren't you at the game? Stay home to watch So You Think You Can Dance? I wish somebody would say that Beckham is at AAA to play third because Ramirez is the SS for the next 5 years and Viciedo is at third at AA. I see this as nothing more than making certain Ramirez can play SS. Now Beckham needs a position.
  6. QUOTE (That funky motion @ May 27, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) They are a new sponsor, so I'm all for it if they keep giving us money. The new TV's they have up there are much nicer now. LG stands for Life's Godd I believe and they are Chinese. Used to be crap not sure about now.
  7. When Weaver was stuggling last year he still embarassed the Sox. At least Weaver is a good pitcher but geez come on, change something up with the approach. It is almost like they concede.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 27, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) Or Nix I'm sure, and he may play. Possibly not Fields either, though I haven't looked it up. The change will get Strawberry Fields Forever as it will Konerko and Dye.
  9. He has never seen Pods or Getz before.......has he? Erv was tough too before Monday.
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 27, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) Gordon Beckham was promoted to Charlotte, they took him out of the game just before it ended. That doesn't make much sense?
  11. Didn't Danks light up the Cape Cod League or was that Beckham. Either way they hit in the wood bat league and if it was Danks maybe he for whatever reason is a better pro player than a college player. Create any stat you want to downplay him. Sizemore and Granderson like to strike out as much as anyone.
  12. Brian Anderson is a better player than Young or Fields.
  13. Nix can be a GG defender Fields is below average and has zero range. Nix appears to be able to play just about every position on the field. Fields can barely play one. Neither has proven to be able to hit consistently at the MLB level. Sox won last night because of defense. It was nice to see. I will not go BEARSOX here but I think Nix deserves a decent shot at some time. I also think Anderson needs to bat 9th and Fields 6th. Fields seems to do better in pressure situations that allow him to swing away as oppossed to the numebr two slot in the order.
  14. If they don't blow Sunday's game they would be 3.5 back. 4.5 back and it is not even June 1st.
  15. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:50 PM) Wait a minute. Not to nitpick here, but that was Getz that caught that, right? And Nix was coming onto the field after the game, from the dugout. So, let me get this right -- when Getz pinch-ran, Ozzie took out the best 2nd baseman on the team, and left in our crappy 3rd baseman/worst fielder? Cool. That was what set me off. See my post on the previous page about Dotel v. Linebrink. Remember Linebrink hurt himself trying to close while Jenks was out last year. That was a miserable experiment. I know closing had nothing to do with him hurting himself.....at least I do not think it did. They have really outplayed the Angels in this series that should have scored 10 runs again tonight. Nice win....
  16. I am really starting to question the ability of Guillen and Cora to manage a game, put guys in position to succeed, and evaluate their personal. Linebrink can not close Dotel has real bad managing yet again.
  17. Fields needs to bat in RBI situations as I think it helps him. Anderson wets the bed in these situations.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) Jenks is under the weather. I think I'd rather have Dotel close. I could not agree more. Dotel seems to be tougher the tougher the situation.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:25 PM) Who has been a less productive offensive player this year? Corky Miller? or Chris Young? They really need to get somebody that is at least servicable.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) a matchup thing? That is what I was thinking. Dotel and Linebrink can both be lights out or get beat depending on the night and team. Maybe Jenks is hurt?
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) paulie is the best in the biz at the pick He really is underrated at that as there can be none better as he doesn't miss.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) That pitch on 3-1 was right down the freaking plate. Guillen or Cooper need to say something.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) I wonder if Linebrink is hurt? 2 straight 8th innings he hasn't been used. I understand Sunday as Linebrink threw two innings Saturday and Dotel had not been used. Maybe it is matchup thing as Dotel can overpower guys.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:11 PM) His first 2 out were great swings. The last 2, not so much. The young hitters need more consistency.......I guess that is the epitome of a young hitter. Anderson and Miller are why this game is even a game.
