QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:57 PM) Why is Hawk b****ing about the night game on getaway day? Thursday is an off day. The White Sox don't play home games during the day for every getaway day. He is holding a grudge from a couple of years ago when the Sox had to travel to KC after playing a night game in LA withouthte day off. He really needs to let things go. He complained about it yesterday as well.

Nix has done more in his limited time this year for this team as Fields and Getz have with much more sporadic time both hitting and with varied positions. No reason why he should not get as good a chance as the other two at this point in time except for who was drafted by the organization.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) Well it will be interesting to see if the Hawks man up tonight or go home a beaten team. Seeing as they do not play until tomorrow nights activity shouldn't really impact them. -
The Blackhaws are getting this way in regard to the puck drop and celebrity shoot-out.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Yeah, it already began. However, Ichiro has made an entire career off that swing so hopefully they forget. Brian Anderson should play every game in center from here until the game ends, and as long as TCQ is out, Pods should be in left. If/when CQ comes back, Pods becomes a very nice backup. Why is eveyone convinced that Pods should be thrown at for using this stance?

Pods with a shot double. You know they will score 3 runs the remainder of this road trip. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) thanks...relief. Hudler on the Angels broadcast was reading his lips to say "I felt something pop." I thought he was done for the season. Isn't Hudler a moron? -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 25, 2009 -> 10:45 PM) Not as serious as originally thought. He's day to day right now, but many think he'll probably hit the 15 day DL. If Lillibridge is the option to bring up, play short a guy. Has Nix gotten into this game? -

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 25, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) wow thats a heavy payroll to have the likes of Freel, Miles, Fontenot and Theriot. ARe they the same person? Are Hoffpauer, Theriot and Fontenot all over 29? Do they have anyone under 26? Why did the Ice Road Truckers need to add a hot chick? Come on. -

I think Hawk loves Anderson or at least his potential more than anyone. Nice result as it is now 16-3 but I still do not like the first pitch swing by Anderson. This game hopefully erases the memory of that 20-1 game from a couple of years back. Who started that game out at the Big A? -

QUOTE (tommy @ May 25, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) Let me add that we only trade for Figgins if we are still contending. If not, then yes, have Fields play the summer see if he can turn it around, I'm not calling him a bust just yet. Not sure of Figgins' contract status, he would do us great this year tho. Figgins is a free agent and the Angels will not trade him. They will take the draft picks. Figgins could play just about anywhere except for C. -

As bad as Podsednik is, he is the only thing close to a lead off hitter. I am not a fan of Pods and I like Anderson but Getz is worse than Pods right now. I posted in the game thread that the managing of the bottom of the 8th should keep Cora from ever getting a managing job. Fields defense is terrible he has zero range. The fact there is no defensive substitution there is inexcusable. You will never miss Fields bat. -

Ramirez was hitting the ball hard all series and he bunted against the leftie in the 8th with a man on and nobdoy out. Then the leftie K'd Thome walked Konerko to face another leftie, AJ. Terrible managing there. Ramirez never should have bunted. Also Fields is terrible the ball in the 9th was not even hit hard and he had no chance when the tying run scored. Also the three in hitters in the 9th were embarassing. I think we need to realize, this team is just not good. They were out hit 16 to 7. They scored 9 runs in three games. -
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 21, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) The organization was clearly done with Javy V. To get someone like Flowers for him is incredibly impressive. We have a guy who's hitting well enough to justify being put into the 2010 picture. Until any member of that trade is in the team picture it is a bust of a trade considering what is being run out there by the Sox right now related to their rotation. Vazquez only flaw was not living up to the hype.

Peavy was scratched for his start tonight and the Sox listed TBD for tomorrow's game I still hold out some hope that Axelrod basically said to KW and Towers, look this is not an afternoon decision and there still is a back and forth.
-
Shouldn't this process begin with; Towers, "Hang on Ken let me call you back." Towers, "Jake if the Sox can get a deal done, will you go there......no.....what will it take to get you to agree..........ok" Towers, " Ken, Kevin, this is what Jake wants and this what we want.........deal?" Then the process begins. Is this whole thing ass backward or is that just me?

The middle relief for this team is just sad. Jimmy Gobble should have been left out there to die and then put on a bus with Wilson Betemit and sent out of town. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) Nonsense...the Sox sound like they're desperately trying to get Getz to hit the ball on the ground. Hell, even Hawk gets pissed when Getz flies out to the warning track. Ozzie Guillen's remarks regarding Lillibridge is all I needed to know that it is the players that are not listening. -
QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2009 -> 01:29 PM) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Even with Peavy, we still have a ton of holes. I really hope he declines this deal. The Peavy trade makes the large hole much smaller and thereby easier to fill.
