  1. The 1-0 swing by Lexi was embarassing he is lost in this AB which will then not end well.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) Sometimes it does appear they try and be to cute I think it is predictable and scouts know it. Dejesus botches what would have been a really nice play.
  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 5, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) hahahahahahahahah nice pitching, we're gonna get buried in this division, then Kenny Williams will have all the egg on his face that he could ever imagine Or he strikes out Dejesus...geez let's not overblow every game. The real bullpen guys will blow a game one of these days.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) That 0-1 has been a strike all game. Coop was complaining when he pulled Floyd. Has the zone been tight for both teams?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) Crisp has been as good against the Sox in this situation as anyone it seems. I know they paid a nice price to get him but that is the insult to the injury as he was huge in both wins in the opening series.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 5, 2009 -> 06:24 PM) Not as long as Betemit, Allen and Cook are in this organization. You do not replace Thome with Scotty Pods. Who replaced Thome the last time he was out......Brent Lillibridge. Cook????? How many spring training AB's did he get? That shows how close he is. If Thome sits Dye is a better RF than Pods.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 06:21 PM) Pods at DH? WHAT? If he is hitting .300 aqnd getting on at a .375 clip f*** the OPS and rest of the crap he is what they need and DH would be his best spot. I am not saying replace Thome but if THome is injured put him in there. There is enough power from every other spot in the line-up when Anderson is in center.
  8. Pods offense has never really been an issue it is the defense. With the power in the line-up already. Pods at DH makes sense to me. He seems to be more aggresive than when he left.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) Alexei Ramirez with the RBI single. Hey man I predicted a win back on page 2 or 3. I can not let the Baltimore series go I guess.
  10. Well Davies is done and the relievers for the Royals will now take over and shut the Sox down. Especially Tejada whom I assume they have not seen and therefore are unable to touch. Floy'd ERA is about 6 by the way. He has made Contreras looked good.
  11. Samardjia (sp?) could be one of the most overhyped players ever. I remember ESPN wetting themselves over that signing.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) As long as he's in there tomorrow against the pitcher with ridiculous righty/lefty splits last year, that's all that matters. I can't get too mad about this lineup tonight, as it's going to be our starting lineup for the next few weeks. Sorry but Davies embarassed a pretty similar version of this line-up a couple of weeks back. They should just release Betemit.
  13. I think the Sox win 7 -4. Not sure why, I just do.
  14. Scales, Hill, Marshall equal a 3-2 game now. That is the thing that is tiring to Sox fans I believe. You knew the line-up last night would do nothing and it didn't. The cubs are fielding a terrible line-up and Lincecum is at 75 pitches at least through 5 and they will need to go to the pen in the 7th. Not that it mattered last night as Juan Cruz and Soria would've shut them down but this the frustrating thing. The cubs have a propensity of coming back after hanging around. The Sox have a propensity of sitting around and watching the other team win.
  15. Funny Lou is giving today's game away as five starters are sitting. Their line up is as bad as the Sox last night and they are facing Lincecum. 3-1 top 4 their hang around and then pinch hit with the regulars later in the game and win at the end.
  16. The problem with Walker and the Sox offense is that adjustments if made are temporary (one game or half of game) and there are no adjustments made through the game based on what pitchers are doing. I am not part of the team so I could be 100% wrong but it appearsto me that if a pitcher can pitch to a scouting report and stay with it, the Sox will struggle. Adam Eaton and Cyasaurus should not shut the White Sox down. Also any mediocore bullpen pitcher seems to be able to impose their will on the Sox quite regularily, I know not every game but on a regular basis, I use Baltimore as a good example of this.
  17. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:38 AM) The Sox will get less than 5 hits, 7 total base runners and maybe a run. Better get Davies tomorrow. Missed it by a hit.
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:26 PM) Over/Under on a complete game, shutout for Greinke? -180 I really wanted to play against this team this whole road trip.
  19. Colon has looked fine tonight. The Pods show and the fact that the offense is worthless doesn't allow for any error. This team really has no fight in them and are really hard to watch. This game I understand the past weekend, not so much. Lillibridge makes me question KW as he has no clue on how to hit.......bring up Kroger. I wish somebody would ask what Betemit's role on this team is. Anderson couldn't get playing time becasue his bat was substandard...Betemit because his glove is.......Pods and Lillibridge do get to play and they do nothing good. Seems like Guillen is giving KW the big f*** you for giving him this s***.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 4, 2009 -> 09:01 AM) Obviously, if he couldn't make the Reds, chances are he wouldn't have made the White Sox. The big change is that Abreu would most likely be in RF. He had been having a decent year offensively last time I check, stealing a lot of bases. The Reds rotation is deeper than the White Sox.
  21. The Sox will get less than 5 hits, 7 total base runners and maybe a run.
  22. I am in the midst of a a family party looked at he score and the first thing I thought of is the Rangers starters who suck have shut the Sox out for all three games almostas bad as Toronto last year. Sorry time to can Greg walker.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:20 PM) Maybe we'll actually play as many lefties as possible against him this game. Betemit better get some playing time this coming week with all the righties we'll face. But Josh Fields is just too awesome in the two hole to sit.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) Just see the awesome stats Kalapse posted about how much we've struggled against starting pitching this season. Should be fun to face Greinke and Galarraga next week. Outside of a few outliers every game has been a struggle it seems where are Kalapse's stats?
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) Miles hit over .300 in a lot of at bats last season. To say he sucks would be false, in my opinion. cubs don't offer the protection the cards did in the lineup last year. cubs fans I know are not happy with him at all.
