  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 10:37 AM) Looking at this Dodgers series, I think we should tinker the pitching staff a little bit. Contreras had probably the worst outing of his career vs. the Cubs on Saturday, why let him face them again? As the rotation stands right now. Buehrle pitches on Tuesday. Floyd on Wednesday, and Danks on Thursday. I'm thinking we should pitch Contreras on Thursday because of the day off today. Contreras would face a non-potent Dodgers offense and Danks will once again pitch against the Cubs. Hopefully, Ozzie leaves him in longer this time. Just my 2 cents, Contreras could be dominant on Friday, but I'd like to see Danks in there instead. I agree 100%. It makes to much sense to actually do though.
  2. Crede and Anderson have had worse at-bats than Danks today. Crede is unable to hit LHP for some reason and Anderson has been given a great opportunity and is unable to take advantage of it. Yesterday and today have been terrible for him.
  3. Bet Wise or Ramirez are in center tomorrow and Sunday and in LA.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) good job Danks. Pitcher spot to leadoff next inning, let's hope it's not Lily because the Sox drive him from the game here! Probably won't be anyway. The numbers on the Sox pen are good. Lou can't wait until late in the game.
  5. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) Ask and ye shall receive. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/aggreg...ng&type=reg Thanks, I guess, that is ugly. You see why the Cards and Twins are hanging in there. The Pirates?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) Those "Late game dramatics" we keep seeing from the Cubs have happened against teams that don't have Linebrink, Jenks, Thor, Dotel, Logan, and Masset waiting on them. Compare what they did to the Colorado pen and what he Sox did. For some reason late games at home treat the cubs just fine.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) I'd like to get a 2 out hit with RISP today guys. Think we have had 3 shots in 4 innings. Yep Anderson, Crede and Dye. What is the Sox average with 2 out RISP as compared to the rest of the league? cub took advantage of their one opportunity Sox are blowing their's.
  8. Gotta admit the cubs are very selective, can work the count and seem to understand what a pitcher is doing and how to exploit it.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) 68 pitches for Lilly through 4. That inning gave him a shot at going 6. He attacked the last two hitters to conserve his pitch count good veteran approach. The next inning is huge as they needot work him over. Come on Danks.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) I was gonna post that I don't see a hole in Fukudome's swing, than Danksy K's him on 3 pitches. Fukodome is a really poor man's Ichiro. He is not nearly the hitter. I think teams will learn to get him out at a greater clip. In three years Ramirez will prove to be a better pick-up for the Sox.
  11. Crede not showing anything today. Need better at-bats.
  12. Stone says that Lilly is going to get pounded if he keeps the ball up. C'mon Nick
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) Nice play by Q. I really hope Danks can get a couple 1-2-3 innings, because he's already given up 4 hits and I bet his PC is at about 35. As long as he can go 5.1-6, we'll be fine. The bullpen is as fresh as possible and every guy should be able to go all three games. Maybe Dotel only one inning either today or tomorrow.
  14. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) Both Crede and Anderson chase the high crap Lilly is throwing. Yep he seems to be a tad wild and where the cubs worked the count to their advantage Crede and Anderson gave them a break.
  15. Head high fastball................come on Anderson I really want to root for you. Jsut a-lot of bad at-bats for him.
  16. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) He was on a radio show and a caller asked if they would make a move for Dunn by the deadline and Ricardi said something along the lines of "I don't want players here who are lazy and dont work hard, if I were to trade for Adam Dunn you'd be a disappointed fan.: He could be the dumbest GM in all of baseball Minaya is a close second
