  1. Lead-off Pablo and put him at third and Cabrera at 9. Then bat Swisher third, Dye 4th and Konerko 5th. Thome gets to bat 7th after A.J and Uribe 8th. There is a part of me that would like to see Uribe lead-off today for s***s and giggles.
  2. When scoring three runs or less 2-15 When scoring two runs or less 1-12 When scoring a run or less 0-8 When not scoring a run 0-4 The sad thing is outside of the 13-1 loss to Minnesota the average runs allowed in these games. Total runs not earned runs, total runs is 3.5. Including the Min debalce 4 runs. average. Of the 17 games in which they have scored threee runs or less Carmona, Marcum and Halladay are the only legitimate pitchers.
  3. This is a forum dedicated to just White Sox baseball. How many different topics could there really be? The essence of the board is to beat a topic into the ground. Then of course there are the 25+page Catch-all threads that have the new stuff that is not deemed new thread worthy.
  4. Here is the reason why this season can be mailed in and I was optimistic going into the year This offense is not going to flip the switch. Every pitcher does the same thing and there is no deviating from that. Every game is the same whether left or right handed the pitcher may be. Stay away with junk after throwing a first ball fastball strike up in the zone. That beats every hitter on this team. Once in a while they will run into a hanger. Orlando Cabrera is an embarrassment right now. His comments in the paper show what a weak person he is. The leader they thought they were getting is nowhere to be found and will not net the two draft picks that they hoped for. Nick Swisher, Jim Thome and Paul Konerko are shells of the players they used to be. Uribe and Crede also proving to be a tad under average major leaguers. Quintin is a lone bright spot as A.J. and Dye are above average guys that can help a team win. The philosophy of hitting has not changed in two years and everyone in baseball has figured it out. These hitters are not goignot change and the team is suseptible from 1 through 9 to the same pattern of pitching.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 13, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) I believe so. I've thought the last few games Juan's been looking better....at least more disciplined. I am not a Uribe fan but he seems to be a gamer. Joe........seems to run into one once in a while.
  6. Is there really that much of a difference in Juan Uribe and Joe Crede? It's late...I am really leaving now although I will ponder that question.
  7. Just got in. Tonight looks like the 10th pitcher this season to embarass the Sox. I used to list them but I am not that good of a typist. I'll read the thread in the morning. Sad, I used to stay up and watch these games..... The cubs lost to estes.
  8. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) Anybody notice in that Kanny box score that Delmarva's second baseman committed 3 errors and has 23 on the season? That is Steve Sax's kid.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) YOU SUCK ORLANDO CABRERA! Taken from the game thread; To repeat myself, he is a whiny b**** who does nothing that he was brought in to do. He has no fire or leadership skill. Maybe Edgar was right. "It's too cold and I miss my friends," what a dickhead.
  10. QUOTE (aprec32 @ May 13, 2008 -> 12:30 PM) This came from whitesox.com Tidbits Shortstop Orlando Cabrera received his trophy for winning the 2007 Rawlings Gold Glove prior to Monday's series opener. It was presented by Angels manager Mike Scioscia and was accompanied by a standing ovation from the Halos faithful. "I didn't think I was ever going to say this before, but I really miss the place," said Cabrera of Anaheim. "I really miss my ex-teammates. Those guys were great to me. The fans here are probably the best fans in baseball right now. I really miss it. Slowly, I'm making the transition to Chicago." Found this somewhat interesting.......... I am really starting to hate that little pri........ Sorry if that is harsh but grow the f' up and be a man. How many years was he in L.A.....3? Come on. So much for the competive fire he was to bring, sounds like a whiny little b**** to me. Hurry the f*** up on transition before the season is over. What a douche. God I hate him
  11. Orlando Cabrera had a worse game than Mark Buerhle and as bad a night at he plate as player could have. In 3 at-bats he stranded 8 runners. For a guy that is supposed to be able to handle the bat, that is his worst trait.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2008 -> 11:36 PM) Terrible article by a terrible writer. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...2.column?page=2 What is wrong with the article? I believe Downey is a Sox backer and the Trib is a whole lot more pro-Sox than the times and their writers seem to be 50/50 with Rogers and Sullivan heavily backing the cub. He seemed right on the money, just read this board.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2008 -> 12:33 AM) Maybe it's because of an article like this: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...,5112032.column The reality is that he White Sox are eeking their way through the schedule as I posted in thh MLB thread, while the cubs can feast on an inferior league with teams that should not exist. While I think the teams on paper match up well the divisions and league that they are in make the reality of their situations polar opposites.
  14. LA is making Buerhle work. The Sox are swinging way to early in the count. No pitch recognition.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2008 -> 07:25 PM) As. Cabrera just turned an unassisted triple play vs the Blue Jays. Indians are on the verge of a 4 game sweep vs the Blue Jays....thanks for nothing Toronto! This is the thing that kills about that series as the Blue Jays were handed those games. Later in the summer when everyone is b****ing and moaning because the Sox are playing Boston and New York while Minnesota and Cleveland are playing Texas and Baltimore there will be nobody to blame. Pissing away games as this team has done will haunt them for the remainder of the year. The Twins have owned Boston over the weekend. The Sox seem to struggle in evey series. If the AL Central is good, the Sox have no chance as they will hang around .500 all season. Cleveland seems to be getting going. The Sox are now not scoring late any longer and have completely stagnated.
  16. QUOTE (G&T @ May 12, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) I thought that last year. Things didn't turn out so well. I have come to the realization that the opponent does not matter to the White Sox. I do not know how to explain it. They are such rhythem type of team that their mindset seems to set the tone for a game / streak.
  17. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ May 12, 2008 -> 07:25 PM) Thank God I have marcum on my fantasy team! I read somewhere that TOR had something like 81 uns in their 16 games with Frank Thomas and only 53 in the same # of games without him I still can not get over the fact they gave away Thomas and Reed Johnson.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2008 -> 07:15 PM) You know, it's too bad we didn't trade for Josh Hamilton instead of Nick Swisher. Where is our Edison Voloquez?
  19. QUOTE (Linnwood @ May 9, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) Per Cowley: Swisher out of the lineup, Brian Anderson is in. A tear just came to my eye. Now give Konerko tomorrow off and Thome Sunday so Anderson can make some plays.
  20. or not The middle of that order is so much more dangerous than the Sox.
  21. I think the guys in 9th stack up nicely against Wood if Cruz can hold them.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) Was it a 3-2 pitch to Byrnes? Yes - again Gameday was all over the place though
  23. Eric Byrnes sucks. I only saw the Gamecast what actually happened there?
  24. Justin Upton making Ted Lilly look great today. Already with the hat trick and Marmol will give him the golden sombrero later.
