  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:46 PM) sox flashing leather I was actully working there for a couple of minutes what happened on the 'D' side?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:36 PM) And Just as I say that, Joe works a 3-1 count and drives in a run. Joe Crede > the 2 rapid swingers in front of him right now. I agree but at least they seemed to have hit the ball hard. Infield pop-up dropped by the A's very unOaklandlike.
  3. Effectively wild gets the looking K there. Steve Stone tells us how to change speeds, I always wondered that BTW. Buck with a White Soxesque first swing dribbler to second. Nice inning after all.
  4. Should Ozuna have gotten that? Kind of sounded like it on the radio.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:20 PM) hawks favorite players of all time: carl yaztremski, george brett, nick swisher Ozuna needs to have a better AB there. Hawks favorite player is Sam McDowell BTW
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Cansequito. What does that mean?
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) i wonder if quentin will bunt... In the 7th last night with guys on 1st and 3rd the A's had the shift and Swisher had a 40'lead from third. If Thome bunted it was a guaranteed hit and a run. Quintin that is how you look for a pitch and DO NOT miss it. Nice. Alexi Ramirez just hurt himself and Suzuki swinging the bat. Could we maybe see Brian Anderson...... Why did Ramirez not take a f'ing pitch.....
  8. Borowski on the DL. Sorry if posted elsewhere. A's taking a page out of the Sox handbook with an infield popout.
  9. No sure what the story telling on the radio is all about but should Ozuna have gotten that ball and how was the first out recorded?
  10. Two guys work the count nicely. Too bad Ozuna and Hall couldn't do anything. Pitcher with possible blister problems..... OK DYe look for a pitch and hit it HARD or work the count
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) The Sox are doing him and the team such a disservice by having him on the major league roster. There is no need for him on this team and Anderson at this time and the need of a LH bat on the bench is huge. Pablo works count well..... Hall is so f'ing terrible it is sickening, infield pop out, great job douchebag. 2 hitters, 3 pitches sighhhhhh.
  12. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) Chicago is already batting .250 as a team! i can't stand these 2-1, 1-0 games. the offense MUST wake up. Relax, Toby Hall will be batting shortly.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) Not saying he sucks just saying if your talking about the best defensive team you don't put Ozuna and Ramires both in the infield together. Last night's offense was lingering when I posted that and was just hoping to get a different set of guys against the soft tossing leftie.
  14. Brian Anderson was seen kicking Guillen's dog this morning. Why not put the best defensive outfield out there you can and DH Dye? Crede in the 5 hole after not doing anything against the same type of pitcher he struggles against???????? I'd have liked to see Ozuna at third, Ramirez at second and Anderson in CF. Having sat through last night's game the pathetic offensive display by certain guys is still lingering I guess.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) Another point on Ehren/MMac...so far, in the first 2+ weeks of the season, I've counted basically 1 game where I said "you know, this is a point where Ehren would be real useful", about 2 weekends ago against Detroit where Linebrink, Dotel, and Jenks had all pitched the 2 days beforehand and could probably have used the day off, so one more trusted righty reliever would have been useful But, thankfully, Liney et al. came in and did their job, and a rain out, a couple grand slams, and a long relief job by Masset have kept us from hitting that point again, and we won't reach it again tonight or tomorrow because they didn't pitch last night. In other words, only once in the first 14 games will it have mattered at all which guy we had up. Otherwise, it's entirely been a question of which guy we'd throw in for a junk inning or two in a game where one of the two teams has taken over. And even in that game, it didn't matter because the guys we have did their jobs anyway. Maybe Ehren would be a better pitcher right now than MMac. But with the way our team is running right now, it hasn't made one bit of difference. The thing is McDougal hasn't looked good, like last night for instance. A nice quick inning would've helped yet the umpire jobbed him in his mind. If you are nowhere near the strike zone, the umpire is not going to give you the benefit of the doubt. See Jose Contrearas.
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) I dont know if it was the weather but at last nights game there was a large percentage of a-hole fans at the game,more than usual.There was a small group of Oakland fans that were about 15 years old holding signs up for the A's.People were cursing and heckling them the whole game.I have a problem with that,its not like they were rubbing it in our face that they were there in our territory trying to mock our team.They were just some kids cheering for their team while they ate their dippin dots and we have all these meathead fans that wouldnt let them hear the end of it.It was pitiful to see as a sox fan. Welcome to "Value Mondays" also known as half price night. Save $12 on a ticket and buy 5 beers at $32...... You see what you are getting on "Value Mondays".
