QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) Let's see how Kansas City handles the slippery, slick free tundra that is the Kansas City outfield. You would think that it's impossible to clearly field a ground ball out there. Let's just see how they'll players handle it. Pop ups on the infield and flailing away to get home seems in order. Guillen has no clue on what to do with the bullpen. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) AJP has to be the worst defensive catcher in baseball. Nice pitch there. AJ is a hitting machine. -

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) That wasn't Macko. He's in RF. I know. How did this alignment come about? Hawk is blowing the Royals they are 6-13 and not good and haven't been for god sake. -

Am I stupid, but what happened to Mackowiak? How f***ing hard is it to play the outfield? Any chance of rescinding the Thorton contract? Is that 4 blown holds/save opportunities? -

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:45 AM) Ah my favorite writer Joe Posnanski... I wonder how much better the KC pen would have been with MacDougal and Sisco still coming out of it? How about Ambrose Burgouix or something like that. -

I honestly do not think Guillen understands that a PH does not have to bat. He never does the double pH switch. This game is poorly managed by Guillen. -

Sisco is our 5th best reliever. This game is all on Guillen and his horses*** use of the bullpen. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) In all reality this is what should happen. The game should end Whitesox 9 - Royals 2. The whitesox should be held to 4 runs over 6 by Meche. Then the Royals bullpen comes into the game, and bombs away. Except hte White Sox have never see the guys in the KC bullpen except Riske and therefore it falls to the old never seen him before Cy Youngification of an ordinary pitcher. Hawk, "The Royals got some good young arms out there in that bullpen." Sweeney is good for at least 3 RBI tonight as he simply kills Mark Buerhle. These are not overly negative facts, these are proven points. -
When McCarthy showed he wasn't going to be an effective reliever they should have sent him down to get more work in. The cubs have doen this with Angel Guzman as they intend on streching him out and having him replace Miller very soon. Why not do this with Anderson for a week or two to get him at-bats rather than have him rot away until Erstad is injured and then he is forced into action cold and uninterested.

I am to lazy to look but who was the jouryman 2B that is at AAA.

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) The main thing I see is that Ozzie sets up young guys to fail, not succeed. Why else would he throw a young situational lefty out there against RH batters in an extra inning tie game? Because they (Oz/KW) wanted an excuse to send Logan down to AAA. Masset looked gassed and it was he v. Granderson or Logan v. a PH. When Logan walked the first batter he killed their chances as he would've walked Polanco to get to Infante/Ph. The pen needed a day.

There really is no such thing as the Sunday line-up anymore. Our bench players are much better than those that formed the old "Sunday line-up". -
Simply amazing what a good bullpen can do. Erstad good.....couple of bleeders. The steal attempt was stupid Seay threw over there 5 times. Thome trying to score was idiodic the play was in front of him. 4 through 7 were sad and looked pretty sick. Pitching is everything. Too bad we couldn't have only give up a run and saved the pen. McDougal, Jenks Thorton all pitched two days in a row (two of themn only to one batter though). Hopeful we can hit a guy with a 1.8 ERA and has dominated in the past. Line-up should be interesting.
