He is not selling. It would be akin to winning the lottery and taking the single payout losing 75% of the value once he passes it to his kids . Only reason he would sell is if his other business ventures lost money and could offset the tax hit or they needed the cash. He doesn't have business ventures that are losing hundreds of millions of dollars and the budgeting of the Bulls and Sox add whatever excess cash flow is needed .

What if they are "dragging their feet" because the accusations are unfounded? -

and you can't just do a blank request you have to know what you are looking for ahead of time. -

I will agree with that but the case against him isn't any stronger based on her revelations today. I think if my child had to be tested for parasites due to drinking raw goat's milk I'd have an issue with her upbringing and will have to side with Mike on this. I can also see health insurance denying this procedures and potential coverage. If he is denying adding the child to health insurance that is just stupid as there is no benefit to him for this. Mike also cannot provide her health insurance coverage just because she is the baby's mother....and why he does not need to provide for her chiropractic visits. -
What has been done to the NCAA playoff system is a disgrace they should just go back to ties.

The whole JR carrot thing becomes more and more real each year it proves to be reality.

Partial plan people are the White Sox lifers that are looking to lock in on their games and seats. Price isn't as big an issue. I get them to guarantee Opening day, go to 10-20 games and then there are playoff options.

This is turning into an Abbott and Costello routine. Look at last years lowest attended game (probably early April) and subtract 1% and that is your season ticket base.

The only thing keeping them from AH is the $2B city paid renovation of the lake front which includes access to I 55 and LSD more smoothly and moving public transit into the complex. My hope is that this brings an end to the lake front old McCormick place building and a casino included in there. My lord the city has messed the casino project up.

Depends on what is given to Khan in a Soldier Field rebuild. Stop thinking of it is Jacksonville. It is an entity that it is one of 32 NFL football franchises and what Khan and his family is looking to spend his money on. The "fans" in LA cannot support one football team yet now they have two. You build two billion dollars project over the next 8 years...which thrives Arlington Heights or Chicago? As far as football goes, Soldier Field would be filled with visiting team's fans looking to enjoy the city....at least until mid-December
-
LA has shown you don't yet fans to back the team, just the owners and the NFL. The Bears get Arlington - Khan gets Soldier Field and a EPL game comes to the U.S.

I stated that it appears that they are trending away from being cheap. But one year ago they went with the same plan on GM and head coach and until recently they were run by their team accountant and life long employee. So I am not ready just yet to say that they team is going to be in on financing potential $1B plus deals. Maybe this is all Pat Ryan's doing and his move to own the team some day. If so then it all makes sense.

Warren was the first time I would agree with you. Poles and Eberflus may work out but there is no history to dictate that. The fact that Ted Phillips was running that franchise with a McCaskey was laughable and no way indicative of a professionally sports run franchise. Other than Angelo and Lovie, I always felt their GM and coach had no authority in building a franchise. Maybe Warren does but he also could be a short term guy if Goddell moves on. Maybe the McCaskey family sold off shares and now have a more functioning organization with a real Board that is making these decisions

That's pure Jerry's money

You are right when it comes to player salaries as there is a cap that they need to abide by. It has changed in the last 5 years with the enhancements at Lake Forest but non player spending on coaching, staff and other organizational costs always lagged and was a large talking point about coaches building staffs. Warren's hiring appears to signify a change in philosophy so maybe you are right but this is an organization that put nothing into the product and now is going to spend over a billion dollars to take on the risk of Arlington....sorry that I continue to ask this questions especially if the answer is out there. I find it similar to the Chicago mayoral candidates with all their "ideas" but no rational plan to implement. Maybe COVID hammered the cubs in Wrigleyville but their billion dollar investment isn't running as smoothly and this is the Bears plan from what I can tell.
-
The Bears in Arlington will sell out. NFL doesnt give a s%*# about optics they put two teams in LA that nobody wants, If Chicago lines up Khan and the $2B renovation why wouldnt he move. The Bears somehow ponying up a billion dollars seems out of character to me but maybe Virgina is assumed to sell but that appears to be a JR scenario. The Bears are cheaper than the White Sox.

Is there any reporting on how the stadium will be financed? If Chicago does renovate the current Soldier Field and puts a second team there, that would be interesting......or Jacksonville moving into Arlington as well.

Pedro Pascal is an amazing actor. I still see him as the Narcos role as that was a great show and for some reason view him in that role in the End of Us.

You ae 100% correct, the White Sox are very good at pissing away good talent. The loyalty thing seems to go out the window in certain cases and this is one time where I thought it would come into play for the good. My hope is that the White Sox see it clearer and the next agreement is more smooth. My hope is that Jason has exploded and that is the issue here and they need to figure it out. Brooks Boyer seems to have gotten really bad at his job lately.

They have to go with Gordon Beckham because Stone gets a good amount of vacation time. The list of good color commentators is not that long, watch any sport and you soon realize how bad they are. Benetti had a option that the club picked up. Benetti is asking the team to make concessions for him to broadcast other games. The White Sox have to fill these gaps and rework Kasper's deal when he moves to television and find replacements that they have to pay. I do not think Benetti can make as much money doing the national stuff to leave but it makes the White Sox position more difficult when he is missing so much. You would think the White Sox would be more accommodating but they are the White Sox. There is a middle ground here in this discussion other than the White Sox fucked up again. I think Benetti stays as there ae more options doing Sox games than other sports in the spring and summer but I think it is worked out much differently. If Jason needs to miss 20 games that is 12% of the season that is not insignificant. What happens if Jason has a FOX game on a Saturday in September and Sox game the following day and his flight is cancelled? There ae logistical aspects to this other than look at the cheap White Sox again.

Isn't he married to the girl he dated in high school? At this point you'd think the millions of dollars he has earned would outweigh the shrinkage.

At 2:00 it told me sold out....went back in and plenty of seats were available. My guess is that there will plenty for the game.
-
Tickets went on sale at 2:00 I was curious what was out there. Tickets are sold out. Went back in and grabbed two in lower deck for $69 and parking. Why not it's opening day. Sure they will be something like 1-5 and Davis Martin will be pitching but no worse then watching Jon Danks give up 5 in the first in the snow.
