QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) Ump hasn't been calling anything high this afternoon. Changeup isn't looking as good as last time for Danks. Farmer ripping on Fenwick BTW.
-
Tell me about this Danks fellow. Is he better than McCarthy? Easy it's only spring training. The conversations I have in my head.
-
At least it hit it hard

Dye DP WHY DOESN'T PABLO GET THE PROPS HE SHOULD!!!!! Crede would be telling the guy to go back the ball is in the air. I love me some Pablo. 3 out .
-
Taveraz lead-off double. Mike 'Lego' Gallego coaching at third.
-
7 pitch (if that) 3 ground outs Banner start I bet one of the first two Rockies gets on. I do not think we are capable of a 1-2-3 inning.
-
Rooting for Brian Anderson to play centerfield for the 2007 White Sox is like rooting for Ron Santo to make the HOF. Not sure what that means but it made sense to me and sounded good when it popped into my head.

Might as well be a 'B' game without Erstad playing.

5/10 Anyone see on A&E last night the analysis of......oh crap i forgot his name........is was really creepy, killed 100 people. It was an hour long interview with a psychiatrist who then explained to him that his f***ed up childhood was the cause of his mental state. Basically his mom and dad terrorized or ignored him his whole life. I kept flipping from hoops to this.

Gammons on ESPN this morning reported that his velocity dropped way off in the third and fourth innings he pitched and that Papelbon felt this was the best move for him. Of course Pete had on his rose colored glasses telling that they can easily get a 5th starter.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) The gun at the cubs game topped prior out at 94 mph on one of his fatballs. Of course the scout's guns were totally different saying he sat at 84-86 mph and topped at 88-89. Wonder why their gun was so off?? I only saw the Comcat hilights and they were falling all over themselves. I wonder if this was the same gun that clocked Jenks at 111 MPH over the weekend.

Would you make this trade with the Phillies ?
Harry Chappas replied to WHITESOXRANDY's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What do you think Boston would give right now for McDougal..... This would be like asking for Coco Crisp (is he with Boston) and Matt Clement (is he still inbaseball). The Phillies need pen help in the worst way. -
I believe the climate of Arizona rendered all evaluation of Haeger moot. I also am a backer of the conspiracy theory that McCarthy was traded to create and opening for Haegar. The Sox brass knew that Spring Training would not be pretty for him and if they wanted him over McCarthy there would be no justification for it based on numbers if McCarthy pitched well. I think they are taking Charlie's last two years in the minors as his guide post. Should someone outperform these numbers they would get a shot. Thus far Danks and Floyd have come close as well as Russell but they all could use a bit more seasoning in AAA. Haegar is an ideal spot starter/long reliever as he is kind of like a softball pitcher when it comes to the recovery time. The thing I do not like about this situation is that our catchers have no shot of defending against a knuckleball (ie see Boston last year). Also, will Chuck be able to perform in the cold weather..........

Seeing as this thread has gone ot hell in a handbasket I thought I'd do a little vent. Mark Prior is now on his way to the rotation and Cy Young according to Comcast. Well all I saw was he was lucky to get out of the first and third and weather conditions favored the pitcher greatly. Oh well back to Pictionary.

Another walk and Sexson with a hit. I believe the days of Charlie Haegar are just about done. The walks, PB/WP's, and SB's are not conducive to winning. Another hit and another, FO. Is it 8-6 M's? -

AJ seemed to get caught and there wasn't really anything he could have done. Funky play that ended up with the Sox getting a gift run. Haegar with a lead off walk to Bloomquist. Anyone find it troubling that we have had men on second twice and base hits could not get him in. Haegar working on a cutter. Hit and run Bloomquist to third on the base hit. Sac Fly 1-out man on first -

Iguchi and Thome score. Konerko with a double. 5-4 M's......Erstad waved him home as he is now grinding from the thirdbase coaches box -

If Erstad is all that why did nobody offer him more than what Pablo OZuna will make this year. Thome Walks. First and second nobody out. -

QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Probably when he was part of a championship team, an all star and earned his 2 GG's. Funny though, BA is a god after having a less than average second half of a season, but imporved from his first half season. I agree with you but spring training has shown that he is not this player any longer. If he is allowed to play center, left and first on occasion it is a nice pick up. Iguchi with a hit. -

Our catchers have trouble handling non-knuckle ball pitchers and have no chance against knucklers. PB takes away the DP that would have been and run scores. Reed K's M's with a pair 5-2. -

Haegar not really looking like somebody that wants to make the major league team. -

Dye 1 pitch DP inning over. I really think this team is f***ed if (1) Iguchi isn't batting second and (2) Anderson is not in center. When did Darin Erstad become a god? He is having a spring that resembles his career. The whole situation confuses me. As you can see from my earlier post I confuse rather easily. Morse up. Haegar in. Morse homers on the second pitch. -

Farmer likes Danks and Anderson to make the team..... QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) Farmer likes Danks and Anderson to make the team..... Oh wait..if the guy isn't going to pitch every 5th day he should go to AAA. I am a tad confused. -

Ed Farmer prior to the commercial break- "Rain Delay should blow through rather quickly." After the break - "Rain Delay and we are going ot be here a while as it is coming down rather hard." We won't confuse Ed Farmer with Jim Tilmon won't we.
