  1. Come back here Thursday and you may be able to see soon enough.
  2. He has had a sore should per Cooper on the radio and is now available.
  3. My guess 5-1 Tigers. 2-0 after 1 - 4-1 after 5 - 5-1 after 7...... Gotta go sit in the car for an hour and a half, hope I'm wrong.
  4. This was brought up earlier in a conversation about my hatred, yes hatred, toward podsednik. A platoon of Shannon Stewart and podsednik.........if both are healthy, I like this.
  5. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) The pressure will not let up the rest of the year. I am worried we will need to take the final three vs. Min to get into the playoffs. Realistically no it is not. 16 (3 v. TB, KC and Sea and 7 v. Clev are all winnable no tipping the cap bulls***). We need to go 11-5 here. of the 21 remaining 15 are on the road so we go 7-8 in these and 4-2 at home = 11-10 Is 21-15 enough to make the playoffs?????
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) God Damnit, DO NOT START THE KID'S ARBITRATION CLOCK! WE HAVE NO SPOT FOR HIM UNTIL 08! AND HE'LL SPEND MOST OF NEXT YEAR IN THE MINORS ANYWAY!!! ARGH! The one good bit of news is that might keep Mack out of CF. But the cost of starting Sweeney's arb clock this early is pretty damn high, IMO. I thought the expansion of the rosters to 40 man for September call-ups did not begin the arbitration clock??? Am I wrong?
  7. Brandon McCathy has thrown 3 innings the last two weeks. Is it possible that he is being streched out on the side for a spot start? Depending on what happens the next two days, Thursdays game could have very little meaning as compared to this weekend. Could Garland get pushed back to Friday and McCarthy pitch Thursday and either push everyone back a day or skip Contrearas or Vazquez to give them an extra day. Our starters look gassed right now. Would a 6 man rotation be that bad? Tracey can come up for Ozuna to get another bullpen arm until rosters expand. I am just curious as to why Cotts has actually pitched 3 of the last 4 games and he has not looked good for sometime.
  8. Our best hitter is batting fifth. Our worst hitter is batting first. Our two best defensive players didn't have to pay to watch the game. Our best reliever pitched to three batters in the 6th inning. Need I go on.
  9. What I believe we are seeing is that this team is unable to sustain a level of excellence great enough to ease the fans fears. Everyone is still of the mindset that this organization as failed before and will continue to fail. Last season is not the norm and is the excuse for why we will fail this year. When Detroit was one of the worst teams in baseball history, they kept us out of the playoffs. Now just when it looked like we had turned a corner, a team that was 15-42 on the road took 2 of the last 3. We are waiting for the next 3-12 run which put us behind the 8 ball a month ago. In reality, Detorit is looking very beatable now and we are not taking advantage of it. The next 7 days should have playoff intensity. I would be nice if Pods and Uribe could get into a hot streak along with the rotation.
  10. There are two problems with this team. 1) Vazquez seems to break up any type of roll. See KC game two and yesterday. 2) Pods is unable to contribute on a daily basis. He is basically a platoon player. Not to mention we got rid of gascan Cliff for gascan Neil. Both games were winnable, not saying we would have won but a 1 run deficit with two to play and two run deficit going to the 9th would've given hope at least. Also I thought Uribe may have run into one in 8th.
  11. The conversation all of the time is that most players are put on waivers. How do we not know if these players have already been put on waivers. Could Milledge be a PTBNL? I do not think so but was just asking.
  12. Here's the thing next weekend the matchups will likely be Radke - Vazquez Santana - Contrearas Silva - Buerhle 2-4 could be very likely aginst the Twins. Radke didn't really get beat by the Sox more than the Twins defense. At some point they need to hit Radke and Santana.
  13. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) Just a follow-up. ESPN has also disabled all programming for the weekend for this epic series. Only all 5 games, replays of such games, Special analysis of the games on Sportscenter will be the only things shown this weekend. ESPN is covering the game itself. ESPN2 is having three screen coverage consisting of the game and each dugout. ESPNNews is having instant in game analysis with the Baseball Tonight crew. ESPN Desportes has live open Mic of Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz who have agreed to speak Spanish for the entire series regardless of the questions or other conversation dialect. ESPNHD has figure skating and womens tennis all weekend.
  14. This is as much Texas than Anaheim. This should serve as the White Sox case against both clubs.
  15. Scott Podsednik has the least amount of baseball skill as any player I have every seen. I wish I could add something tangible to this thread other than this but sorry I can't.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 15, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) I was suprised as well. Isnt the price just doubled or something from the regular season? How does it work? $45 for WC $70 for ALCS $140 for WS Thank MLB. You pay for every possible seat and game. I love hitting the bandwagon fans. Note you do not lose the opportunity to purchase your plan next year, you lose your seat location. This hits those that will not renew if they do not make and/or go deep in the playoffs. I like it. I have my seats for every game.
  17. Dye (hitting and fielding), AJ and Crede were the reason we lost that game. Not one of them hit the ball hard off Hernandez. The Cora play was bad because Konerko was coming up. Being aggresive against good pitching or with bad hitting match ups is one thing. Running out of an inning with your number 4 coming up, who hit the ball hard off Hernandez is dumb and inexcusable. Cora has one thing to do on his own, stop and send guys at third. Last night he failed miserably. Iguchi not moving the guy over in the first and swinging from his heels and the Cora play are signs of a team that was to cocky last night. Riske showed why we should've swept. The Royals on the road are not that good. He did a great job although I thought he was over extended and was going to get hit in the 8th. Nice job. Pods striking out looking at two fastballs was terrible but I expect nothing more from him. He do drive in a run and get a double, why he did not try and steal third........ The Sox also did not make Hernandez get the ball over. I would love to see how many called strikes (sans Pods) to swinging strikes there were. That was one of the worst games of the year. Win the next two and I'm fine.
  18. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 15, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) As much as I would like to wipe away Jon's first two months, we needed those games as much as we need these ones. If he gets his ERA down to 4.75 I will consider the season a success How many losses did he have in those games? Has Jon Garland ever missed a start? To me that more than makes up for an ERA of 5.00. How many games would Haegar have won if Jon missed starts. Ask anyone on the northside or Boston how important a healthy pitcher with an ERA of 5 is. How many pitchers of Garland's age have more wins.
  19. For anyone listening to Hawk and DJ, is Pods in between right now or just bad??? Joe that was bad. Juan that was worse.
  20. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Jon with 52 pitches thru 5. YAY BULLPEN REST NITE If it gets to a 10 run lead, Riske and Cotts will get in. IF jon hits 100 pitches.
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) OK Jon, I do believe your ERA is under 5 now. 4.98 Pull 'em to keep the confidence up.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) I suppose this is enough of a cushion to put Gload in RF... or Mack in center Nice DP, that's a gem at how smooth it went.
  23. "Snowman goes up on that board." That's a good one.
