Let's see the Red Sox lost their Captain and catcher for possibly the rest of the season have a rotation that is getting hit pretty good and needed two miracles to beat Cleveland lost 3 of 4 at home to the A's.. The Twins were just crushed at home by Texas and lost their top pitcher for at least two weeks, Johan has been hit recently, Radke and Silva are shells of themselves and they have a carousel at #5 starter. The Yanks are good but they have holes at the end of their rotation and in their middle bullpen. Toronto is in the midst of a streak that we were in and they have a tough road the rest of the way. Then there are the White Sox. 2 of these teams (assuming Det is a lock which I can not decide on) will make the playoffs. I like the White Sox chances......if they play better and I think they will.

Get the ball and throw it. I am not sure if it will happen tonight but he will find "it" and he will roll the rest of the way. Let's just hope he finds "it" rather soon. I believe the umpiring will be the deciding factor. If he is getting the corners and getting guys to beat the ball into the ground, we'll walk away with a nice victory 6-1. If not we will lose 7-4.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) I wouldn't count Rogers as useless quite yet. His recent history has this as the norm. He is on the wrong side of 40.

Funny that Anderson isn't in the lineup against a guy he should pound...... -
Anybody Else Getting Burned on this Grinder Party Thing?

I just got back. It was pretty cool. The weather sucked so you couldn't go on the field so that really blew because that was what I wanted to do. Got another picturewith the trophy. Good food ,beer , etc. IT WAS REALLY CROWDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Why don't you guys let me help you avoid the aggravation by having you guys hand over all your tix to me. I have two for tomorrow if you can make your way to Beverly. I also have two at Will Call PM me. -
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:15 PM) If someone's watching the game let us know how many times Hawk or DJ say "this is the best we've ever seen Silva" or something like that when we have no runs through 5 "He's got the sinker workin."

I think Ozzie is not having a very good year. It seems every decision he makes is wrong. First off, why are AJ and Pods basically platoon players? There is an off day tomorrow and a win or two would be nice. He was being a smart ass when he said he hoped someone other than Garland could get a win. We are pretty close to that being the case again. Our only lefty in the lineup had two hits. Pablo Ozuna should not play they outfield, EVER. He should have caught the threee run homer. I was 100 feet away, I know. The attempt to get everyone into the lineup is killing any continuity for the hitters to get into a groove. On the flip side I think the lack of using the bullpen is killing the starters and the bullpen due to lack of work. When was the last time McCarthy or Jenks pitched? Every reliever seems to pitch about once every three days. I think guys are losing the feel in the bullpen. Why can't a starter come out after 5 or 6 innings every other team does it. Ozzie Guillen is becoming like Tony LaRussa in one regard, he knows eveything there is to know about baseball and nobody else knows spiff, just ask him.
-
Soriano and Uribe for A-Rod??????????
-
I hope McCarthy is warming in bottom of the 5th assuming Vazquez makes it that far.
-
Pablo Ozuna should not start. Thome should not be removed with one out and a man on first in the 8th. Jenks should pitch to start an inning and go only one inning. We have popped out on teh infield 14 times in the last two games. Gload should play left and leadoff tomorrow. Good Night and God Bless. Go Sox.

QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 09:40 AM) He's hitting .378 in July. .212 on the season. Rowand is hitting .212 in July. Sorry Sox will go 9-3 in their next 12.
-
Sorry if for some reason I am optimistic but I am. I really think the Sox will only lose once on this home stand as they miss Liriano, Millwood and that lefty that schooled them. I think Buerhle and Garcia will look good and the the Detroit series well, the pitching did their job. I expect Thome to be heard from and my most hated player Pods to get rolling. I think this is the Anderson we will see for the next 7 years and Rowand will be a memory, he is hitting .212 in July by the way. I believe the bullpen is ready and Vazquez is going to get hot. 12-3 going into Toronto. Christ we have the second best record in the game and have not played to our potential. I am sorry but the Twins and Tigers offense is not good enough. Good Day.

Sox v. Tigers, Gamethread: Contreras v. Rogers, 12:05

The problem with Widger is magnified by the fact Ozuna is not doing anything. -

If the Ozuna that takes pitches and hits to right shows up we'll win. Anyone know the lineup that was no hit after the 2nd inning???? Were Widger and Ozuna in it? -
Brian Anderson is 24 years old and there are plenty of off days the rest of the way. He should not get a day off until his average drops below .180
-
Winning only one would not temper anything and cause more upheaval among the masses but I honestly would be content with this. We would then need to get going at home losses of 4-2, 3-1 and then a 6-1 win somewhere in the series is about what I am thinking. The important thing is for Vazquez to throw great for a change and Contrearas and Garland to have quality starts. If these happen I am fine with whatever outcome we have.
-
On Mike & Mike it was Vazquez or Garcia. Garland has a no trade.
-
TBS has the best graphics. The scorecard graphis for batting are great.
-
Vazquez and a good ML pitcher (Broadway) to the Mets for Milledge (sp?) ----Doesn't Vazquez have to be traded out east or something like that. Mets rotation is not that good. Milledge and Fields for Schmidt. Essentially Vazquez, Fields and Broadway for Schmidt. Assuming KW is given the 72 resign window with Schmidt.
-
Garland is due to pitch again a week from Tuesday and only threw 95 pitches the other night. I bet he is in the pen tomorrow and next Friday as well. Send McCarthy to AAA for a week to make a start or two and get some work in. Bring up a real good defensive outfielder or Tracey for the pen.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) 1-0 SOX on a JD HR Thanks. Now back to this nonsense.

Anyone got a score update, I would rather read this then flip between scoreboards. Thanks.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) who bats lead off then? Whoever is playing second base.

Anyone see the Friday Pop-up promotion at the game last night. That kid was a better outfielder than Pods, I AM NOT JOKING either.
-
Patience at the plate and we win, if Fred throws strikes. Yesterday patience would have ended Lester in 4 innings (Crede and Ozuna).
