  1. He is never healthy. At some you can't keep telling yourself guys will stay healthy. Before Eloy lost huge parts of 2021 and 2022 he missed the playoffs in 2020. You are either injury prone or you ae not and the White Sox are full of injury prone guys. Other than Robert these become issues at the MLB level. Robert has always been hurt.
  2. Anything not from 76-90 is interchangeably good. The current road grays are good as well.
  3. The White Sox are nothing like the Rays, A's or Indians in any aspect good or bad. Going to be along winter on Soxtalk
  4. So if he was benched he would get $11M not $13M next year so the White Sox potentially cost themselves $2M by playing him on a regular basis and not bringing up Coals and sitting Pollock down 4 days a week. Then he opts out and saves the White Sox $6M-$8M. That was what I was saying.
  5. I wonder if this was a handshake agreement and why they played him throughout the end of the season. If he was benched or released the last month of the season for Engel wouldn't he have lost a few million?
  6. I think people are reading too much into this distain for the clubhouse. If he wants to play he is worth $8M and someone will give it to him...if he doesn't he gets $5M. Wonder if there was any cash considerations for the buyout from the Dodgers.
  7. With the way pitching is been managed now a days he has fallen into a spot as stare earlier, couple innings every couple of days. This wasn't the White Sox plan but he and Kopech may both end up in those roles....I'm still not sold on Kopech being a 160+ inning guy
  8. The inexperience isn't an excuse anymore but I think MC is too much for them at their placement.
  9. The White Sox not saying anything about it is odd to me. If there was a serious issue I think Hahn steps up and says something.
  10. So Tony and this team offensively really did nothing to prepare to play the game.
  11. I don't that much about them greg. I think they were yougn and experienced to begin with and have heard they are getting better each week.
  12. How is KC overlooking him that big of an issue? They went with the experienced guys (Yost/Matheny), fired everyone now and the new people brought in their guy. I'm not sure he was even fired by KC now and may have retained his job. Davey Martinez was overlooked often and he ended up just fine. I liked Kevin Long but a month ago I had no clue who he was. I haven't seen anything poorly stated about this guy and he seems to have what is needed....a pulse. Hopefully he doesn't see any value in Shelley Duncan's analytical resume.
  13. Wonder if Kevin Long is irritated he was passed over in Philly and could leave.
  14. The cubs are having the same issue as the Blackhawks. Jack your prices up and then when the product is not championship caliber you lose people. The flip side of that is the Sox have low prices and when they then raise them all hell breaks loose. I have a 20 game plan in the upper deck and my plan decreased by 10%. The price is based on what is charged for premium games and the number of games you have.
  15. This is how it could play out with the clown car on 35th not looking inept Espada is in line to replace Baker and that was guaranteed to him and why he went from #1 to not in contention. Does Dusty step in and ask for another year or two and do the Astros pony up to keep Joe? Mendoza was on the radar but the Yankees asked for him to not be interviewed until after they are out of the playoffs. Guillen is interviewed because of his deep Venezuelan ties and there to gain his thoughts on Mendoza as a potential hire. Are Guillen's ties deep enough with him to be his bench coach? I believe Guillen resided in Venezuela in the winter well into his managing days and is very proud of what his homeland once was once. Or maybe Harold Baines will be named next week.
  16. Well they are certainly interviewing a good amount of candidates.
  17. I think Omar was a joke. He probably would have gotten the job based on his work before that all came out. The thing that would piss me off most about Ozzie was that was an easy move to make in June on an interim basis to see how it worked out....not now
  18. Her ex husband with whom she has kids makes much more sense than the two adult ex boyfriend/girlfriend going trick or treating.....
  19. Their frosh and soph teams went 16-2 this year This current varsity class is about what was expected. Not sure what to expect from Jacobs
  20. You are 50% right on the creepy autograph hounds but there are also cool things around it and it is in the the most miserable time of the year. I heard they are still planning some sort of event on a lesser scale and think the cost of the event is what drove to cancelling it. You can have an event without Hahn and KW. You get Guillen, some older guys, Getz, Thome, new manger, Katz, and go from there.
  21. Didn't they convince him to leave the field to be a manager? If so why not hire him than the charade that is going on now. Hahn's comments as to the hiring parameters of the new guy, similar to the the old guy needing dugout experience on a championship level team seems to be complete bullshit. Why would he even add that again that this go around. I am starting to believe they have no clue and while there are only 30 of these jobs the White Sox job is not looked at favorably for those candidate's that can wait. With 4 days off Kevin Long should be interviewed today or tomorrow.
  22. The PR spin should be, with the cost of hotel space we felt we could not in good faith run an event that fulfills the needs of of fans who would pay a very high cost,
