QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 06:24 AM) This is the s*** that had fans upset with Jerry "the tinkerer" Manuel. Switching to a different line up everyday isn't going to work. Carl and Frank are going to platoon for now. Ozzie will have to decide a little bit by schedule and a little bit by match-ups. Either way, I suspect who ever is sitting will get a pitch hit appearance late in a game. Tinkering with s*** players was the problem.

I'm actually better with the numbers and is this a lot you have to pay in? Remember to stay right the whole time

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) Who was ahead of Buehrle? I remeber that was the year where he struggled in the first half. Colon and Loiaza

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) honestly I cannot fault a pitcher for wiping his brow. It is so hot on the field in their uniforms, and they are constantly throwing, alot of sweat builds up on your head. If this is somehow cheating, then they all cheat. My point wasn't that wiping your brow is cheating. My point is he does it an inordinate amount of times. I understand he sweats we all do but this thread is about maybe something that is going on and this is somethign I feel is odd. That is all. The conversation is about cub players throwing spitters and who it may be. This is why I think it is Maddux.

QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) it's hard for me to agree that a team that didn't get in would be a tough out. Valid point but on paper they were one of the best teams in baseball Buerhle was their number three pitcher. To go with the thought of this string the 2003 team was better than this team.

Grossly overworked and overpaid. Nice guy though.
-
Padilla hates the Sox, read his crap. He is a bozo. Maddux, next time he pitches watch how often he lifts his cap and wipes his brow.
-
He said he hopes to pitch lights out the remainder of this and next year and get a huge deal from the SOX the year before the final year. He said he is a die hard Cardinal and WHEN THE SOX, THE SOX, THE SOX THE SOX give up on HIM HIM HIM HIM then he would like to pitch for the Cardinals.

Sorry fantasy GM's, Sox not ready to deal

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) I definitely agree with this. For what it is worth this was what I felt the whole situation is. Guillen can't say, "Go get me Eric Chavez, Pedro Martinez and Ben Davis," and actual think is going to get them. I beleive they set a philosphy and Guillen gets rid of guys and mentions guys that are available that may fit. Rid - Lee Get - Smart good guy Dye Rid - Valantin Get - after researching Pyz Need - bullpen help get Hermanson and Vizcaino Guillen get that SS from FL he may work out, he may not -
What will Carl catch the most heat for........ 1) Ripping on fans - - - he is right, go to Wrigley 2) Ripping on Wrigley - - - -he is right, go to Wrigley 3) His not accepting homosexuality --- see 1 and 2 (see kidding) He is not John Rocker. This is a debatability issue but not a malicious attack. His steroids v. the war is what should be the biggest topic as you may argue if more teens are lead to beleive they can succeed with steroids, this may kill more, or already has indirectly than the war in Iraq.

After he gave up the BS homer to Clark, the next four hitters did not have a chance. I think Jon will roll the rest of the way. He looked really ticked after the homer.

Thomas and Evereett need abs, as does harris, when was the last time Ozuna hit? It is almost alarming the amount of chances timo gets. -
There is no malice in his words, just his opinions. I beleive the moon is mentioned in the story of the creation.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Simply put, Frank is one of the best pure hitters of our lifetime. There is no way he should be hitting like this after all the problems. He is just amazing at the plate. I'll third that a professional hitter. -

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Politte better be coming in, Jon is so damn lucky. There shoud have been a double play and KOnerko should've thrown Clayton out prior to the BS homer. Leave him, just my two cents. -

I have been saying this for years. The White Sox do not fight of tough pitches by fouling them off, they pop them up. The umpiring has been bad. That pitch to Iguchi was neck to letter high, no joking. This is what this team is. If the starting pitching is not lights out we will lose. Frank Thomas is our best hitter. Paul Konerko is gone after this season, not soon enough. We are a very good team if we do not make mistakes. The D'Backs are schooling us, oh well lets get back at it. The Twins are the same. -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Checking through the game log, Neal Cotts hasn't given up a hit since May 29th. In his last 7 appearences, covering 9.2 IP, he has stuck out 10 while walking 4 and not allowing a hit. Didn't Shingo retire 27 straight last year

What are your thoughts on the Willy Wonka remake and do feel Johnny Depp handled the role you played so well as adequetly as you would've liked? Also, going into a draft is there a certain mindset to focus on one aspect and really hit it hard, (i.e. pitching, specific positon, high school guys, JUCO, College guys, etc.) rather they the so-called best available player theory we hear in most draft speak?
