McCarthy idea-Bmac promoted to the big time?
Harry Chappas replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
YOu don't want a guy sitting around doing nothing when he can be loggin innings and feeling out how to pitch. How many long relief appreances have we needed. Leave him where he is and hope not to need him until Spring of 2007. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) I'm pretty sure that Zambrano is going to peg someone tomorrow, but that might work in our favor with Contreras on the mound. The Count is a big SOB and he can throw a baseball pretty hard. If one of our guys gets hit, the Cubs might be afraid of some retaliation. Timid Cubs are a good thing. The problem is neither guy has great control, it could get ugly.

White Sox vs Cubs Game One Thread 5-20-05

Tell me about it, watching the play by play (no MLB TV or radio) simply the rolling scroll piss ass crap updates on MLB.com and keying into Soxtalk, make my day. Mother Nature shines on the Chicago White Sox. Gotta go catch the Rock Island and laugh at the cub fans. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 20, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Flubs' lineup per ESPN: 2B Jerry Hairston LF Todd Hollandsworth 1B Derek Lee RF Jeromy Burnitz 3B Aramis Ramirez CF Corey Patterson SS Neifi Perez C Henry Blanco P Greg Maddux I don't mind seeing Blanco in the lineup because he has no bat whatsoever but Podsednik needs to be geared up, Blanco has a great arm. That 7-8-9 in the order is a massive hole. AS could be the 1 and 2. -
Don't be to surprised if he doesn't start.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 19, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) yeah, I'm having no trouble getting tickets to appear either, but now they are only lower deck, but under the stands, and I hate sitting under there, it blocks the views, but there are still some available Upper deck ondeck circle 10th row. $42 each ouch! I have to work though.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Maybe throwing him out every God damn day could be the problem. I'm waiting for his arm to fall off. Just my opinion. Before last night when was the last time he pitched?

Belated props for the Garland/Karchner deal
Harry Chappas replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Karchner should throw out the first pitch for a cub /Sox game, with Dennis Lamp, and Steve Trout. The Sox could subtly tout it as guys who pitched for both teams. -
I think everyone is thinking that and it is a valid point. I suppose they ask him how he feels and he says fine. He has a history of breaking down so I think they should limit him but as Ed Farmer will tell you the only way to get stronger is to throw. Great point.

How did the runners move up on Shingo? This is 100 times better than any gamecast but I miss the details sometime. -

Why is AJ not getting a day off against a team that is 5-3? this would be a prime day off we play 6 in row agaisnt better teams than the Royals. When is our next day off? -
Right on the money. The 9-10 show never showed the Rowand homer, I missed it in the game and didn't realize homered until this morning. BBTN has become a disgrace with the "analyst" they have on. The former players all suck. They are trying to go the fottball route and it disgrace. The guys they get are pathetic.

Leavin now for cocktails to warm-up with.

This may be a first for Jon Garland....

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) Last night on baseball tonight, they did a 'best of April', not ONE mention of anything White Sox. I saw that as well. Did you happen to hear Gammons sidestep the topic of Schilling and Pinella. When asked he went into a analysis of Wade Miller's evening at Pawtucket. Wade F'in Miller is hurt every year yet he will win the Cy Young as soon as he puts on the Red Sox uniform. Unbullievable. Gammons is out of control on his Red Sox banter. -
I like Hawk, that is all. Oh wait, Anthrax, great point on the announcers on the Baseball Package, better yet listen to the cub broadcast. Their fans are trying really hard to like those two. Hard to listen to, try Ron Santo. The PBP guy has to be a saint or at least from Wisconsin.

How close are the cubs to 10,000 losses, that will get more coverage for such a feat.
