I get the feeling Guillen, Cora and KW are not attrative guys to come and work for and this does not bode well.... Say what you want but nobody really went out of their way to play here except Alomar and I get the feeling he wasn't getting offers anyway.

Konerko dumped his land? There was an editorial in the Times about a month ago about how some older lady in Bridgeport was all excited about Konerko moving to Bridgeport and he better not be traded. I thought he was going to try and trump the guy with the indoor pool just south of the park.

Why ruin our fun when it is so damn cold outside?

Ya but neither do Matt Ginter or Jon Rauch

I think it will come down to Konerko for Weaver as there appears to be a pissing match on who pays for Konerko. -
Trade Konerko ; sign Ponson I like Konerko but he bogs down teh middle of our lineup and for $9M you can't have that, not for a 1 1/2 to 2 tool player. This move allows Lee and Thomas to DH play first and open a spot for Borchard, Reed, etc.

Everyone on this site seems to think you need to have a .600 winning percentage to be worthy of starting for us. I get the feeling Cotts for Clemens would be debated here as Cotts has more upside. I personally think cotts will never see the majors again. Control and a good batting eye can not be taught.

Konerko for Ponson and a prospect sounds like a good deal to me. Although keeping Konerko and signing Ponson sounds like a major league organization addresing their needs. After watching the hawks last eve I need to continue reminding myself that Chicago is a big city. Traffic this morning was all I needed to remind me. FYI, the roof supports are going up although the braces for the upperdeck structure are kind of scary. I'd hate to see the entire upperdeck collapse. -
The only case of this as I remember it was when Tim Raines played for the Expos on May 1st and did something huge. Not sure what the deal was wuith this or I amy be way wrong.

They were in first place (last Sunday in May) until the Tigers beat us and Keith Foulke was spun around by Jason Giambi. After that game we never regained confidence and it was over. Todd Ritchie became Todd Ritchie, Kennty Loften became Emancio Panchero (sp?,) Ray Durham became Felix something or other, yada, yada, yada.

I believe he can sign before then but can't play for us, not sure though. I would like this deal.

This team should win this division each and every year it exist. A better organization would have won at least 3 of the last 4.

Other then Colon who really gives a s***. I was reading about the stud Dodger centerfielder, you know the guy to save the day in centerfield for whomever in the upcoming year or so. Well he struck out 130 times in A and AA ball. Imagine what he will do in the majors. Just about every young player has risk involved. If you can get proven ML players in return it is worth it. Our entire outfield, thirdbasemen, possibly second baseman, opening day starter, catcher and DH will all have spent time our ML system, with 6 of them being drafted. Not sure what your point is other than to b**** and moan for the sake of b****ing and moaning. I would even go into our rotation. Where is Matt Guerrier on your list, how about Chris Singleton, Mark Johnson, Sean Lowe, Mike Caruso, Bob Howry, James Baldwin?

There are many people that rip on Jon Garland, please help me understand why. The guy has won double digit games the last two years and is only 24 years old? Also when was the last time he missed a start? Although I believe he can pretty inconsistent at times he has proven to me that he can be a good major league for a time to come. He is cheap as well. Over the last two years; Kerry Wood 26-22 in 65 games Jon Garland 24-25 in 65 games Sid Ponson 24-21 in 59 games All things aside I think this guy should be locked up for a while as I think he can win a few games for us over the next few years.

I know Dan Stouter and this my friend is not a comment Dan Stouter would make. He works the free standing Coke stand behind Section 574 at the Jack. As of this morning he was paying tribute to his San Diego Clippers shrine to Nate Archibald while wearing his Charlie Joiner jersey and listening to the call of the Leon Durham E-3 play. He told me there is no truth to this rumor and Bruce Willis is coming by later for tea.

The A's are giving him Foulke Money $5M, we were giving gordon money $2M

Who would Boston want that LA has? Boston isn't looking for youth, they want Maggs. It is up to KW to make the deal work in our favor with both Boston and LA.

Odalis is a throw in with any deal with the Dodgers I would rather have Freddy Garcia. I get the feeling Evans will be left out on this.

Dan Patrick says Nomar to Sox is done

A rightfield hole with Borchard, remember him, Reed or Gload (can he play the outfield.) There is also flexabiltiy in moving Rowand to right and getting a centerfielder. Did Loften sign with the Yanks. I would guess that there would be a ton of non-tendered guys out there for these spots. I like the possability of guillen and garciapara up the middle and Williamson in the pen. -

The key ot whole thing is Maggs, Seattle ain't got 'em, LA ain't got 'em, the gambler does. The gambler also has a shortstop in place, something LA and Seattle do not. Boston wants Maggs LA and Seattle want stronger hitting SS but don't have anything Boston would like to get to the World Series. KW's legacy could be written shortly, weather good or bad. There is no way he shouldn't get the better of both deals and in the end win BIG!!!!! -
The Sun-Times, especially Doug Padilla are so full of s***, they are completly clueless.
-
I think we could get Garcia and Guillen for Valentin. If we could sign Garcia and still make a run at Ponson, that ticket increase would be forgotten. I am not sure about Nomar though. I think he has many more questions marks, (i.e. injuries, hitting away from Fenway and wanting to be here,) than Ordonez. If we could get for Ordonez and Valentin; Williamson, Kim, Mota, Perez, Garcia and Guillen and two stud young pitchers (and trade them for Huff,) I would be happy. Then if we signed a lefty bat... A pen of Willamson,Kim,Mota,Marte,Koch, Wunsch, and Shoenweis Rotation; Buerhle, E-LO, Garcia, Perez, and Garland (maybe Ponson) Lineup; Uribe;Guillen;Huff;Thomas;Lee;Konerko;Crede;Rowand;Olivo I can live with this.

I would think that they would need to replace Kevin Brown. And oh, they now have $15M to spend if needed on hitting. Someone wants a shortstop and was rumored to be in the market for Garcia and that team was the Dodgers. They can then move Perez and/or Weaver for hitting. A package of Weaver and Perez will net soem nice hitting and allows them to possibly keep the cash the got for Weaver to spend elsewhere. I think it will be pretty hard to move Valentin, Konerko, and Koch.
