If you can relax the next 2 weeks when thinking of the Sox, you are not a fan. -

Can you post the lineups? -
We are 2-4 against the Red Sox and actually won when we faced Pedro. The Red Sox have a terrible pen but they shut us down completly.

Downstate media's opinion of the Sox

Who reads this paper? I ask this question becasue if there are no Sox fans in that area why write about them? Wouldn't the fans down there rather read about the Cards or cub. This sounds like a guy just trying to stir it up to get his name going. What an ass. -

Radke's been really good lately this game is going to be tough. The Twins know a win here, they control their own destiny. even v. 2 games back is huge. -
Didn't Thomas get some heat for using non union builders on his tiddy estate in Burr Ridge. Konerko at Jimbo's on a Friday in January, cool.
-
Didn't read the Times. Is it is Bridgeport? Did I hear that here?
-
Is there any chance of a bias toward former Toronto Blue Jays players kids or is this just a coincidence? Reed is one of the older players but I think overall the most hyped will get it, Rauch being 6'10" made him unique.
-
If Thomas wins it I think it is a shame as he is being rewarded for striking out and going for homers. I like Ordonez and Lee's numbers better. I like Thomas but Loiaza, Ordonez and Lee shoudl be thought of higher. Mags really needs to hit to right with a man on first and less than two outs. The DP's are killing him.

I thought he had good stuff and showed some fire.

If we go 2-4 against the Yanks and Red Sox while the Twins go 6-0 against the Tigers we loss 4 games. This is not inconceivable. I will not go into us and the Royals and the Twins and the Indians. It is going to be a long 2 1/2 weeks.
-
JM will cost us a couple more games before the season is over, let's just hope we can overcome them. The biggest example of this is not pitching Paniagua or Koch against the Indians. Does anyone have a rational how you do this? The man is a menace and feel he will do us in when all is said and done. If the game is close today we are in trouble. JM seems more willing to do every thing in his power to beat weaker teams and will risk losing to better teams. After stating this I relaize we play better against the better teams.

I think the cub will go after him harder for the PR spin as sosa ages they need something. If the sox were to go after him I think it is a year early as Valentin appears locked for next season.

Those were tough seasons to stomach.

Tonight will be 25. In 1993 I went to 62. Sat on 37th Street after work and drank a 30 pack of Old Style before every game. Ah, the good ole blue collar, street parking days. Work until 3:30, drink until 3:30 and sweat it all off. White collar and family life have their perks and I feel better as person. I notice attendance began to fall in 1994 as my abiltiy to make games tappered off as well. Was I that entertaining?

2 at better record 2 at worse record 1 at better record Days off depend on television. In 2000 we played Tues, Wed and fri.

Season Ticket Holders should be allowed to order as many playoff tickets as they wish until all 44,000 are gone. Then they, like myself can reward those that they feel have supported the team by attending games when those with tickets need a hand.

I was talking about baseball. You were talking about cUB pitchers. And in case you haven't noticed, the only place we're mentioned in the same breath with the Yankees and such is on White Sox message boards. I talked about a cub pitcher, not plural, that fit an example I was making, that pitchers get paid on talent not their won and lost record. Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton, and Chan Ho Park are not cub pitchers. Peter Gammons on ESPN spoke of the Cub and Sox as having have their most realistic chances at winning since 1983 and 1984 respectively. I didn't think Gammons appeared only on the White Sox message board but I could be wrong. I apologize for being positive about this team and realizing that man for man we are as good as any team and as long as our manager doesn't try to manage we have as good a shot as any. I am sorry Bartolo Colon can not produce at the standard of Jim Parque, Cal Eldred, James Baldwin or Mike Sirotka but I'll appreciate him none the less.

I just turned in four unused tickets from the Tampa game for tonight I am in the UD. I can't wait.

Loaiza has 6 more Wins than GooBoy. Soon maybe 7. Wood is not on the Sox, nor will he be, so who cares? In case you didn't notice, on the South Side of Chicago, we only pay pitchers who win. And those need to be convincing winners. I must've missed that with all of the champagne from the championships in my eyes. We are spoken of in the same breath as the Yankees and A's this year because of Buerhle, Loiaza, Colon and Garland. We do not gamble on pitching at any cost and it shows with our lack of production as an organization. I mention Kerry Wood as he will get paid because of his talent not his win count. I thought we were talking about baseball, sorry.
-
I'm not here to convince you, nor anyone else of anyhing. Where'd you get that silly idea? 'Speculative'? Uh, yea, that's why I said it was my opinion. 'Wins'. GooBoy was brought here to win. Pitchers are judged by wins, last I looked. Cy Young recipients get it by getting Wins. 20 game Win seasons are a goal of most pitchers. 20 game Win seasons get the pitcher multi million dollar contracts. The team with the most wins is given first place, last I checked. And the teams with the most Wins at the end of the season go to the playoffs. In the playoffs teams with the most Wins advance, and the one with the most wins in the playoffs is called the 'World Series Champion'. Did they change something? Or were you talking about something other than baseball? Look at the most wins Kerry Wood has ever had in a year and his career numbers. He will be going into the offseason asking for the same money as Colon and I believe he has never won more games than Danny Wright did last year. What was Chan Ho Park's record before he got $12M/year from the Rangers? Nolan Ryan was barely over .500 for his career. Steve Carlton lost 20 games in a season. Esteban Loiza should have over 20 wins this year why doesn't he, yet?

Wait until you see tonights crowd. Unless there is a huge walkup we won't even ahve 25,000. I just went to exchange some tickets and the wonderful Customer Service area for Ticket Sales appeared to be disturbed that I broke up their lunch. As useless as they come. Although I am normally pretty happy with them, my simple questions were pretty much a thorn in their side.

What did I run with? I pointed out the redundancy of your post and for the reaction it gets. Then you pointed out that I am an imature kid that has never been in contact with Chicago? Then you went on to compare your posting to my thoughts on Buerhle. I clearly understand your post as I show up daily for a majority of the day. Your question can be raised of everyone. Why is Thomas hitting .260? Konerko? Buerhle? Koch? Gordon? Everyone. This is not my point, my point was simply to ask why you feel you need to beat us over the head with your feelings of Bartolo Colon, nothing more, nothing less. You "ran with my statement of starting something, I was pointing a fact based on the reaction your posts get, that is all. Then you attack me. Enjoy your day.

You have your opinion, I have mine. How many times have you posted negatively about Buehrle? Have I ever, just once, jumped on you personally about it? Have I ever, any single time that you've read, done anything other than disagree with another opinion, and state why? I have REACTED to the name calling, the inane attacks, I'll always defend myself, but have you ever seen me initiate any of that crap? I'll ask you again, Why is it one way for you and not the same for me? It is not your ideas and opinion that is the problem it is fact that they are posted daily when Colon pitches. Most of my negative Buerhle comments are made toward your thoughts on Colon and what appears to be an attempt to place an unjust amount of blame on him by using history and current performance as the guide but you will not use this for Buerhle. My thought on this earlier was that you are posting on this topic "to start something," read all of the posts and verbage that goes along with these threads when posted. Then read your response to me on the fact that you claim to be simply posting your thoughts on this matter. My point was that every person on this site in the last month knows very well that you do not like Colon, why do you feel you need to bring it up daily. After I pointed this out you basically called me a grammer school fool from a far off land. Really uncalled for but hey that is your way, I can live with that. There is no double standard if my comments on Buerhle are geting to you let em know and I will stop. The performance last evening showed what he is made of and why after getting his money in this upcoming offseason his team will be in the playoff hunt while we are watching another sub-par pitching stuff have at it next year. Looking at the game by game results, negative comments are more justly deserved for Buerhle than Colon.
