Who had rings on Arizona the previous year. That is a stupid article. The cub is better becasue Alou has a ring I guess.
-
Sounded like JM was going to hit him, it was classic.
-
Makes me want to go Sunday if this could happen.

If they are not going to use Koch we need to get some help because Gordon and Marte are not going to be able to be the only guys we trust in the pen. Right now Glover, Koch and Sanders only come in in games we are losing. This is not good but we at least beat teams we should've.
-
There is something unsettling about this as Marte comes in. 5-2; 2 outs in 8th.

I really wish I was out there, what a nice day, damn work. Sounds like a good game with Colon throwing one pitch, fastballs, for strikes.

The wave started because the game was pretty boring in that the Sox had maybe one baserunner or two after the third inning. After they crushed the ball in the first three it appeared they lost interest. The players in the dugout were cheering with the wave. I think to some extent it shows interest and is like the whistling at Hawk games, a way to tell the players to get going.

I posted about the same thing in the 'opportunities' thread. The 8th inning at-bats of Ordonez and Everett were atrocious, this team thinks they can snap their fingers and just win a game. The number of at-bats that we give up (thomas three, Lee two, and Ordonez,) guys that look like they just want to go sit back down is mind numbing. We easily could have split with the Tigers and were not very impressive last eve.

This is another day full of opportunities

The eigth inning of last nights game to me said it all. Not to be overly negative but if not for a base running blunder the Tribe could've taken the lead. Then in the bottom of the inning the at-bats of Ordonez and Everett were pathetic. They looked like they wanted to get out of there (2 K's on ALL strikes that were not even close.) Then Lee, well that looked like a guy on the take. The difference between the Twins and Royals and the Sox are that the other two play to win, we playing assuming we are entitled to win just by showing up. Where was Alomar on that pop-up to right? I agree we can gain ground but not sure we should look past the Tribe today. -
JM should move him to fourth in the line-up then. All of the things that made him a much better player than sosa are now gone, yipee here comes the 100 K's, 40 walks and ???HR, this does not excite me. We should bring Canseco back and see who can get to 500 first. If last night was the first of the revised Frnak approach, trade him now, he looked like a fool.
-
Rick White looked better, not trying to start something here and agree with Gordon looking good but he, Marte and White are making Kock look like an afterthought. Now if Glover could get a shot we could have a good pen.
-
This board is a sounding place for our thoughts and impressions. Obviously they are in line with the organization on this topic. Nobody here was able to trade Jimenez we just pointed out what somehow the team thought as well. Now if only they will realize Thomas should be playing first.
-
I will be in attendance but see the normal White Sox let down and slump resumption, 7-2 Tribe. Porzio 3+ 4 runs all earned; Glover 2 IP 1 run earned, White 2 IP 1 earned Koch 2 IP 1 run.
-
On top of that he was so dominating he probably only threw 70/80 pitches a game at the lower (college/HS) level. I thought his fatehr had him on a pitch count his whole life. Dusty Baylor will be in troulble if this one breaks down.
-
Nobody benefits from lower attendance. JR just doesn't make as much per fan as the attendance grows. Instead of getting 80% of the revenue while atteracting 1M fans he is getting around 50% after 1.6M, he is not losing by getting more fans his bottom kind just grows at a lower rate but in total it is much greater to get 2M than 1.3M. The state and tax payers just benefit the more fans that show up, JR does not suffer.
-
The thing is, if guys want to stay here they will renegotiate a contract rather than go to arbitration. Arbitration really does nobody any good unless you are an aging player that had a really good year and knows the market will not reward you (Maddux, Finley.) The guys we have will not benefit. What will Alomar get? What will Colon get? It is a crapshoot and a one year deal at best. The sad thing is, I like this team and wouldn't beef about getting rid of a corner outfield/1B/DH guy (Daubach/Evertett/Lee/Thomas/Ordonez/Konerko,) to improve a weakness. Maybe I am dillusional but I look at this team and give up analyzing it, therefore I point at the blockhead that is responsible for the day-to-day operation JM. He is being exposed as the fraud he is. We are finishing year three of a terrible division that we should have walked away with but knucklehead JM is pulling the wool over our eyes and JR is proving that he feels he is above the fans of this city and will do as he wishes. Watch attendance fall below 8K a game next years. Meet the dark years, this is White Sox baseball.

I went to bed last evening thinking if Seattle and the Sox swept we would be right there. Now I could give a s*** about the rest of this season. I will not care about this team until they are a game out of first. I will not renew my season tickets and I will not attend to watch this piss poor organization any longer. This is a f***ing disgrace and although I do not feel the manager is to blame something needs to be done and manuel does not seem to be able to get this team to paly to their capabilities. That is the sole responsability of the manager. reisdorf and manuel are pathetic piece of s*** losers and I feel like a fool for spending money on this s***. one word disgraceful.
-
Get rid of the manager and go form there. In 40+ years of baseball 'Hawk' has never seen a more underachieving team. I am not sure if winning will even bring me back for the first time in as long as I can remeber I have to say I feel I the same as this team, "I don't care."
-
That same inning the cub fan in front of me was sure it was John Smoltz. At least he got the team right.

Baptism is one step in a life of religous choices. Baptism is more for the parents showing.....ah forget it your too dense.

Royals v. Mariners Sox v. Tigers Twins v. A's All are four game series and can be difference makers. I think a sweep is all that we can settle for.

I boo'd Baker because I think he is full of himself and has this holier than thou attitude and is untouchable because he is Johnny B. Baker. Prior because he has the same type of attitude (see hitting Bonds.) Bonds, see above, the Babe Ruth talk, makes me ill. The Royals becasue I am jealous of them, they both laughed and appeared to appreciate it. Guardado, (see Royals.) I think the players all took it in fun as at least they realize they are being boo'd because we are pissed they are beating us (cub players.) What is wrong with booing a guy, at least we recognize and understand why we are booing them. If we boo'd Ordonez or Loiaza I would have a problem. Booing Foulke is stupid but the remainder make sense and I thought they were in good nature. I am sure Barry Bonds could give two s***s that I hate him.

Not by the looks of the stat line posted.

These trades mean nothing if we do not play to our potential. The Twins have no starting pitching, to get Shannon Stewart would be nice but they still can not pitch. This is the same as us getting Everett, it looks nice but in the end our best denfensive outfielder (and one that has come through more so than others over the last few weeks,) is benched. We appear better but in all actuality we are not. Alomar makes us a better team, Everett helps protect against injury but greatly weakens our defense.
