  1. Royals v. Mariners Sox v. Tigers Twins v. A's All are four game series and can be difference makers. I think a sweep is all that we can settle for.
  2. I boo'd Baker because I think he is full of himself and has this holier than thou attitude and is untouchable because he is Johnny B. Baker. Prior because he has the same type of attitude (see hitting Bonds.) Bonds, see above, the Babe Ruth talk, makes me ill. The Royals becasue I am jealous of them, they both laughed and appeared to appreciate it. Guardado, (see Royals.) I think the players all took it in fun as at least they realize they are being boo'd because we are pissed they are beating us (cub players.) What is wrong with booing a guy, at least we recognize and understand why we are booing them. If we boo'd Ordonez or Loiaza I would have a problem. Booing Foulke is stupid but the remainder make sense and I thought they were in good nature. I am sure Barry Bonds could give two s***s that I hate him.
  3. Not by the looks of the stat line posted.
  4. These trades mean nothing if we do not play to our potential. The Twins have no starting pitching, to get Shannon Stewart would be nice but they still can not pitch. This is the same as us getting Everett, it looks nice but in the end our best denfensive outfielder (and one that has come through more so than others over the last few weeks,) is benched. We appear better but in all actuality we are not. Alomar makes us a better team, Everett helps protect against injury but greatly weakens our defense.
  5. Any loss this weekend that can not be blamed on the failure of one player (i.e. Danny Wright getting shelled, Kock blowing a lead,) and I think he should be gone. This past road trip was a disgrace. I find it hard to believe that KW has no power as he appears to be the one doing all of the talking. JM is showing he has no comprehension on how to manage. He wanted a bat, he got an all-star bat. We need one line-up everyday, it is that easy. No lefty/righty s***, the same guys, the same places. JM is unable to motivate a team on top of everything else.
  6. It is not on TV becasue Fox has exclusive rights to Saturday afternoon. The bigger joke is it is a day/night double header. If the game started at 3:05 with the second game following, it would be on television. The fans have to leave the stadium. There could be up to 3 hours between games.
  7. Via a work outing I was at the game yesterday. I am glad cub fans did not realize the Sox were losing and eventually lost. I gave 6 fingers a Standing 'O' and also cheered wildly when Sosa popped out on the infield both times. cub fans sure are a wacky bunch the guy next to me pointed out that both hits were not close to homers, I stated, "That was why I was cheering douchebag." This was after I asked him when Maddux signed with Atlanta and also that I thought Vinny Castillo signed with the cub. I proved I wasn't a moron when I explained that Bako was Maddux personal catcher with Atlanta for five years and the cub signed the wrong end of the battery. He didn't find it funny but I did give Dusty Baylor credit for knowing this.
  8. He should make some comment of hoping the NL pitchers are not as good as the Detroit Tiger pitchers.
  9. Smells like an embarrassing sweep hey at least we have some hits today. Off to a work outing at Wrigley, it is amazing how dense cub fans are.
  10. From someone who did nto see the game, this was great.
  11. While reading that I only missed the attendance guess last eveining by a couple of hundred people, what was the deal with the Great Lakes Naval recruits? I think this would be an awesome promotion that really should have been promoted, especially with the 4th and everything.
  12. Don't take this the wrong way but I am more than excited to see Carl Everett then Anthony Webster. I understand that Webster may be the next so and so but he is in 'A' ball and when everything pans out he may not gets past 'AA.' In the grand scheme of things how many prospects actually make it to the majors (Lee, Rowand, Ordonez, Crede, Thomas, Buerhle, Wright,) this is more than most organizations. I would trade a position player almost any day in this situation but don't like to do so with pitching as injuries can impact the pitching of an organization. I think Reed and Anderson make this deal good/great for the Sox. Everett leads the Sox in RBI.
  13. I'll take 30,000 waving fans as oppossed to 12,000 b****ing about 18,000 more not showing up. I think the wave shows that the crowd is energized and excited and not reading a magazine or chatting on the phone. The pitcher of Loiaza and Jimenez doing the wave was a tad funny as well. Go SOx.
  14. 19,857, I hope I am wrong but we have drawn about 200K in five days, that is amazing.
  15. I think teh guys on the list are pitchers as follows Ginter, Wing, the dude they got for Loften, Meaux, and the guy they got for Alomar. I also have a feeling Borchard and Miles are on it.
  16. I suppose Neil Cotts can be something but in exchange for Keith Foulke he is getting Everett and Koch. Valentine is no closer to the closers role than Jose Valentin. I would miss reading the Cotts AA line every couple of days but in the grand scheme of things replacing Rios and Jimenez with Alomar and Everett makes this trade worth it. How is Matt Guerrier doing?
  17. Did you see Kariya is a free agent?
  18. If we get Weaver he is our number four and we do not need to worry about signing Colon next year. Wright then solidifies our pen for the remainder of the season and we move Koch if possible. Next year Wright goes back into the rotation without a need for Colon. Weaver as our four or five gives us one of if not the best rotation in baseball.
  19. What happens when Alomar is hurt in two weeks.
  20. I meant the 'oldroman,' he was berating Buerhle to no end recently. Sorry.
  21. Yes, abo, hes doing great today. Lets hope he can keep it up. Thought you wanted to trade him to St. Louis less than 72 hours ago?
  22. He isn't really young, I see him as a Carlos Lee type and a good pick-up but nothing breath taking. For Colon he would be the guy to throw in over Rivera from the Yanks to make the deal.
  23. I think the Sox may have to bite the bullet and eat some salary unless Paul really turns it around soon. It's about the only way those guys move anywhere around the league. Frank to 5 hole, Maggs to 3, and then must find a 4 hole hitter...Crede eventually in a few years? Borchard? Well I'm fairly confident the Sox will do the BoSox deal and I can only hope they are smart enough to get Nixon, who I'd be tempted to put in the 3 hole with Maggs in the 4. But having Nixon in the 2 hole and picking up a cleanup guy would be nice too. Heck, if Sox were serious, they'd make some trades this year, and make a run at Tejada. There are other ways to accomplish these things though. All I know is the Sox can't continue to go with a one dimensional team. Lee, and Konerko or one of them and Thomas has to be gone. Thomas is the best of the bunch, so he should stay. Of course I have no problem with Lee on first and somewhere in the back of the lineup. As long as two of them are gone for something, I'm happy. Carlos also probably has the best trade value, although Franks may not be too bad now that he's heated up. I always thought Nixon was an overhyped player in the mold of Troy O'Leary. I could be wrong but I felt he would be a throw in for a deal to sweeten but not make it. Have you got numbers handy on him?
  24. What's the status of the game I am pretty superstitious with the Sox and this is killing me?
