Harvard bans men from gym for certain hours.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 09:36 AM) Are you serious? You compare women wanting to work out without men around to white supremacists and you tell me that my example of separating bathrooms by sex is extreme? Seriously? Can we all just agree that they're both poor analogies? -
QUOTE(Cknolls @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 09:12 AM) CDS" on all brokers are blowing out, especially LEH and BSC. LEH reportedly has two times the capital in CMBS and nearly five times the capital in "Hard to Price" securities, i.e. hard to sell. BSC is in even worse shape. CDS on LEH is now approximately 250 basis points and 350 basis points on BSC, out nearly 100 basis points in a month. These firms are basically insolvent. If they are forced to sell, look out below. I understood about 5% of that post. I like my cartoons better.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) Really there was no better scenario for John McCain than what unfolded tonight. I cannot believe those stupid 3 am ads actually convinced anyone to not vote for Obama. Its classic Clintonian scare tactics. Personally I would have loved to see Obama fire back at Hillary after the Canadian memo problem, with these simple words "Shame on you Hillary Clinton!" What happened not not attacking a fellow Democrat? Yeah, the best possible case for the Republicans is for Hillary to keep up the effort to torpedo Obama by whatever means possible so that whoever wins the nomination emerges weakened and spent after a brutal primary, while McCain comes out after basically a couple/few months to fundraise and relax. Was it the 3 AM ads or the NAFTA thing?

QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 10:56 PM) Jimbo, don't worry it'll come eventually! Coming right out of college I was looking for a job from May 2007 to January 08 with a degree that would get me no where specific, but I finally found a position in January. The key is looking for jobs that aren't listed on sites like careerbuilder, craigslist, etc. Those site will get you no where, which I'm sure you've seen by now. You need to look up random companies and either go to their website or make cold calls asking them if they have open positions. Its frustrating but something will come. Keep your head up! Eh, I found my current job through career builder and had several other interviews through them. You might want to check in with your university to see if you can still use their career center.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 07:30 AM) I couldn't care less about how the church says men can't be nuns and women can't be priests. That's a private organization not funded by the public's tax dollars. So is Harvard. -

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 07:00 AM) So by your logic, all bathrooms should now be unisex everywhere? That we should make no accommodation whatsoever for religion or sex anywhere? I wasn't aware of anyone who works out with their underwear around their ankles. Little different, don't you think? -
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) 2 more superdelegates declared endorsements for Obama today. I can't remember the last time Hillary received one. Got a link on those?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) I have seen before that idea, that having more condensed urban populations and more open space is better for the environment. But I'd suggest that shouldn't be taken to an extreme, nor does it paint the whole picture. Housing in high-density areas have severe limitations of how green they can be, and how easily they can dissipate discharge of all sorts. Housing that is more spread out can more easily do that. In any case, of all the sins against the environment, building some houses out in the country doesn't begin to crack the top 100 as far as I am concerned. Not that it even matters, really - there is no justification for what they did. I think the issue is that these are large homes. It takes a lot more energy to light, heat, cool, etc. a 5000 sq. ft. home, with two furnaces and two or three AC units, than it does a modest 1200 sq ft. home. More building materials are also used, etc. That said, these people are nuts and I personally have no desire to live in a high-density/ urban area. I enjoy having a yard and space.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 12:45 PM) Unless Goolsbee isn't on the payroll. In which case, this is a controversy about what a volunteer said. Goolsbee is Obama's chief economics advisor.

More nutty-ness from ELF: http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2008...et_ablaze/9905/ I wonder how much carbon burning all those buildings release?!?!!? Those eco-terrorists are polluting monsters!

QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) Apparently it's all over the net. Obama really did contact the Canadians and the CTV story was completely true... Actually, its still being denied by the Canadian Embassy and the Obama campaign. I have yet to see any real confirmation of it. Since when do underdogs win 11 straight elections, have more delegates, and won more overall states and votes?

If only we had a 25% sales tax. Then, all of our problems would be solved!

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) I don't want to go too deep into this as I'll probably be labeled as a racist, but I made this point in the abortion threads. Make abortions more accessable/affordable to poor, black, young women who get knocked up by some immature scrub who has no intents to provide support either financially or emotional to that child. Why not make birth control more accessible instead?

QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 11:45 PM) I'm sorry but some of you people are dillusional. The fact is that if Hilary wins by even 1 point in every state or even ties then the nomination is hers. Even if she loses by less the 5 points the nomination is hers. Obama has to sweep or it's over. I just wonder if he'll get out before he gets embarassed at the convention. Your nonsensical posts were funny the first few times, now they're just sad.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Actually it is - look at the S&P. The ticker says it dropped 90% of its value. It wasn't THAT bad a day. Oops! I just glanced at the NASDAQ and Dow Jones. The three indexes are down ~2.5% today.
