Don Shula needs to go to hell.

The Dolphins continue their proud march to 0-16. -
New England Patriots you are ridiculous!

A bunch of people got together and made a $2500 loan on one of the automotive forums I frequent. It went really well and they were paid back in-full.

QUOTE(max power @ Dec 8, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) It hasn't worked in 7 years. Furthermore, when they did win, their pitching played a huge role. You asked if they were a lock for the playoffs. NY has had a questionable staff and an awesome lineup for the last 7 years.
-
QUOTE(max power @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) Yeah they have a great line up. So a great lineup and a questionable pitching staff is all you need to be a lock for the playoffs? I'm not drinking detroit's kool aid. It's worked for NY for how many years?

QUOTE(max power @ Dec 8, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) Nice analogy. Who is exaggerating now? KW!

QUOTE(WCSox @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) Yeah, and he created an even larger hole in the middle of the rotation. JMO, but Uribe at SS is a lesser evil than Floyd in the rotation. Was it worth paying $4.5 million for a utility player that can't hit? Not sure about that. Don't get me wrong, I like Cabrera a lot. But I don't see how adding him and losing Jon makes the Sox a better team. And Jon is going to be worth a lot more than Cabrera in June and July. That sums up the way I feel about that trade. You significantly improved the SS position, but left a huge hole in your starting rotation and have 4.5M of dead weight. QUOTE(max power @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) and a lot less confindent and a lot less delusional. If I go into a Honda dealership, they're not going to tell me "Ferrari is finally catching up to us!"

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Wow. I'm telling you, it will get worse then this. There's got to be a nuclear detonation in the next two weeks from the Hillary camp against Obama. i think there's going to be a nuclear meltdown in the Clinton camp...

Man shoots burglars while on phone with cops

QUOTE(BearSox @ Dec 8, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) Drunk driving is clearly compareable to protecting your or your neighbors property (which by the way is a right of a citizen)... You have a right to self-defense. You don't have a right to confront criminals on someone else's property and shoot them as they are fleeing. -

QUOTE(BearSox @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) No he shouldn't. Being a vigilante was not his not his intent, he thought it was justified. Do I think he should have blown them away, no. But he shouldn't be prosecuted, especially when you have nutjob judges letting obvious molesters, rapists, and other type of low breakers getting away scott free. That doesn't matter. If it wasn't justified, it wasn't justified, no matter what he thought. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 6, 2007 -> 10:10 PM) Hey that's nice, but this vigilante should still be prosecuted for murder charges. That's my stance. I've no sympathy for the thieves, but I don't believe in vigilanteism (is that a word?) either. -
More government hand-outs for everyone! Financial responsibility for none! NSS, your list is a good one.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 6, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) So, Romney gave his much-anticipated speech today about his faith. Everyone was curious how he would address his Mormonism. So how did he do it? He didn't. He gave a flowery speech, well written and delivered, that sounded identical to a speech that any other person might give who considers themselves to be religious conservatives. He could have been Fred Thompson, or Mike Huckabee, or Tom Tancredo. At least, that's what the analysis is coming from various sources I have seen. I have not seen the whole speech - only read exerpts and reviews. I hope to actually see a transcript at some point. He also chose to draw a parallel to another Massachussetts candidate - JFK. Tex would be proud. But I'm not sure that will play well with the religious right. This actually seems like maybe a pretty smart tactic. Just as the public starts realizing he's of a faith that most people know little about, and questions mount about how his beliefs may effect his judgement... he embraces those beliefs in the most generic way possible. He appeals to the religious right with his faith-based speech, but gives only vague platitudes about the LDS and his beliefs, those glossing over the main question. We'll see if it worked. He tried to make the discussion "Christians vs. Seculars" instead of making any comments on his Mormonism. I think his comments were way off-base and contradictory to the princinples of our government and Constitution. (Specifically, "freedom requires religion")

QUOTE(beck72 @ Dec 6, 2007 -> 05:31 AM) From Williams---"And what we have started this season, I am proud of. Where we are headed is right toward being a well-rounded baseball team in all facets of the game.'' Williams isn't done adding to this team. He knows the sox need to improve just like all the Xbox GM's around here. He isn't going to get the pieces he wanted, though. He doesn't have the money or prospects to compete with other GM's offers. We're going to end up with more piece-meal deals like Linebrink for way too much money and a solid SP with one year for a solid, older SS with one year.

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Ugh, Peterson's been pathetic this half in terms of breaking tackles. that should have gone for 6.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Stupid, stupid play by Hester there. You can tell that he gets frustrated when he isn't get a chance to break records and will try to make something out of nothing. Grossman's holding onto the ball forever. I don't know if its because no one's open or if he's just being timid.
-
They have zero confidence in Manning. Can't blame them.
-
Grossman isn't doing it 100% of the time as he used to, but he still back-peddles in the face of pressure too much.
-
So much for the spirit of the rules...
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 04:08 PM) I'm telling you, that Hester play took the wind out of the team. Bad luck there with that ball just missing R.W. Yeah, they looked lost after that play. A delay of game penalty and they haven't done anything after that.
-
They are blitzing Grossman almost every play.
-
Anyone watching Adrian Peterson (the good one) tearing apart the Lions?

QUOTE(Shadows @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 03:05 PM) I don't need to back anything up.. its all there in front of you the best TEAM of all time is the only one that went undefeated.. TEAM is the key word here, it doesn't matter if the 85 Bears individually had better players.. The 72' Dolphins TEAM went undefeated.. The 72' Dolphins don't make their own schedule, they don't decided to play 14 regular games, they don't have control over time -- sorry years pass and 85 came around nothing they could have done about it thats just life.. The greatest TEAM of all time went undefeated.. don't try to tell me teams haven't had the same luxury of getting an easy schedule.. last time I checked football was played before 72' As soon as another team goes undefeated, the '72 Dolphins will be a footnote. The '85 Bears will always be in the discussion.
