QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:27 PM) ah he coulda. Nice philosophy. No other manager in baseball would have kept their closer on the bench in hopes we get a run the next inning with the heart of our order up. s*** who even knows if Bobby is healthy, oh wait, everyone on Soxtalk knows. The players suck ass AND Guillen makes at least one terrible move per series. Happy now?

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/30/07 (L)

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 30, 2007 -> 01:55 PM) Questec and the ump review is full of crap. Nipples to the knees over the big white thing in front of the catcher. How hard is that to figure out. You get one ump that doesn't call anything over mid thigh, the next guy only calls pitches above mid thigh. The next guy only gives the inside pitch but no outside pitch, the next only gives the outside pitch if you are blessed to be left handed. Its just sickening how bad these umps have been over the last few years. Then you get the argumentative jagoffs who think that I paid money to see them. They cant wait to toss someone. They should start suspending some of these fools or giving them a refresher in nipples to the knees over the big white plate. Correlate their pay for the game to the number of correct balls-strikes they call. -

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ May 30, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) IMHO, both of those pitches they showed were balls. Definitely, but Jon's pitch was significantly closer to the plate. -

Wow, and where the hell was that pitch to Crede? 3, 4 inches off the corner? Are the umps sat down after every game and shown all of their dumbass calls? -

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ May 30, 2007 -> 01:46 PM) Cant blame him, the strike zone varies from half inning to half inning I cant argue with you here I've only been watching since the bottom of the fourth (didn't realize it was a day game). That strike 3 to Mack was an absolutely terrible call, though. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 30, 2007 -> 01:42 PM) Oh I don't disagree, Hawk makes more excuses for the Sox struggles than anyone in the biz. It is always someone elses fault. Hawk finally admitting that they were hitting and pitching like crap this series, but he's still very pissed at this umpiring crew. Weak pop to the 1B. inning over. -

Upon further review, it wasn't really even close to a strike. -

That was an embarrassing hack right there. Strike out, Dye gets a SB on a bad throw. I'm not sure that was a strike, though. -

Damn, that looked like it was going to be a solid hit off the bat. -

QUOTE(Steff @ May 30, 2007 -> 08:02 AM) But of course. I wish I worked at a job where I could eff up left and right and not be forced to take responsibility. Like KW and Ozzie? The under-performing players take plenty of flak here.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 30, 2007 -> 07:56 AM) Another post blaming those at the desks. Yes, an upgrade would have been nice. But it didn't happen. So rather than blame the crap ON THE FIELD, continue to blame those upstairs. Makes no sense to me. These guys are MAJOR LEAGUE BALL PLAYERS. When they can't complete a play they should have learned in t-ball then they are to blame. JMO, of course... That crap wouldn't be on the field if KW had made the moves. Yes, they're MLB players, but they're not very good ones.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 29, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) But Damm it, when those bats finally heat up to balance out the stats, boy are the hitters gonna be hot in September. The weather is too hot right now, and the hitters are fatigued. Just wait until it cools off! Then the bats will come around!

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 29, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) I'm sorry, Danks is downright AWFUL tonight. Can't drop a curveball to save his life. This better be nothing but an aberration. With the way he's pitched thus far this year, there's no reason to think its anything but.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) Get him out of there....don't want his confidence to be destroyed. You know Ozzie wants to "give him a chance to win"
-
Getting lit up again
-
Nice swing at a ball in the dirt.
-
Is ESPN covering his morning walk to get his paper? I can't believe the media attention that he's getting for going to a losing ball club. One old pitcher isn't going to turn that team around.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 29, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) Noted, agree, though I think that's a different animal. To Rock's point, many fans refuse to lay the blame for the current crap on those responsible. It's easier to criticize and critique decisions than it is to critique play on the field. We can all say "Ozzie should have pulled pitcher XXX in situation YYY, it was very obvious and made the most logical sense." We can all b**** about KW not really doing too much this off season. Those are things that we feel we could change or that we could do properly, in a sense. Saying "Konerko should really hit some singles to the gaps" doesn't go very far. Of course he should. There's not much discussion there.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 29, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Whoa whoa whoa. We have to wait until next feb?? WTF Three short seasons. And they don't want to miss February and May sweeps!
-
I had to go the same route as Steve to get it. Torrents can be your friend. I just have the last updated roster though, never updated to MVP '06. Maybe I'll do that today.
-
God I hate that place. What a garbage dump that "ball park" is.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ May 29, 2007 -> 01:28 PM) It's a question of talent. Maybe Ozzie could make a move here or there that could win a few games over the course of the season, but I don't know. It still comes down to talent and the White Sox don't have the talent of the Red Sox, Tigers or Indians. So I'm going to watch this season with the hope that they remain competetive and maybe, just maybe, find themselves with a chance at the post season in September. And that can be the difference between winning the division or sitting at home for the playoffs, like last year.

QUOTE(vandy125 @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:28 AM) My brother had every single rookie card of Bo's that he could find. I was kind of young when he was playing, but I do remember him running on the wall in Kansas City. That was crazy! I also had a baseball game with him on Sox. Since it was after his injury, he was slow as can be, but could hit the ball a mile. Bo Jackson Baseball for the NES. Bo was unstoppable.
