Harold Baines was in his 2nd year. So was Cora. Seems like it was some relatively fresh guys (to their positions at least) that won it here. I'm not saying that new coaches = winning, just showing that new coaches can win it all.

Yep, MacDougal definitely gets the majority of the blame for this one.

Almost every Sox pitcher seems to have lost velocity or not been as fast as advertised.

There was no reason to pitch to Monreau. And no, no one would have beens saying "why did ozzie pitch to cirillo?" because the bases were loaded and Cirillo is much less of a threat than Monreau. When you have to rely so heavily on hyperbole to make you point, you usually don't have a good one.
