  1. Whew. Hahaha a Jim Dandy. Hawk is such a hick. 1-0. Sosa takes them deep again.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 07:26 PM) UP TO THE SECOND JIM THOME SEASON STAT LINE: .342/.528/.868/1.397 That's hot
  3. Nice AB by Thome. He's looking pretty great at the plate.
  4. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 07:21 PM) Wow ARod has 10 homers already? That guy's locked in right now.
  5. What are you doing, Tad? The grounder to 2nd is Erstad's job!
  6. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) Javy's no hitter still in tact! Shh!!!! You'll spoil it!
  7. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) that's exactly what i thought. "If this was dice-k it would be just confirm he was the greatest pitcher to ever play the game" every national show, never one mention on what a great performance it was, never one mention of how great an atmosphere it was, just "well the white sox are bad this means nothing " or "well buerhle sucks still" give me a break. Sports journalism sucks. I dunno, the sports center and baseball tonight coverage was pretty good. Both lead with it and talked about how it could unify the team. I didn't watch any of the other shows, though.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 06:35 PM) Tell me that wouldn't be pretty damn funny, it's the 2nd inning, 1 out 2-2 to Crede and all of a sudden Brian Anderson comes storming out of the dugout and knocks Padilla out cold with as stout forearm shiver. Do it Brian, do it. It might top the no-no.
  9. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 06:29 PM) Seriously a ten game suspension would just mean a more comfortable seat to watch the game from for BA. Screw it, he should just punch Padilla regardless.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 06:23 PM) Considering that MLB has already fined AJ once for being annoying enough to be punched, I sure hope AJ keeps his cool. Who here wants Gustavo Molina starting with Wikipedia as his backup for 2 weeks? Maybe BA can get his back again and charge out of the dugout. It's not like he'll be playing anyway.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) His OBP in 2005 was .342, in 2006 .352, this year .317. .350 OBP would be incorrect. He has decent speed, not good, decent. You would be incorrect. Google search this homie. If you can't answer with those names now then f*** it. I gave you the opportunity to back it up. You can't or decide not to then that is your problem, not mine. So you are saying he is losing his OBP because he has to hit for more power? H-O-R-S-E-S-H-I-T! You have never seen him hit well in any slot other than #2 because that is all he has done. You've never seen him hit poorly in the 1 spot. 1 spot and 6-8 spots are much different.
  12. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) Hmmm, yeah it worked for me there, but for some reason didn't on the MLB feed. Must be the way the video is encoded or something.
  13. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) how'd you capture a picture form that? If you have the video on your computer you can just do a "print screen"
  14. Wait, what's the real Sawyer thing? What did I miss? The sex thing is the worst thing to ever happen to this show. I've expressed my dislike for it previously. Overall, the episode was ok. I knew it wasn't going to be Penny. I never thought for a second that it was, so there was no surprise or twist. Nothing too shocking or ground-breaking in this one, just advanced the plot a little more.
  15. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) Mark Buerhle pitched a no-hitter and we had some real fine defensive plays behind him and we still gripe. I don't think this is right. There's only so much you can say about MB's great performance. There's no discussion or debate -- we all agree that its fantastic to see him pitching as good or better than he ever has.
  16. There's a really, really pretentious commercial on the radio. It's two couples talking about going back to enjoy a glass of Port by the fireside after seeing the symphony. The one couple says "we should do this at our place next week" The other responds "In the suburbs" First couple responds, "Oh no, we've got an in-town home in the city now!" Bunch of pretentious jerkoffs.
  17. QUOTE(JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) never said he was but i guarantee hes a better bunter than nixon and dellucci and better than what i have seen out of iguchi over the two years plus you forgot to mention that pods is actually a base stealing threat unlike those other guys he wasn't for a good part of last year. He was getting caught stealing an awful lot. We'll see how fast he is after coming back from yet another groin injury.
  18. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) Spoiled by the avalanche of World Series Championships in the past century, eh? No, sick of Ozzie apologists saying "BUT HE WON A WORLD SERIES!!!!11!!1111" as justification for every bad move he makes.
  19. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) Logic + Ozzie = 2005 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS Does that compute?? Unstoppable pitching staff = 2005 World Series Champions It doesn't take much managerial skill when your pitching staff throws back-to-back-to-back-to-back CG's. That's just pure domination. Ozzie won a WS in 2005. Good for him, time to move on. And it certainly doesn't justify and stupid decisions or non-decisions he makes now. Hell, even during 2005, he made some genius moves like playing Timo at 1B.
  20. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 12:16 PM) The armchair managing has reached epic proportions the likes of which I have never see before. Anderson was virtually handed a starting outfield position for a defending-champion roster on a golden platter and could not capitalize on it. He was renown for being one of "Kenny's guys." and the two better center field options in the organization were cleared out of the way so that Anderson would essentially be handed the spot. And yet, the organization is out to get Brian Anderson. The way this has been playing out on this board has been cracking me up. A rookie struggled at the plate (but improved), alert the press! He played great in the field and batted decently for several months after the ASB. I don't see how anyone can justify keeping GRINDERstad out in CF right now. Does he offer a single advantage over BA?
  21. It's good that we have people who have such blatant disrespect for the law and legal process heading up the Executive Branch.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) I think that based on last year, they can only go so long with him hitting like Anderson before they give someone else a legit shot. It would help if B.A. could get some good at bats in the backup role they've given him, but so far that hasn't happened. But seriously, can they live with another CF hitting below the Mendoza line throughout April and May again? If they wait that long to give BA a shot, he'll be just as bad at the plate as Erstad. It's a lose-lose.
