  1. Is there any way they can get their hands on the appropriate servers and recover any of those emails, or any legal recourse for such a blatant action? Obstruction of justice?
  2. My prediction: Vaz will go 7.1, giving up 2 runs.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) So, I don't understand this at all, but I'm going to point it out, because it appears to be fact. Ozzie Guillen will not take Scott Podsednik out of LF for a defensive replacement late in games. Ozzie Guillen will take Rob Mackowiak out of LF for a defensive replacement late in games. Logic + Ozzie = Does Not Compute.
  4. That reminds me of one of the various times Rowand crashed into the wall in 2005 and DJ shouted "You want me on that wall, YOU NEED ME ON THAT WALL!" QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) Even if he's right, Anderson needs to STFU. These types of comments are going to do nothing but irritate Ozzie and KW. Honestly, why should he care at this point? Maybe it'll get them to ship him outta here sooner so that he can get on with his career. It's not going to go anywhere playing under Ozzie.
  5. From another forum: "The mentality I have seen most Law enforcement personnel display does not give me any confidence in their abilities. In addition, most law enforcement training is rather lacking. A firearms training facility in Nevada is running a 26 episode challenge between "trained" law enforcement personnel and "plain aficionados" that have gone through their training. The "plain aficionados" have won in the neighborhood of 80% of the competitions. Check out www.frontsight.com to learn about the facility." Would people be more comfortable if getting a concealed carry permit required training at a facility such as this? Here's another story: "Keep in mind another data-point. In Israel, everyone can carry a concealed weapon. Recently, when an Arab terrorist attempted to hijack a bus about 4-6 people wound up pointing guns at him. Off to jail he went. Later, he reportedly commented that he was never told by his 'trainers' that Israeli citizens are armed to the hilt." No Rambos. No cross-fire fatalities. Just a potentially lethal situation adverted by armed citizens who refused to just be victims.

  7. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) How about Jimbo the all star game thread starter.....im good i told you guys Well done.
  8. Could someone be so kind as to get a torrent going of the game?
  9. Dude, I was there. I swear. I was posting in the chat from my laptop...yeah.....
  10. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) My hate for Sammy Sosa grows more. WTF is he doing taking a god damn walk? He got picked off though. This has to count as somewhere in between a no-hitter and a perfect game.
  11. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) Grinder hit a ball out of the infield! But he could only grind it so far...
  12. Never mind. Thome is the only man on this team who can swing a bat.
  13. I just got back from a test. How did this offense manage to score a run in this blistering cold?
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 05:05 PM) A criminal background check would not have turned up anything that would negate his right to bear arms. His medical history would have possibly been confidential, and unless Illinois changed since I lived there, that reporting is voluntary by the applicant. Paperwork isn't automatically filed to the state? Seems like that should probably change.
  15. McDonald's commercials have been really, really annoying since "I'm loving it" started several years ago. I've begun boycotting companies if their commercials are stupid/ annoy me enough. I really don't understand how some people in marketing keep jobs based on the crap they put out.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) Ok, now this is just getting excessive. Forget the concealed weapons debate for a moment here. Can someone please explain to me exactly why a person who is found mentally ill and potentially dangerous by a court of law, has been committed temporarily to a mental institution by his parents, and is if nothing else a potential suicide threat should be allowed to walk into a store anywhere and buy a couple of guns and a mountain of ammunition? He shouldn't. I don't think he would have been able to in Illinois if the proper paperwork were filed.
  17. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:25 PM) I was trying to illustrate how ridiculous and unnecessary it is for allowing concealed weapons. There is absolutely no need for them anywhere. Not even a college campus. Except for when you're being attacked by an armed person and you have no way to defend yourself. Then its necessary. We have concealed carry laws in plenty of places and none of your fantasy situations EVER happen. Yet, we have numerous cases of armed civilians stopping a situation before it gets much, much worse. Look, I'm not arguing to make it any easier to obtain a gun. It should be harder. Getting a CCP should require extensive training and certification. But to argue that the only people who should have guns is the government is just absurd to me. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) I highly doubt that SS believes the government is going to start shooting all of its citizens tommorrow either... Well, Dick Cheney already shot someone in the face....
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) Angry gun yielding mobs is your solution? Working really well in Darfur and the Sudan. I'll take armed revolution over passive repression any day of the week and twice on July 4th.
  19. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 01:04 PM) I guess your solution of more guns to more people doesn't seem like the logical progression for a civilized society. If they had the power to overthrow Saddam, we wouldn't be there.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Apparently I did. Please explain what you are getting at. If the US government were to turn on its people, for whatever reason, it is my assertion that there would be a significant amount of defectors in the armed forces who would not participate and/ or actively try to stop such actions. Besides, Iraqis don't seem to be having much problem standing up to the might of the US army. Yes, they're getting killed in large numbers, but our military is having a hell of a time.
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) He is absolutely correct. It seems you completely missed the point of my post that you originally quoted.
