QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:48 AM) For a save the pitcher has to fulfill at least one of the following three conditions: He comes into the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one full inning. He comes into the game with the potential tying run either on base, at bat, or on deck. He pitches for at least three innings after entering the game with a lead. They mentioned during the broadcast that this is no longer the case and why Jenks didn't get the save opportunity.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 08:33 AM) Its getting a little frustrating seeing BA sit on his ass every day. KW wants him on the team, Ozzie doesn't... so Ozzie takes him but doesn't play him. Part of it, I know, is that Erstad and Pods are doing well right now. I'm not saying BA plays every third day in CF or something. But there is no reason why, in a given week of baseball, he shouldn't be relieving Dye, Erstad and Pods one game each. That gets him 3 games a week. So far, 6 games in, he has 1 AB and hasn't started yet. If this keeps up, he won't be growing or improving at all. I'd venture a guess that he'll actually start to regress at the plate if he's not seeing any live pitching. Play him or send him down. Having him ride the pine all the time doesn't do anyone any good.

1 down, 2 to go.

After a shaky start by Contrearas, this has turned into a great ballgame. -

QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 11:07 PM) Does he have more than one hit on the year? (I know he has at least one, but can't remember any others..) 2, I believe. -

Uribe showing patience at the plate just boggles my mind. -

1 of 3, definitely not. 2 of 3 is good and what's needed against good teams. 3 of 3 would be great.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 09:12 AM) It was Stroh's pounders for a while when I was in college. Returnable bottles. LOL. My grandparents were just talking about Stroh's and Hamms yesterday at Easter. Hipsters make me laugh. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 12:52 PM) i hope people start wearing plain cherokee™ tshirts that are 5 for $10 at walmart to shows and a zip up hoodie...then I'LL be the scene one. It'd be like that doug episode. You need a hoodie that zips all the way up your face, THEN you'll be the coolest guy in town!

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) I guarantee this is the only time you'll hear me say this during the season, but it won't bother me if we lose today. Of more importance is that Danks shows he can be a competent starting pitcher in the majors. Getting bested by Johan is nothing to be ashamed of. I just want Danks to pitch a good game and keep the Sox in it.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 12:51 PM) Why "waste" Jose in a game that most likely we're not going to win? Not trying to be negative, just realistic. I'd "save" Jose for a game where we have a better chance to win. And I like Ozuna in there over Prancer. Nice! I would have liked to see PK and Dye switched too, but oh well. Atleast its one less lefty out there. I don't think I like the idea of conceding games to division rivals. Johan has been beaten before and he can be beaten again.

I've seen Ozzie put out worse lineups. Could be a little better (when, exactly, will Anderson get to play?), but it could be much worse. I think people are skeptical of the Count because they think he still has some problems with his back and won't be able to pitch effectively.

Haha you are going to traumatize those kids. I love it. I've never considered Jaws a horror movie, myself.

Unfortunately I had to miss the game because I was out in Rockford checking out a GTO, but I was presently surprised by the boxscore just now. Great job by Vazquez, it looks like.

Any chance of this one getting called due to weather? I love it when its about 32 degrees below the average and feels like its 50 degrees below the average.

Great video, thanks for posting.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 08:04 PM) This is indeed true about the classification being very broad for people that aren't necessarily kiddy diddlers. There is a major difference between the case you mentioned and the kind like the perv "Let me put a blindfold on multiple second graders and have them play 'tasting games'!"teacher at Thomas Paine Elementary around here in Urbana. I'd prefer some sort of halfway house or controlled social setting for them upon their release. Making them homeless transients doesn't do anything to help anybody. If the government spent the time not only tracking them for notification purposes but also for medical (both medicine and psychological counseling) help purposes, then things would not only still be controlled for safety purposes but be much more humane. What??? QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) If you happened to be 17, and having sex with your 17 year old girlfriend, you could be jailed as a sex offender. Just remember, there are some people who get this classification that don't really deserve it. Most do, though, and I have no problem with them having a tough life. If you're both 17 I don't think its illegal. One of you'd have to be a legal adult and the other a minor, right? Yeah, our statatory rape laws need to be refined. I remember ESPN running a story a few months ago where a star student athelete who was a senior got 10 years in jail for getting a BJ from a sophomore.

QUOTE(Chi Town Sox @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 10:01 AM) I understand with what you are saying but here is a good example, would you rather Hawk's homerism? or do you remember a certain play on national TV in the ALDS.... Grounder from Uribe to Tony G.......... Chris Berman "OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Chris Berman out-homered Hawk in that series. What a disgrace. He sounded downright pissed every time the Sox took a Boston pitcher deep.

I think the idea is that you can never really rehab or reform a pedophile/ child molester. They are always going to have those urges and desires. Keeping them away from children is the best way to prevent them from doing anything again. This doesn't really bother me one bit. Don't molest children and be convicted of a crime, and you won't have a problem. Or, if its that big of a problem in Miami, move elsewhere.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) I found the last episode online. Did the last episode end with Roy outside the bar saying he is going to kill Jim Halpert? That is the last line I saw on the downloaded video. Yes, that's how it ended.

That is possibly the dumbest law I have ever heard of. Lets legislate away private charity so that people can turn only to the government in times of need! Brilliant idea, guys!
