QUOTE(scenario @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 01:06 PM) What a bunch of horse**** Brian was hitting .180 something, then went on a short binge, then had another drought, then picked it up again. Erstad was consistent. Brian wasn't. The coaches picked the guy they thought did the better job and would give us a better chance to win. If you think there's any more to it than that you're deluding yourself. What's being debated is Ozzie's questionable thought process.

My girl and I were just looking at taking a trip in May to the Caribbean. We've been looking around at the usual travel websites (travelocity, priceline, etc) and have also been checking out the all-inclusive places like SuperClubs.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) and two days later went 0-5, leading to a blistering .161 avg in April. But hey, he pushed it to .164 in May, then really broke out in June to bump it up to .174 and you still didn't answer the original question. Get over it, he SUCKED last year. We all hope he does better this year. Except for defensively. Defensively he was a stud. But defense doesn't matter, right? Oh, and the second half at the plate. He was serviceable and better than his platoon-mate. Damn rookies showing improvement over the course of their first full season and then continued improvement the following spring. But, yeah, he sucked. Still does. Clearly, Erstad has earned the CF job over this bum.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) How many impeachment trials has the Bush admin had? I'm talking about holding someone accountable WITHOUT having to go to an impeachment trial. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) Ahh yes, it's always about George W. Bush and his accountibilty. /rolly George Tenet and his medal of freedom after completely botching the Iraq intelligence. /rolly -
BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) Let's just keep harping on it...maybe all of the negativity will heal his labrum faster. He's just pointing out how ridiculous the notion that Hall was a "dime a dozen" backup C and that this didn't significantly hurt the Sox is. -

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:21 PM) I will hold out hope that this will be taken care of without an impeachment trial. This administration's track record with accountability says otherwise, though. -
How many Sox games are you planning on attending?

I'd like to get out to a handful this year. I didn't get to any last summer. -
90 to 92 with a WC spot.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 11:35 PM) Kalapse....14,730 posts Ozzie Guillen.....1 World Series Ring Fans managing the white sox from a message board.... Priceless. Not even Ozzie Guillen could have prevented that pitching staff from winning a WS. -
I think he'll be able to give the Sox what they need out of the 5th starter position over the course of the season. I've just got to remind myself over the course of the season that Danks will probably have a rough spot here or there as he adjusts and not to freak out over it.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 12:09 AM) Now THAT's insightful!!!! Remember, these Democratic f***tards are trying to do exactly what you're suggesting by screaming SCANDALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! every 30 seconds on Capital Hill - they are trying like hell to create a "grassroots" movement. They want it really, really, really bad, and it's clouding their judgement bigtime. Of course, some of us knew this was the climate we were going to get, not the "we want to work on behalf of the American people" bulls*** we were promised before the election. Now that they have the "power" back, they just can't help themselves taking a run at everything they can at the BushCo administration. Just like with the Libby case, the cover-up wound up being worse than the original incident. If the White House would stop trying to play CYA and just making s*** up all the time, maybe they'd stop perjuring themselves to Congress and the FBI. Why is it so hard for them to just go there and tell the damned truth? -
I saw it a few weeks ago. Frightening. I feel sorry for the kids. Some of my favorite lines: [kid being homeschooled] Mom: Did you get to the part where it says that science can't prove anything? Kid: Yeah! Just like Dad always says! Another good scene was the overweight preacher ranting about people being too lazy to fast in God's name.

After a few weeks of disappointing episodes coming back from the break, Lost has definitely kicked it up a notch.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 03:48 PM) Anderson may not be a gold-glove winner like Derek Jeter, but he was one of, if not the best defensive OF in baseball last year. He gets a little more accuracy out of his throwing arm and learns how to jump next to a wall so that ESPN notices him...and he'll win 10 of those. Oh I agree, but I'm willing to concede that point in this argument because an Erstad-Anderson-Dye outfield is still infinitely better than a Pods-Erstad-Dye outfield, even if Anderson is "only" above-average.
-
Anderson is not a GG, but Pods is downright awful in LF and Erstad would be much better there.
-
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Two perfect examples of meatballs that have missed the gravamen of the argument. In no time, the prospect-fanatics will arrive and complete the obliteration of intelligible baseball discussion. I have finished here. Your argument seems to be that Anderson is getting a fair shake. He's out-performing Erstad, is younger than him, has potential to be this teams CF for a long time, and has a pretty high ceiling. Yet, he's going to be sitting in AAA. How does your argument that he is getting a fair shake account for this?
-
Anderson has done everything the Sox have asked of him and is out-playing Erstad in ST thus far -- how has he NOT earned the spot?
-
The season hasn't even started and I already hate Ozzie Guillen all over again.

Stolen from Limbaugh's site: "Top 5% pay 53.25% of all income taxes (Down from 2000 figure: 56.47%). The top 10% pay 64.89% (Down from 2000 figure: 67.33%). The top 25% pay 82.9% (Down from 2000 figure: 84.01%). The top 50% pay 96.03% (Down from 2000 figure: 96.09%). The bottom 50%? They pay a paltry 3.97% of all income taxes. The top 1% is paying more than ten times the federal income taxes than the bottom 50%! And who earns what? The top 1% earns 17.53 (2000: 20.81%) of all income. The top 5% earns 31.99 (2000: 35.30%). The top 10% earns 43.11% (2000: 46.01%); the top 25% earns 65.23% (2000: 67.15%), and the top 50% earns 86.19% (2000: 87.01%) of all the income." It doesn't seem so disproportionate once you realize that those paying 96% make 86% of the money.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 09:01 AM) Nope, I've searched. But if you know of somebody who could get you the stuff... Well, I got a torrent of Dog House Music. That's the best I can find so far.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 06:38 AM) i'm guessing that connection is going to have to come from the others at some point or other. Claire never even knew her father's name, so I'd be a bit of a stretch for them to just figure it out without the others telling them. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 06:29 AM) Locke has his weekly run of "I did it my way"'s, which ended up killing the Russian, not to mention really putting an odd distrust in the air. Where did he find the C-4 exactly if he never went into the basement, and why didn't he tell anyone else? There is something we don't know going on there, and its getting to the point where I don't really trust him. He totally avoided Kate when she asked about him about saving Jack. I believe in the preview for next week that there was a very angry Locke holding a gun and shouting "I'm not here for Jack!"
-
QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) wow, what they could do with jack now. I tend to think jack will be an "other" and then in the future will remember who he is and turn against them and go back to the camp. My guess is he's biding his time and looking for a way to get out. Another solid episode.

If sucking is playing great defense and hitting .250 in the second half of your first full year, I'll take it.
