  1. Smart strategy by the Sox, imo. They're getting all their injuries out of the way very early and will be untouchable in the second half.
  2. IIRC Canadian oil is very expensive to extract and refine so unless oil prices are high it's not worth it. It also requires a lot of capital investment to increase capacity, and the demand may not still be there a year or more from now.
  3. *Exclusions apply. Not valid in the postseason. Cannot be combined with Special Teams offers.
  4. $3.2 million in a $26 Billions with a B fund is not heavily invested.
  5. Yes, it's a real shame the owners locked out the players and are negatively impacted so many people with their unrestrained greed.
  6. It was a firefight at the admin (office) building outside the plant, not an assault on the reactors themselves. This plant apparently provides 25% of Ukraine's electricity, so it makes sense to capture it from a strategic standpoint. If they want an annexed or puppeted Ukraine, they'll want these critical multi-billion dollar assets intact I'd imagine.
  7. No, at least the few large IBEW and CWA locals I've been tangentially related to. Simple negotiations as in any other business.
  8. CBA's are negotiated for millions of workers in numerous industries and trades all the time without strike threats.
  9. Don't forget who's choosing to cancel games to line their already platinum-stuffed pockets. e: McCullers deleted his twitter but here's what he said:
  10. His speech earlier this week was very explicitly anti-Leninist! The reactors have been offline for over 20 years, but there's probably important electrical distribution infrastructure (substation) there. Controlling critical infrastructure can do a lot of damage.
  11. Whatever you think of Rubio, domestic politics etc., he is the top GOP on Senate Intelligence and has basically been live tweeting the anticipated/known script of Russian actions based on US intelligence briefings since yesterday.
  12. This is their stated initiation, but they're taking airports just outside of Kiev at this point. Might be the goal is to quickly crush the Ukrainian military and force capitulation to all of Russia's demands, e.g. formal recognition of the two breakaway regions as independent nations, similar to what happened in Georgia in 2008. Or maybe it's full blown depose-the-government and install a puppet, and have "peacekeeping" forces stick around for a good long while.
