There were a lot of draft boards that were split on either Watson or Trubisky as the top QB, but Mahomes was always seen as the more risky pick than either of those two.
I'll never understand what so many scouts thought they saw in a guy who only ever played a handful of college games, though.
I wonder if there's underlying biases that play into scouts' evaluation of QB's still. What did these guys really see in a guy who couldn't win the starting job at UNC that made him as good or better a prospect as Mahomes or Watson?
