  1. Jon just doesn't have it today, of course, some defensive plays would have saved him some pitches
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Dye in a bit of a mini slump. I wonder if that catch he made on Thursday night might be causing him problems
  3. Wish AJ was behind the plate, he would go out there and give Jon a kick in the ass
  4. hamburgers, what is going on with Jon today. Eric Munson is not an offensive threat, throw a strike man
  5. I don't think the wave is a big deal - just do it in between innings. A lot of parks do that to get the crowd going just before the home team comes up. But during the game it is not cool. People pay serious cash to WATCH THE GAME now a days (except Cubs "fans" ) and when everyone starts jumping up and blocking another persons' view, you are preventing people from seeing what is going on. But I am certainly not going to freak out or physically threaten people in my section for doing it, it's just a common nuisance like the guy in front of me on his cell phone trying to look cool for the cameras if they swing our way.
  6. Even though I know sensitivity training won't change the Oz, it's a good PR move not only for the White Sox, but also for baseball. Just sit through it Ozzie, you will be doing your organization a lot of good just by showing up.
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) Jose had a close call last time. Let's make it easier for it this time. Though, Pettitte ain't no walk in the park. Pettite hasn't been the same this season, I don't see the Sox lineup having the same kind of difficulty they had last night against Reyes at all.
  8. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) Wow, this should be a great matchup between Jenks and Pujols. I would almost consider letting Garcia go out there to face him in the 9th - then call Jenks out
  9. Yikes, Sox are going to have to jack his pitch count way up next inning to get him out of there. Problem is is his location is spot on, its tough to take pitches
  10. Crede swinging on the first pitch? He knows better than that
  11. Excellent inning by Freddy there - here's to him keeping it up and the Sox rolling on the momentum
  12. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Is that Theo Epstein in your avatar? You should have the best GM in baseball in there, not some punk from New England. Yeah, I am actually a huge Red Sox fan. But I'm also loving what the White Sox have done over the years too. Hence the name soxunited. I know about Theo - but I have been brainwashed by the Sox faithful to love that man.
  13. I am really curious now, they usually have the line-up up by now on mlb.com - anyone have something concrete to tell us? Edit just checked back to mlb.com Edmonds will not be playing and Pujols will be playing first base Usual suspects for the Sox - jimedmonds15 had it right
  14. QUOTE(soxpride77 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Per Sporting News Tonight's Lineups Cards SS Eckstein CF Luna 1B Pujols 3B Rolen RF Encarnacion LF Taguchi DH Spiezio C Molina 2B Miles Sox No Edmonds? That will help Freddy's cause for sure.
  15. If Pujols is going to be back tonight, any chance that the White Sox will play all their regular starters just in case?
  16. I'm really liking Freddy's chances to get another W. His record is 17-6 in interleague games and the Cards offense is positively impotent right now without Pujols. The Sox offense should not be intimidated by Reyes at all. He has pitched 2 major league starts this season in May against the Royals and the Stros. If Reyes can only go 6 innings and give up 3 runs against the Stros, imagine what is going to happen tonight against the Sox. It's not going to be pretty at all for the Cards. Again
  17. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) I'm not apathetic to Ozzie's gay comment to Mariotti. I find it hilarious and refreshing. Today's society looks down on such use of "***" and people are bullied into silencing their use of it. There's no silencing Ozzie though, and the fact that he used it publically is a step in the right direction. Yeah, maybe it's time to bring back some racial slurs too. I'm sure the use of the n word in every day language would be hilarious and refreshing also. Whether people like it or not, the word *** is a derogatory term and considering Ozzie's previous comments in reference to gay individuals, his use of the word *** certainly creates the impression that he was calling Mariotti a homosexual. Do I like Mariotti? Hell no. But there are so many other words in the English language you can call him besides *** Just my two cents
  18. Good to see Jenks get that first K, that start in Cinci over the weekend had me worried for a minute
  19. Like many of you have mentioned, Mariotti is frothing at the mouth over the attention any nobody sports writer would saw their left arm off to have. Mariotti is going to continue to talk hamburgers - that we do know. In response, Ozzie has to learn not to be so impulsive with his responses to Mariotti's comments. I know Ozzie likes to wear his heart on his sleeve - but he has to stop feeding the fire with his inappropriate responses. Mariotti is bating him and reeling him in at every turn, and Ozzie is simply too smart for that.
  20. No point in the Cards using up the relievers - Sox ran away with this one early
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) Man. Encarnacion hitting .420 in June. Pretty good considering today is the 21th. LaRussa finally figured out that Encarcion couldn't handle the stress of being near the top of the order. Encarcion could barely make contact for the first month or so of the season.
