  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Awesome!! We can have 2004 all over again!! I'm sorry, but that is kind of a ridiculous statement. He mentions in the next sentence that we would also have 5 good starters (something we didn't have in '04). Are you telling me you wouldn't want one of the best offenses in baseball? Especially when you are backing it up with a great rotation?
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) I'm pretty sure C.C. has been the best pitcher in baseball since he came off the DL. If we are talking all baseball here, Brandon Webb has been phenomenal lately.
  3. The only reason why the bags at Jewel have the Cub logo on them is so Cub fans can wear them over their heads at games.
  4. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) That right now we really remind me of the 2004 Sox? In other words: feast or famine. We either crush them or we get shut out. Of course I'm generalizing and no, I am not throwing in the towel or claiming the sky is falling, but this Cleveland series is bringing back some unpleasant memories of '04 and how we could alternate between awesome and flat-out crappy. Hey I know the season's young and I'm hardly going code blue on this, but just thought I'd see if anybody else felt the same way. (Although one difference is that we actually swept the Angels IN Anaheim and Oakland here, so some things have changed). But man I miss the one-run wins with low scores when our pitching and defense was killing everybody and not really our bats... I wouldn't go that far. This was the first time they have been shut out all season. I expect them to bounce back tonight and to get a good dose of home field advantage when they get back tomorrow.
  5. QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) Yea i agree McCarthy is way too Much to ask, we've already seen that he can be dominating. I was thinking more along the lines of Broadway and Fields. Crawford is signed under a deal that would keep him a Sox until 2011 and never pay him more than 10 million (final year option) I think he make betweeen 2-4 mill now.
  6. Crawford has a great contract and the D-Ray's outfield is crowded. He should become available by the trade deadline. What do you think it would cost the Sox to get him? From what I hear the Rays want young pitchers.
  7. I can't stand the little b****, but I enjoy reading his column.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) When it's $20 for gas, $18 for parking, plus the price of tickets, it's hard for me to give up money for overpriced food. When my parents start giving me money or I get more, then I'll eat more. Plus, I'm as picky an eater as you will find and I don't like anything much other than the nachos and hot dogs. You're picky about the food you eat, but you eat Little Ceasars? That pizza is awful.
  9. QUOTE(zach61 @ May 17, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Player TEAM POS G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG J Uribe CWS SS 32 114 9 24 4 1 3 13 39 5 22 0 1 .246 .342 .211 B Anderson CWS OF 34 97 15 17 2 0 4 10 31 13 32 2 1 .277 .320 .175 I'll wait it out with Anderson because he makes it look so easy in CF. Who should we put in there for Uribe? Uribe is showing signs of breaking out of his slump. He had 3 hits last night and 3 hits 2 games ago. I'm not worried about him at all.
  10. How many championship teams have had a sub .200 hitter in their lineup? I know he hits 9th and the team has been doing fine without his bat, but you can't have automatic outs in your lineup. I hope he comes around, but it seems like every time he takes a step forward he takes 2 back.
  11. I love his defense, but he is brutal at the plate. How much longer does this guy get before a change needs to be made?
  12. Tell her it is $1 beer night in "The Beach" (Upper deck bleachers at the Trop).
  13. That's one hell of a way to get people's attention. What were they selling?
  14. KC up 8-5 in the 6th. Go Royals!
  15. When the pressure is off he is fine. When the pressure is on he is shaky at best.
  16. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 5, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Word. A guy could be allowing a s***load of inherited runs while keeping his ERA relatively low, but his WHIP ratio is gonna take a beating. BAA could be a little deceiving too because walks aren't taken into account. Walks are the biggest killer in baseball IMO, and WHIP almost always tells me the story. I can't really think of any exceptions. After looking at the numbers, he only has 2 walks and 12 K's. Not bad. Looks like he has been giving up a lot of Sac flies.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 5, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) Marte's ERA is nice. Vizcaino's is too. Marte's ERA is nice because he allows inherited runners to score. How soon we forget. The few times I have seen him pitch he came in with runners on, let them score, and then got out of the inning. Marte with RISP 5.40 ERA, with RISP 2/outs 9.00, w/ bases loaded 13.50 Good riddance.
  18. My girlfriend said the same thing a couple of months ago when she first saw him. I think Anderson looks like the kid from the Incredibles. Dash, I think?
  19. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) youve bet on 10 games and lost each bet? ouch No, I have bought tickets for 10 games, many many beers, food, parking, airfare, hotel, etc.
  20. Up until last night I had been to every loss this season. 3 at the Cell and 2 in KC. I evened my record up at 5-5 on Sunday. My wallet on the other hand is 0-10
  21. Your eyes are deceiving you. Baines ahs been out there every game.
  22. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Thanks a lot guys. When I went on the 4th I wound up on Lot G (on the website it says no tailgating in Lot G). It's still cool if we tailgate in Lot G correct? As far as I know you can tailgate in Lot G. Unless they changed it this season.
  23. I'm pretty sure you can park 3 hours before the game. So tailgating would begin at that time. I may be wrong. I think Lot G opens earlier than the other lots.
  24. Even AJ said he didn't care about getting his hair cut. He said it is starting to bother him since he has not had a cut since last July. He also said that he had a bet with Crede to see who would get theirs cut first and he won the bet (Crede got a trim not too long ago) so he is ready to cut it and has a "hair appointment" later this week.
