QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 08:29 PM)Hudson is leaving the game in the 7th inning with an injury. Possibly a back or oblique. Not good.
And suddenly, I'm sad again.
-
Hudson with 10 K's in 6 innings against a lineup including Stanton & Morrison? Oh Sweet Jesus.
Gotta get through that trade deadline tomorrow with him still a member of the Sox org.
-
Kanny's in a rain delay in the 7th, so Dex is likely done. His line: 7 IP, 2 runs (1 HR), 5 hits, 0 BB, 5 K's.
-
5 more games in that dump.
I wonder if it got a bit "cooler" in the Dome during Fields & CQ's last at-bats.
Danks pitched well, CQ should've had a couple of hits, and Linebrink pitched a decent 8th.
Here's hoping Burls brings his best stuff again tomorrow night.

Slowey done for the season.

From the New York Times:
July 27, 2009Twins' RHP Slowey Says He Will Miss Rest of Season
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Filed at 6:29 p.m. ET
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Twins right-handed starter Kevin Slowey says he will likely miss the rest of the season after having surgery to fix a bone chip in his right wrist.
Slowey told reporters before Monday night's game against the Chicago White Sox that the operation requires two to four months of rehab and recovery.
Slowey (10-3) says he had a bone chip that was aggravated when he was hit by a line drive during a start last September. He pitched with the injury until July 3, when he left a game after three innings. He went on the disabled list the next day.

Looks like Thompson's about to be in the fold.
From the LA Times:
Baseball: Thompson set to sign with White Sox
Outfielder Trayce Thompson from Santa Margarita, a second-round draft choice of the Chicago White Sox, has reached agreement with the team and is scheduled to fly to Chicago this weekend and sign, UCLA baseball Coach John Savage confirmed Friday.Thompson, who had signed with the Bruins, became a top prospect this spring with lots of hard work. He had said his dream was to play professionally, and that's apparently where he's headed.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 09:21 PM)Fernando Hernandez pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
Cool. Thanks for the update
-
'kay, Gameday & MILB both suck ass. Neither is updating the B-Ham score after the 8th. Last out recorded was David Cook to end the 8th. Is it raining in B-ham or something?
-
Daniel Black with the GW HR for Kanny.
-
JorDanks 2-3 with an RBI single. Back up to .292, slowly creeping back towards .300.
-
8 scoreless innings for Hudson, 2 hits, 7 K's. 2nd best pitching performance in the organization this week.
I wonder who had the best....
-
Hudson so far through 6 innings, no runs, 2 hits, 1 BB, 4 K's.
-
Didn't see one posted, so:
Charlotte trailing 1-0 in the 6th
Hudson getting it done through 5 innings. Viciedo with a blast.
Winston-Salem getting smashed 7-0
Morel with the lone hit for the Dash
Phegley with a homer, Mitchell with a triple.
-
B-ham wins 1-0 in the bottom of the 9th on a walkoff single by Gartrell. Ely with 7 strong innings, 3 hits, 2 BB, 6 K's. Mabee with 2 shutout innings for the win.
-
No-no go bye-bye. CJ Retherford double for B-Ham. Ely's given up 3 hits, no runs through 6.
-
Montgomery trying to exact revenge for the parent club tonight. B-Ham being no-hit through 5 innings. On the other side, Ely's only given up 2 hits, 2 BB, 4 K's.

It's nice to see that fans aren't the only ones that get psyched up for baseball history.
From Ken Davidoff's blog on Newsday.com:
For the moment, I'm going to post here, since our new system is not yet capable accepting comments. What's the point of blogging if you can't get feedback and exchange ideas, right? I feel like I'm going off the grid, sort of like Krusty did in this episode of "The Simpsons" when he broadcast his show from "the civil defense shack in the remote Alkali Flats of the Springfield Badlands."Anyway, I was fortunate enough to catch the end of Mark Buehrle's perfect game
, on a TV in the A's clubhouse at Yankee Stadium. The entire room was riveted.
The funniest part: Bob Geren and his coaches were watching along with the players in the main dressing area, but in a side room, out of the media's view, the broadcast feed was apparently coming in a second or so quicker. So when DeWayne Wise made his absolutely amazing catch of Gabe Kapler's would-be home run, we heard a yelp in the other room, and then we saw the play.
So what did Geren and his coaches do? They bolted for the other room, of course. They wanted to be on top of the situation.
Congrats to Buehrle, and to Wise. And to White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, for executing perhaps the greatest defensive substitution (Wise in center field) in baseball history.
-
Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News just gave props to Buehrle.
Nice.
-
That's normally a way the Sox would lose to the Twins in the trashbag dome. Nice to see them get a bit of their own medicine. Congrats A's.
-
Gio gave up the Thome special to Morneau. A 3 run shot & a slam. He gave up 11 of the Twins runs. Kudos to Oakland's pen for 6 1/3 innings of 1 run ball.
-
Twins led the A's 12-2 in the 2nd inning. Then it became 13-7 in the 7th.
It's now 14-13 Oakland. They put a 7 spot highlighted by a Holliday slam.
Minny's pen = EPIC FAIL

QUOTE (Baines3 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:24 PM)Beckman appears to be set for 3B for now. Fields is as good as gone to me after the season.

Probably won't happen, but both Hudson & DexCarter should be on BA's Hot Prospect sheet tomorrow. Hudson should've been on there last week when he outdueled one of their constant faves, Jarrod Parker.
