  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 07:05 PM) Because this organization is loyal to a fault, and most of our minor league coaching staff are former White Sox. Fine. Hire other guys. I agree fully about spending more on coaches...it's a drop in the bucket compared to the bonuses we're going to be paying out and the gamble we have taken on these guys.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 06:39 PM) MiGo will likely to be traded now, with Rey Lopez the only logical candidate to replace him Nobody wants to watch Danish as a starter. If someone will take him, for sure.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 06:15 PM) I'm hopeful for Collins becoming a better hitter, but the Sox front office better be looking long and hard at the people instructing these guys in the minors. They cannot afford having bad hitting results anymore. s***, what does it take??
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 06:19 PM) Victor Diaz is fun bad. 3.75 WHIP Holy s***
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) Hawk said recently they're practicing "butcher boy" plays....Hanson is consistently the best. Hanson tried it in a game last week, actually.
  6. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) We are in 2019 before we have any chance of competing for the central division, there should not be much pressure at all. Yoan just needs to settle in and he will be just fine. Come on, you think he's worried about the standings right now or the team? The guy is trying to play Major League Baseball. He has been waiting his entire life for this. Anyone that doesn't think he is feeling massive pressure/nerves is missing the boat here.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) I wrote about it today: https://www.bagadonutssports.com/blog/2017/...g-but-should-he What do you guys think? I think the vast majority of folks agree with you. I do think there is a place for bunting particularly in the era of the shift, and it kills me when guys cannot exploit that. I also think, given the amount of men left on 3rd base with less than 2 outs, there is more of a place for the safety squeeze or bunt hits to put pressure on defenses. If Rick is giving our guys OTJ for use in the future, um, fine, but why are we not "practicing" to bunt for more hits? Maybe it's a brilliant way of tanking even more, in an ingenious plan handed down by the FO? Doubtful. I think he should be questioned and I am happy he is being questioned. Hopefully, as others have said, the analytics team will sit down with him and get it fixed.
  8. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 02:26 PM) We knew this was going to happen with Moncada, better to let him figure out major league breaking stuff in counts and games that actually matter. He has a terrific eye and will adjust to this stuff here. Not gonna see the same pitches in AAA He actually got kind of hosed on the third strike of the second strikeout...I thought it was outside.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) Yikes Moncada. You weren't swinging at that your first two games here. Let's not start free swinging. Hopefully the stage got him a bit and he'll calm down tomorrow.
  10. Why are Melky and Yoan hitting righty against Duensing when his splits are much better against righties?
  11. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 01:58 PM) I'm following on Game Day but Davidson hit that out of Wrigley? It was destroyed.
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 01:55 PM) Davidson says suck it Feeky. Tyler will never hit a ball that far, ever.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 01:12 PM) Fine, bring in DRob Beat me to it.
  14. QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 01:11 PM) I have some bad news... Fine! Bring in Robertson!
  15. Btw, I disagree with wanting to see Saladino more at 3rd. I don't know that Davidson ever will turn into the player he could have become, but we need to find out.
  16. So this morning I am dropping my kid off at his grandparents and listening to Sirius XM MLB Channel. I hear Mike Ferrin (sp?) say that the Twins were supposed to trade "Nick" Burdi to the Twins for Jaime Garcia but the Braves backed off once they saw his medicals. I'm thinking WTF is he talking about? Burdi is on the White Sox and his name is f***ing Zack, and he sure as s*** isn't getting moved for Jaime Garcia. I get home and google it and sure enough, his brother had TJ surgery and pitches for the Twins. I had no freaking clue.
  17. Recently heard Catfish and the Bottlemen as well. Reminds me a lot of a band I used to love when I first moved to Vegas called the Kooks. Went to see Third Eye Blind at the Joint here in Vegas this past Saturday night. I was a huge 3EB fan when their first few albums came out. Their debut album really shaped me, as I was 20 at the time and going through a lot of s***, trying to figure out who the hell I was and what the hell I wanted to do with my life. I enjoyed Blue and even Out of the Vein, but nothing ever struck me quite like their self-titled album. Anyways, was lucky enough that they basically opened with 4-5 songs and then Stephan Jenkins came out and did a little talking about the 20th anniversary of that first album, and then said they'd come back in a few minutes and play the album front to back. I'm not sure if they did that the entire tour, but I couldn't have been more pleased. Unfortunately, the band really isn't the same anymore, but they still put on an awesome show. Really took me back to all the different s*** going on in my life back in the late 90's and early 00's. I suppose that is truly the beauty of music...the way you identify with it and forever associates certain songs/albums with certain times in your life. Truly amazing. I never really understood people who don't love music.
  18. This stuff drives me crazy, folks. Good news: The White Sox will try to win the games. Better news: The White Sox suck and so they will prolly lose anyways. Best news: Cheer for whatever the hell you want - it doesn't make a damned difference.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 22, 2017 -> 07:51 AM) After his play this week I think he should be sent down for some time. The not hustling, the no approach at bats, the baserunning and failure to cover on defense. Get him out of spotlight and time to clear his head and recalibrate. Phantom DL trip maybe. Dan Hayes has been very vocally against this. Seems to think he's been very affected by the stuff off the field. Not saying I disagree, but my guess is he knows things we don't.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 12:41 PM) The worst, most unwatchable baseball overall will probably be the next 3 months. Close your eyes when all but ~3 guys are playing. Yeah, I didn't mean the quality of play. I guess I read this more as in terms of misery for the fans. I don't care about losing...I just want to have a reason to watch.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) Eh you'll get to watch Rey and Gio and Yoan on a regular basis. I agree. I think the worst is likely over. I know I will enjoy watching Moncada and the SP start to develop. This past 3 months, while a bit exciting due to Avi and Davidson and others playing well, was nervewracking. I didn't like the way Q was going. I am very happy that we've gotten good returns for all of our key assets. Now we can enjoy on watching some of these guys grow up in front of our eyes.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 09:54 AM) If this is all it took for such a prospect, we could've given them David Holmberg or Swarzak or something. An unbelievably lopsided trade. Yeah, Holmberg might be a reasonable comparison.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 09:41 AM) Delmon Young had no range, no instincts, and not much of an arm. He was awful defensively. Wite, is it possible a player's WAR could be somewhat significantly disconnected though from his actual impact on wins and losses in a given season?
