  1. Wouldn’t he be breaking one of those unwritten rules if he came back? Don’t f*** with a streak. Keep on winning boys!
  2. Looks like he went to the A's as part of the Montas/Trivino tade with NYY. He's 2-1 with a 2.63 ERA and 1.317 WHIP, pitching 5-6 innings per start since then. Not a big strikeout guy either. Not bad, but not great. Plus he's a LHP. With Cease going for us, the odds should be in our favor.
  3. Not to mention the Guardians and Twins play each other 8 times over that span.
  4. But you’re assuming that any of those guys would perform the same with the Sox as they have with the Twins. The Twins always seem to get more out of their players, and the Sox end players’ careers.
  5. Then Robert should go on the paternity list and Sosa should be called up. At a minimum, he can be used as a pinch runner in a late game when our mind-numbingly slow hitters actually get on base.
  6. If he was, he would have done this a long time ago.
  7. I feel like that explains a huge part of my frustration watching these guys all year. They swing at offspeed low and away pitches and other garbage out of the zone, and when it's in the zone, they either don't swing, swing and miss, or swing and fail to make good contact (either foul it off or easy groundout, often into a double play).
  8. It’s like I’m watching the baseball version of the Washington Generals. The Sox are just there to make the other team (whoever they are) look good. Everyone playing against the Sox shows effort to the point of making highlight reels. The Sox players can’t run to first without hurting themselves. I feel like that game where the Sox just hit 12 singles with no extra bare hits would have been 6 singles and 6 extra base hits for just about any other team. Fixing this can’t be as simple as firing Tony, can it? I mean the potential was there and then shit fell apart when he showed up. Everyone on the team has underperformed according to their career numbers. Is that just a fluke?
  9. Minor disaster. Give it time. Total disaster is coming.
  10. Harrison is 10 for 19 against Lyles. Not a huge sample size, but I'm guessing that has somethig to do with it.
  11. So he's not in the starting lineup for the 7th straight game. And even if they were to put him on the IL today, the Sox couldn't backdate it any further than yesterday because he "played" on Wednesday. Totally worth it.
  12. Does it have anything to do with starting a clock on Yolbert by bringing him up whereas that clock has already started for Romy when they called him up before? I have to admit, I don't understand all of those rules, and I know they changed recently, but it seems like that would be a huge factor.
  13. I'm feeling good about this one, and that's saying something (I'm a horribly pessimistic fan). There was an energy in the last two games that has been missing all year. Coming back twice against the top team in the AL got this team's juices flowing. Moncada is swinging like he's trying to hit the ball rather than trying not to miss, and I think him coming through (twice) and showing excitement about it got others pumped. I think Luis will be ready to play and I think he'll be amped. And I think Kopech has a little chip on his shoulder from being pulled early last game and will have a little something extra on his fastballs tonight, which makes them killer pitches. I think even Tim Anderson is seeing the change and willing his hand to heal faster so that he can be back earlier than expected!
  14. "Well the fans just aren't coming out like we had hoped, so unfortunately, we don't have the funds necessary to keep the refrigeration units running at full capacity, so..."
  15. That's how he hurt himself. Maybe he's gun shy and afraid his leg will fall off.
