Was one of the few on here that criticized the Grandal signing. Got roasted for it. I know it’s unfair but I’m already over him.

I’m fascinated that the Royals didn’t do the same with game 2 starter Brady Singer. That guy could be their future ace and they’re going nowhere this season or next.

This isn’t a question of Madrigal vs Garcia right now. It’s a question of Madrigal vs Nicky Delmonico (the guy Ricky plays every day and bats ahead of Lubo). Because if Madrigal were starting at 2b, Garcia would presumably be starting in RF in lieu of Nicky.

Eloy out of the starting lineup tonight. Just hoping it’s only a couple game absence versus trip to the IL. My guess is they’re still deciding. Goins buys them some versatility until then.

Tells me they wanted someone with more versatility and 2b in particular to free up Garcia for the OF again. Also, Goins can play a little OF himself in a pinch, Cuthbert cannot.

Sounds like Eloy could miss some time with that Cuthbert move.

Exactly but 24 games right? If they go 15-9 in those 24 games, they simply need to go 16-20 against everyone else to make the playoffs. Seems feasible to me.

We only got a #1, #5 starter with upside, and a future MLB pitcher for Adam Eaton. Maybe Sox fans thought we traded Christian Yelich?

I’m enjoying the moment and super pumped for the next 6 years of White Sox baseball. Like I said, I’m really hoping Moncada, Robert, and Eloy are lifelong Sox players (or into their early 30s at least) but I recognize that’s probably not realistic either.

Anybody that selected UNDER want to change their pick yet?

I am. That’s why I want it to last as long as possible.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s fantastic they locked up most of the core thru 2025 but I guess I’m greedy and wanted to see Moncada, Robert, and Eloy all together thru 2027 at least. I guess it’s still possible but I’d say unlikely at this point. Just sucks to have this weird year this year, with next year possibly being just as weird and then the potential CBA issues after that. Worried it’s going to take a big bite into what should be great seasons from our Sox and greatly condense the window.

Yea for a couple years only but I wanted him to be a lifelong Sox player extended well beyond 2025. He’s going to be near impossible to extend beyond 2025 at this rate. Yes, he will be 30 but Anthony Rendon was 30 this past offseason and inked $245M.

I’d put Robert third and bump everyone behind him down one spot. The combination of speed and power from TA, Moncada, and Robert at the top of the lineup would be a sight to behold. They’d be doing an awful lot of first inning damage, that’s for sure.

At the start of last year I suggested 10/$200. I highly doubt that gets it done now. Just looking at what guys like Machado, Betts, Harper, Rendon, etc are getting.

Tlongo still around these parts? Miss the days (two years ago) when he would argue about how much of a bust Moncada was. Should have extended this guy early last year when the number to do so was still reasonable.

I’ve never been a big fan of Grandal. Was one of the few on here that wasn’t overly thrilled when they signed him. Hopefully he proves me wrong. I’m fine with Abreu in the middle of the order this year. He’s still a good hitter with men on base.

Didn’t foresee the Grandal signing and I’d rather have JDM at DH than EE, but this everyday lineup is really starting to come together. At least we can slide Jose to DH next year when Vaughn is promoted. TA, Moncada, Robert, Eloy, Vaughn, Jose, Grandal, Pederson, Madrigal sounds amazing next year and beyond.

Always sucks to lose the opener but there were a lot of positives in this game. All I heard all offseason is how no White Sox rookie ever comes out of the gate strong. Said Lubo was different and I hope you guys are seeing why. The kid is a monster. Moncada doesn’t look like he missed a beat and Eloy looks like the stud hitter we all expected him to be when he was first traded for. This lineup is going to score a lot of runs. The only question is whether or not the starting pitching will come through. But I feel confident about their chances of making the playoffs this season barring significant injuries, illnesses, etc.

Heuer looks great. I could see him being used in high leverage situations once he gets some experience.

Except one is great in every other phase of the game while the other well I don’t think he’s good in any.

I know it’s only preseason but this team looks super confident right now. And they’re having a lot of fun out there. Hope it carries into this weekend when the games count.
