  1. That’s why I said if the dudes can hit (I expect Robert, TA, Eloy, Madrigal, Abreu, Puig to hit) then who cares which side of the plate they hit from? Moncada is a switch hitter and feel free to plug in backup catcher/DH Collins and backup 1b/DH Reed against righty starters if you want a more balanced lineup. I’m pretty sure those last two guys are going to be on the team next year.
  2. The Yankees spent most of the first half with an all right handed lineup (except Gardner who was one of their worst hitters). They seemed to manage just fine.
  3. If they can play, I really don’t care. If you want lefties, Collins and Reed have a good chance of making the roster next year.
  4. He’s actually a perfect fit as a placeholder the next couple years. I sure hope someone from the collective group of minor league outfield prospects emerges by then.
  5. It’s not saying much but Puig would be a huge upgrade from what the Sox have thrown out in RF this year. I’d do 3/30. What is that worth on the open market 3.5 expected WAR over the life of the contract? Yea, seems about right to me and low risk all things considered.
  6. I agree RF is a black hole but I think they will fill it rather affordably in a few months with a Puig signing. Makes a ton of sense for both sides. I’m not saying Puig is better than Benintendi, simply that he only costs $$$ rather than prospect currency (which is what Colome and Bummer are considering they could be traded for prospects otherwise) and the Sox will provide him with a comfortable environment surrounded by fellow Cubans Robert, Abreu, and Moncada.
  7. Perhaps but not every fast guy is a plus defensive OF (see 2019 Mallex Smith).
  8. He was fast as hell but often had poor jumps/routes and absolutely no arm strength.
  9. He was very average for the Sox in LF.
  10. Anyways, I think the Sox sign Puig this winter to play RF next year, the obvious Cuban connection and a guy the Sox have long admired or so it seems. LF - Eloy, CF - Robert, RF - Puig looks a hell of a lot better than what they put out there this year.
  11. Pods and Dye weren’t exactly gold glovers with the Sox and I expect Robert to be better than Rowand in CF.
  12. A lot of cash and an MLB ready prospect (Madrigal? Holt is a FA I believe). hard pass for me
  13. What’s his true level? Last year or 2017 and 2019? Is he that much better than Puig or Castellanos that we should be giving up legit MLB ready prospects for him? If they want Colome and Abreu that’s one thing but he’s not that much better than the other two impending free agents that cost only $$$.
  14. If the White Sox want a 2 WAR OF, they should simply sign Castellanos in the offseason. Should only cost money since I can’t see the Tigers extending a QO. Puig would be an option as well.
  15. I don’t see the match personally. And I’m not sure how much Benintendi is actually worth with 3 years of control remaining and heading into arbitration next season as basically a 2 WAR player.
  16. Funny how quickly things change. 3 months ago nearly all White Sox fans would have gladly traded Moncada for Benintendi. Now I’m not sure I’d even give up Andrew Vaughn for Benintendi.
  17. Me thinks the .431 BABIP is unsustainable
  18. Remember this? Maybe the scout was right? If the Sox have a perennial 10 WAR player on their hands that alters the entire outlook of the franchise. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1239520/amp
  19. Very impressive company. Not that I’m advocating it but the Sox could bring back a Sale, Eaton, or Quintana-like haul in a trade of Moncada this winter.
  20. 3/4, 2 homers, 7 RBI is a pretty good debut though
  21. He’s going to do it again isn’t he
  22. Is that Sox 2021 lineup looking pretty good still?
