  1. Which gives you an idea of how guys like Whitley and Wright would perform at the big league level if called up now.
  2. Everyone’s AZL darling, Whitley, has a 10.80 ERA lol
  3. And Keller has a 1.62 WHIP. He’s averaging a walk every two innings...
  4. Cease has performed better than any other Top 100 MLB prospect that’s pitched this year in AAA. Seriously, check the AAA stats of the top 10 RHP and LHP per MLB pipeline’s list. Some truly atrocious ERAs.
  5. I just came across a resume this morning with the name “Eloy Madrigal.” No joke. It’s a sign fellas!
  6. Take 4 of the next 5 and end the week with a season record over .500, that’d be something completely unexpected on May 19th of this season.
  7. Yes and a back end of Herrerra, Colome, and Kimbrel would REALLY shorten games for the starting staff.
  8. Yea that’d work...For reference, Harper and Machado are at 139 and 119 for their careers, respectively.
  9. 26.9 K%, 135 wRC+. One week later and his strikeout rate jumped a bit but maintaining his wRC+ at a very nice level.
  10. Considering the start he had, it’s very impressive he’s basically back to 0 fWAR for the season because he had dug himself such a deep hole early on
  11. I mean, adding a hall of fame closer to pair with Colome and Herrera would be lethal. Game over with a lead heading into the 7th. And if Gio, Lopez, and Nova continue doing what they’re doing, Keuchel slides into the rotation along with Cease and that might actually be a league average starting rotation. The offense is already a tick above league average as is.
  12. I’m not suggesting they do this or that it’s realistic but, hypothetically, if the Sox signed both Kimbrel and Keuchel in three weeks could they compete for the division title this year? Indians are a shell of their 2016/2017 teams and I imagine the Twins will fall back a bit after their extremely hot start.
  13. I remember when Cargo was Cleveland’s big FA signing over the winter. Knew that guy would suck outside Coors.
  14. I think it was just a week ago that Santana had a higher OPS than Abreu. Not even close any more.
  15. Checks to see who’s starting at catcher...Castillo...put this one down for a L but would be thrilled if they prove me wrong!
  16. “Early in the game, Giolito and catcher James McCann realized that the fastball-changeup combination that allowed him success in his last start against Cleveland -- in which he threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings -- was not going to work against the Blue Jays, and they altered their plan. According to Statcast, the hurler threw only 45 fastballs among his 105 pitches, going to his slider and curveball a total of 31 times.” this is the type of stuff that doesn’t show up in a catcher’s “advanced metrics” but is invaluable to a pitcher and team’s success.
  17. Don’t think he will get the votes over a guy like Gary Sanchez but he’s currently #2 in fWAR out of AL catchers.
  18. $300M/10, nevertheless, the principle is the same
  19. Thank god he didn’t go 4/4 by signing Machado. The organization can easily recover from misses on short term expiring contracts like Jay, Alonso, and Castillo but a miss on a $300M player is not something this organization can overcome. Would have stopped the rebuild dead in it’s tracks to have $30M per year tied up in a player that will be producing as an average regular during the Sox’ contention window.
  20. Or if Giolito put up 4 WAR season after a negative WAR season last year and negative for his career pre-2019
