  1. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Right now...I wouldn't do that. Abreu doesn't have the power numbers he used to have...I think on the game yesterday they were saying he's hitting a hr every 44 at bats where he used to be around 1 every 19 abs. He's not what he used to be. I'll take the cheaper not-what-he-used-to-be over the more expensive one. i was thinking the same thing until the last two days abreu has actually impressed me quite a bit with his patience at the plate over the last two games and is the high OBP kind of guy the sox could use right now. i realize his power isnt near that of dye's but hes going to hit close to .300 and have an OBP near .400, id take that right now
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) Doesn't matter....if they get the tying run to 2nd base, you have to play the match-up there. I can't wait for the Ozzie apologists to defend that move. didnt ozzie get tossed?
  3. all they are saying is they heard a "pop" on his swing
  4. just a guess, hes done for a minimum of 15 days but more likely longer he couldnt even put any weight on his ankle when leaving the field
  5. at least we dont have to hear anymore about how s***ty erstad is guess some of you are going to have to find someone else to nag on...oh wait, ozzie's still here isn't he? nevermind then
  6. we need a clutch 2 out hit here out of iguchi lets give the piranhas a bit of their own medicine
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 23, 2007 -> 01:15 PM) I still want his lift and pull ass fired. yea he must have changed his coaching philosophy last week
  8. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 23, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) The Sox are gonna climb that thing fast. I dont want to be next to Washington, stat wise ever again. yea i would expect them to crack the top 20 before July
  9. We aren't last! http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/aggreg...amp;season=2007 in all seriousness though, i guess he has been teaching better the last week or so
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ May 21, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) The Palmiero story is true. just admit it you dont like erstad but its hard to argue the fact that he has more clutch hits than any other player on the sox this year the dude isnt fazed in pressure situations
  11. QUOTE(rafacosta @ May 21, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) Don't jinx them! i dont believe in jinxs
  12. thank you for the slumpbuster cubs! the boys are back!
  13. QUOTE(PartyForFree @ May 17, 2007 -> 07:50 PM) Yes, now we wait. Once PSO verifies your info with Absolute Poker, they send you an email telling you to launch their chat application. Then they call you to verify that you're a real person, then it takes a couple of days and they deposit the money. Double-check your PSO account to check the status of your promotion, just in case your spam filter grabs their email. how do i know the status of my promotion? I don't see anything under the promotions tab that tells me anything other than other available promotions, I'm confused.
  14. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 14, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) Solid pitching is much better IMO. If you have solid pitching, you are going to win ballgames. Even if that is by getting HRs only, scoring on errors, etc. Solid hitting also doesn't always translate to scoring a lot of runs. If you look at the playoff teams from the Wild Card era, a very high percentage had a top pitching staff, where as the Cleveland Indians in the late 90's were the only good offense/bad pitching to make it deep in the playoffs. Solid pitching >>> Solid hitting yea good point and i tend to agree with you QUOTE(fathom @ May 14, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) The Sox's offense was horrible at the end of last season. Do you not recall getting shut down by terrible pitchers like in the Boston series at Fenways, etc. This offensive slump is just a carry over from last year's bad offense in the 2nd half. i know the offense wasn't good at the end of last year but it wasn't this bad we averaged 4.48 runs/game in september of 2006 we are averaging 3.85 runs/game so far this season
  15. I know a lot of people are fed up with the offensive production out of thw white sox these days, but here's an honest question, would you rather see the sox play the way they have been playing this year or the way they played the end of last year? No offense, solid pitching OR no piching, solid hitting? I can't make up my mind as to which is more frustrating of the two but I think that last year was quite possibly a bit more frustrating, what do you guys think?
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) Not to be a complete dick, but why didn't you just post this in the post game thread instead of making a separate thread? because i felt that ozzie deserved his own thread for his success since he gets his own thread following games when people rip on him i think thats a good reason eh?
  17. guess i'm the only one that feels this way oh well
  18. Thanks for the win last night Ozzie. For as much heat as he takes he managed a great game yesterday between how he handled the bullpen/Buerhle and how he handled the starting lineup. How many people would have hit Uribe 2nd? And the late game pinch runner with Terrero. Great game all arround Oz
  19. just got to get a new CF since thats our biggest problem this year
