  1. Kinda feels like every time Crochet takes the bump he could throw a perfect game / no hitter.
  2. See you in August Lubo... If the Sox are somehow offered the Cease trade package minus the mlb vet (Wilson) in December, you’re accepting it right? I doubt they even receive an offer that good but if they do I’m taking it and not looking back.
  3. Got it. Lefty starting pitchers are hard to gauge though because sometimes soft throwers can be very successful if they mix speeds well and have good control.
  4. And people called me crazy when I suggested the Sox trade Robert last offseason. He finally had a healthy season, sell high. Might not even play 50 games this season. Good luck trying to get even half the value they could have gotten next offseason.
  5. Is Gordon a top 30 prospect for the Sox? I don’t see him on any lists. Should he be?
  6. I was responding to the guy lamenting over the fact the Sox won’t have a top 2 pick in 2025. As you said, does it even matter?
  7. Oh, don’t worry. They’ll have a bottom 3 record again next season too for a great shot at a top 2 pick in 2026.
  8. After watching Grandal for four years behind the plate, he’s a sight for sore eyes.
  9. Agreed. People can rip on Maldonado’s defense all they want but he’s clearly providing defensive value that Grandal didn’t. Whether or not it shows up in fangraphs I don’t care.
  10. Stuff you Stuff you’d never see in prior years. Good baseball!
  11. I didn’t say it’s better but it’s not worse either.
  12. s%*# teams? Not sure about that. Tigers look decent, Braves are likely a top 3 offense in MLB, and Royals averaged 4 runs/game against Twins/Orioles (not great but not terrible either).
  13. I mean it’s wild to me that this pitching staff might have a top 10-15 ERA in mlb when you look at this collection of no names and/or rejects.
  14. The offense is historically bad but there’s no doubt the pitching/defense has improved. Too bad the former top mlb prospects - Eloy, Robert, Vaughn, Moncada - can’t hit / stay healthy.
  15. Agree to disagree. I personally see more value pumping the defense up to inflate the pitchers’ value. I think this gives you far better odds of returning decent prospects than Rosario, Grichuk or Taylor. Those kinds of players just don’t return anything meaningful at trade deadlines.
  16. Those three guys would return absolutely nothing at the trade deadline just like the position players Getz signed. At least the position players Getz signed play very good defense which helps the pitchers about to be traded.
  17. And none of those guys move the needle at all. You aren’t flipping those guys for anything meaningful at the deadline.
  18. Those are the ones I mentioned and Crochet of course. Fedde doesn’t seem like the type that’s going to get a ton of strikeouts so he needs a solid D behind him. He reminds me a lot of Lorenzen and I think could have a very similar first half to what Lorenzen produced for the tigers last year. Lorenzen returned a 45 FV prospect last July (that could be a top 15 prospect for the Sox). I’d gladly take a return of that and another flier for Fedde. As for Crochet, I have no idea how to asses his value. It could be insane if he keeps this up for another 2.5 months.
  19. Who are all these players you speak of? You haven’t mentioned any yet!
  20. Because there are none (I can check the list too)
  21. @WhiteSox2023 I’m still waiting for this long list…
  22. Nope. Not with the budgetary constraints he was under. What useful players were available for less than $5M?
