  1. And people laughed at the idea of the Sox setting the loss record in the “weak” AL Central lol. AL East overrated every single year over the past decade.
  2. Two weeks ago I thought they were a lock for 125 losses. Surprised they ended up with “only” 121 and better win % than 1962 Mets. I don’t think 125 would have been touched again in my lifetime but I think 121 certainly will (perhaps by the Sox next season).
  3. So one hall of famer and one bust. Sounds about right. I’ll happily take my chance with 50% odds of landing a hall of famer in 2026 with the first pick
  4. That turned out pretty good. I guess we better get used to the name Grady Emerson around here.
  5. I don’t follow those teams as closely but I think I answered my question regarding twins fans lol
  6. Did you get “enjoyment” out of the 2022 season? Because I found that 81 loss season far less “enjoyable” than this season even. I wonder if Twins and Mariners fans enjoyed this season?
  7. We don’t even know if Jerry will still be living in 3 years. A lot can change in 3 years.
  8. Ok, I’ll bite on that. Will you go away if they don’t lose 100 games in each of the next 3 seasons? I will if they do.
  9. I never said I felt “good” about this season but thanks for putting words in my mouth
  10. Yes, guys like Harper, Cole, and Correa make a big difference.
  11. #10 and ~#40 in 2025 and #1 and ~#40 in 2026. Keep building.. Fangraphs already has the Sox as the #2 farm in MLB right now and there are additional reinforcements coming via the draft and trades the next few years. We’ll see where they’re at in 3 years. Tigers won 95 games 3 years after their 119 loss season. Anything is possible!
  12. Exactly. It’s all about perspective. 2022 and 2023 seasons were so much worse for me as a fan than this season. I could care less about the record. 2022 they only lost 81 games and it was 10x worse than this season to me.
  13. If they’re going to miss the playoffs, I’d rather they be the worst team in the league each of the next several seasons. 2026 #1 pick here we come!
  14. Honestly, I was significantly more disappointed and frustrated with their 101 loss season last year even though this team will be ~20 losses worse. You’re free to have a different opinion.
  15. He got hurt, I’m sure you’re happy about it too..
  16. If you’re sitting at home in October what does it matter? The regular season is a failure.
  17. You’re certainly excited about the record I can see but I could care less. 162 losses is the same to me as 70 losses if you’re still sitting at home in October.
  18. 146 far exceeded what anyone here thought he could do, including you
  19. 17.1 IP, 2 BB, 29 K in the month of September. I think that’s a pretty strong finish lol. I’m just happy his arm didn’t fall off like everyone was expecting.
  20. He’s pitching better in September than any other month this season per advanced metrics like FIP BUT he pitched his worst two months in July and August so it’s both. edit: actually, he had a lower FIP in May so September is his second lowest FIP month of the season. He wasn’t very good in April so to my point I don’t see a strong correlation between his workload this season and effectiveness. He’s been all over the map month to month but generally speaking he seemed to be most effective when his workload wasn’t limited.
