QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) what's even funnier is that people are actually annoyed by having to read something in CAPS, as if someone were genuinely yelling. I love this internet thing. EXACTLY BRO. THEY THINK JUST BECAUSE YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS YOU ARE A TROLL AND A CHILD. THESE ARE PROBABLY THOSE THAT NEVER GET OUT OF THEIR MOMS BASEMENT TO SEE THE REAL WORLD.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 08:36 PM) Evidently not. SO LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR. TURN YOUR DAMN CAPS LOCK OFF OR DON'T COME BACK (I'LL BE HAPPY TO ARRANGE THAT FOR YOU IF YOU WOULD LIKE). CLEAR ENOUGH? MY CAPSLOCK KEY HAS BEEN STUCK EVER SINCE I SPILL MT DEW ON IT 4 YEARS AGO.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:18 AM) Dont let them hate on you. You are the Princeton Grad who works as an astro-physicist, dates only supermodels, bench presses Rosie O'Donnell, can leap small buildings with a single bound, and fights crime at night. Basically you are a better looking, more successful version of Tom Brady with Chuck Norris toughness. You are a hero, men want to be like you, and women want you. You > Tom Brady WELL SAID.

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:09 AM) Who gives a flying fuck where you went to college. Stop with the overreacting and turn off the capslock and everything bad will go away. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE CAPS LOCK? IT'S MY STYLE.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) Well, you're certainly not acting like one. Just because you go to school in NJ, I wonder if some of the garbage and stench is wafting downstate and affecting your precious brain cells. I certainly wouldn't ask Brooke Shields for advice on trades, so I'll prefer to discuss basketball with Pete Carrill, Bill Carmody or John Thompson before talking any more nonsensical, inane trades with u. I thought they taught Princeton Tigers how to use a computer keyboard, by the way. Or is it Princeton, Illinois? PRINCETON UNIVERSITY GRAD

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:27 AM) KONERKO TO RED SOX FOR JON LESTER THOME TO TWINS FOR MATT GARZA CREDE TO ANGELS FOR ERVIN SANTANA OR JOE SAUNDERS DYE TO METS FOR LASTINGS MILLEDGE BUEHRLE (IF HE PUTS TOGETHER A DECENT YEAR SAY 4.50 ERA) FOR A 2ND OR 3RD TIER PROSPECT GARLAND TO YANKEES FOR PHILLIP HUGHES We can get more for Konerko, Lester hasn't even proven he's 100% healthy yet. The Twins would never give up Garza for Thome, they already have Morneau from the left side. While they could definitely USE Thome, they're not going to trade their top pitching prospect for him, and they're also not going to pay $9-10 million for a DH, even if the White Sox sent all their Phillies money along with him. Crede for Santana wouldn't be horrible. We can get more than Milledge at this point for Dye. Milledge is parked on then bench with no place to play....while he's still a brighter prospect than Anderson, he's not viewed quite in the same light as Chris Young or Alex Gordon either. Buehrle will get you something VERY nice in return. With Zambrano probably out of the FA race, Jason Jennings and Buehrle are the two best properties available this offseason. Under 4 ERA, he gets you a similar return to what the M's got back for Garcia from the Sox. Garland for Hughes (or Homer Bailey)? What have you been smoking, and can I have some please? I NEVER SAID GARLAND FOR BAILEY. I SAID PHILLIP HUGH. YANKEES FOR PROBABLY DEAL HIM TO US FOR GARLAND BECAUSE GARLAND AVERAGES 18 WINS A GAME AND IS A GREAT POSTEASON PITCHERS 2-0, 2.25 ERA IN 2 STARS. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) Please stop baiting him...he can't be older than 14-15. Although Garland is "league average" in K's, WHIP and ERA (probably a notch or two above), he's far from league average in wins. I would be happy with the injured pitching prospect they got from the Tigers, Sanchez (I think). Contreras actually destroyed the Reds with strikeouts last year, and he would be one of the best NL pitchers...they wouldn't give up Bailey for him, but they might if we included another player...enough to put them over the top and definite playoff contention for this year. Crede for someone on the Angels has always been a possibility....Santana, Shields, Saunders, Figgins, Willits, Wood, Aybar, etc. PRINCETON EDUCATION. YOU THINK YOU CAN TOP THAT? I DON' THINK SO.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:59 PM) lol, it would be like saying this in Spring Training I mean, what the f***, seriously, even if you just want to mess around on a message board, you can find a funnier way to do it then this. This is just a ridiculous thread in all aspects because of the creator. NOT BECAUSE OF THE CREATOR. IT'S BECAUSE OF THE CAPS LOCK. ARE YOU TOO STUPID TO LET CAPS LOCK GET IN YOUR WAY OF A GREAT POST? FACE IT, OUR STARTING PITCHERS ARE NOT ALL OF THE SUDDEN GOING TO TURN IN TO 2005 PITCHERS. THAT SEASON WAS ABSOLUTE MIRACLE THAT HAPPENS ONCE IN A LIFETIME AND SOMETIMES NEVER. THE SOX' BEST INTERESTS SHOULD BE TO MOVE ALL OF THE AGING PLAYERS AND GET SOME TALENT BACK. HERE ARE SOME OF MY PROPOSALS: KONERKO TO RED SOX FOR JON LESTER THOME TO TWINS FOR MATT GARZA CREDE TO ANGELS FOR ERVIN SANTANA OR JOE SAUNDERS DYE TO METS FOR LASTINGS MILLEDGE BUEHRLE (IF HE PUTS TOGETHER A DECENT YEAR SAY 4.50 ERA) FOR A 2ND OR 3RD TIER PROSPECT GARLAND TO YANKEES FOR PHILLIP HUGH

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) I think what Balta is asking, is at some point in the season did a West or East coast team have a better record. We know they won the division wire to wire, but did they always have the highest win percentage in the AL every day of the season? To answer your question. Yes. The Sox went wire-2-wire not only in the central but the entire AL.

The closest any team was when the Orioles were tied with the Sox at 4-2.

10. 1976 Cincinnati Reds Okay yes I'm a bit biased but how would you like to have been an oposing pitcher and faced this lineup. Rose, Morgan, Griffey Sr. Foster, Conception. And they won the World Seiries in Decisive Fashion. 9. The 1969 New York Mets This is not so much for the team but how they did it. When you look at the lineup or pitching roster no one really jumps out at you (except for Nolan Ryan) but we all remeber that just 7 years only the mets lost 120 games. Aamazing turn around (yes pun intended). 8. The 1998 New York Yankees Jeter, Williams, Rvera, and clemens. With all of those great players its no wonder the yanks won 114 reagular season games 7. The 1917 Chicago White (black) Sox Of course this team will always be remebered for throwing the World Series but many people forget why they where heavy favorites in the firstplace. With two 30 games winner and Shoeless Joe Jackson If they weplaying at the full power I honestly believe they would've won. 6.The 1960 New York Yankees The last year of Casey Stengal manegerial stint with the yankees was perhaps his best. The only reason they aren't higher is they didnt win the Series, but with Mantle, Maris , Berra, and Ford. This was an amazing team. 5. The 1966 Los Angeles Dodgers They didn't have a lot of power but when you've got Koufax, and Drysdale on the hil you don't need power. Two of the best pitchers of their era, and perhaps of all time. 4. The 1908 Chicago Cubs Another one of those not for the team but the circumstances around it. 98 yearsl ater the cubs are still praying for another one. 3. The 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Now this was not the best brooklyn team of the era but from 1947-54 de bums had been getting the hearts broken by the Yankees, so when they finally won it in 55' the whole city rioted. 2. The 1927 New York Yankees With ruth and gherig in their prime the yankees were a force to be reckoned with in the season and the series. The defining momentwould have to be when ruth hit 3 homers in game 4. 1. The 2005 Chicago White Sox Who else? The 05 White Sox were so dominat that they defined the standards for postseason play. They outscored their opponets by a total of 33 runs. Never before have we witnessed such lopsided margin of victory in postseaon play.

I say we ship McCarthy to TB for Carl Crawford who is only 25 years old. Then we bench Uribe and start Cintron at SS. Our lineup would be: Crawford Cintron Dye Thome Konerko Pierzinski Crede Iguchi Anderson/Sweeney Or we can trade McCarthy and get some bullpen help. Perhaps trade him to the Dodgers for Broxton and trade Josh Fields to Padres for Scott Linebrink. Our Pen would look like: Jenks Thornton MacDougal Broxton Linebrink Thats A one sick Bullpen! Thoughts?

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) we've been the DEFENDING world champions since april i hate how everyone still says we are at the beginning of the season everyone goes back to zero we're the defending champs until after the series We're not defending it any longer.
