Terrell Owens Attempts Suicide
cuddlyboy26 replied to Steve9347's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
It would be great if the Bears were able to get TO. He and Moose would be a great 1-2 WR punch. With him being a nut still and throwing dissary into the Dallas dressing room maybe they might think of trading him? -
His defence is better then his offense. I dont like the idea of people wanting to trade away guys like Anderson and Crede, they should be the teams future, sign them to long term deals and keep them.

The U.S was getting their rear ends handed to them by Europe when on paper the U.S had the much better team. This was the first year in awhile Europea arguably had the better team, so the result was inevitable to an extent. On the other hand the U.S seemed to have gotten "it", the concept of team events last year at the Presidents Cup. There seemed to be much better enjoyment level, focus, team spirit, team unity. I was hoping that would carry over for the U.S to the event itself but it did not. I am Canadian and used to cheer for Europe since I like cheering for the underdogs, but now I cheer for the U.S since I am tired of seeing them mope around and underperform so much in this particular event. Tiger Woods whether he is playing well or not seems to walk around with this glazed look in Ryder Cup action, so uncomfortable for some reason, dont understand it.

I know this is off topic somewhat but why on earth was Joe Crede not picked for the all star game this year?
-
Well it sounds like Crede is certain to remain a White Sox until the end of 2008. That is good but it also means Fields will have to wait until he is 26 years old to be come the full time 3rd baseman for the White Sox in 2009.
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) He is under White Sox control until 2008. After the 2008 season, he can become a free agent. If the White Sox refuse an arbitration price either this year, or next year though wouldnt he be a free agent? Also if he was traded to a new team this year, signed a 1-year deal only, and chose not to resign after 2007 wouldnt he also be a free agent before the end of 2008 then?
-
Sorry I was doing alot at once and it was a bad typo. When I said referring to White Sox losing possesion of Crede before 2008 ends though I meant is they might not re-sign him after his 1-year contract for 2007, and trade him to another team after 2007 making him their property for a year, but a free agent after 2008 likely.
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Crede has no choice. He's Sox property for two more years. There's no "If he signs." I know that but the White Sox can just not sign him and let him become a free agent before then. Given that they will probably want Josh Fields as their starting 3rd baseman no later then next year that should happen before the end of the next 2 years anyway.
-
Exactly I say "probably" since it is my opinion the White Sox are anxious to get rid of Crede as soon as possable. The reason for that is Josh Fields. That may not be next year mind you, it may be after next year. That is why he will only sign a 1-year deal if he signs.
-
That was probably before Crede saw the White Sox only wanted to sign him to another 1-year deal as they were anxious for Fields to take over however. That changes your perspective on things.
-
The White Sox seem anxious to get Fields up to replace Crede however considering Fields is not in Crede's class.
-
Well maybe $35 million over 5 years, with incentives? It is a moot point anyway though since the White Sox dont want to sign Crede long term, they probably want him for 1 more year, then trade him to clear the way for Fields.
-
Boras does not want him to have the surgery as it would lower his value to other teams probably. Being that the White Sox wont sign him to a long term deal I understand Boras wanting to keep his value high to other teams. At the longest he will probably only be in Chicago 1 more year now, so Boras would want him to wait until atleast next off season when he is traded, and then signs a new contract to have the surgery.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) Juan Uribe is already signed. He is under contract for $4.5 million in 2007, and the team holds an option for $5.5 million or so in 2008. Oh I read on a site somewhere he was a FA. Well I doubt they pick up his 2008 option, although it depends on next year, I still doubt it happening.
-
Will Uribe be back? How much will he sign for and how long if he does return?
-
They dont want to sign him long term. All the articles I am reading recently are they are anxious to get rid of him to make way for Fields. I now dont blame Crede and Boras at all for making negotiations hell for the White Sox. After a career year like Crede had, and building to that for awhile I would expect the organization to see me as their future and with them still preferring some unproven kid in that case I would also be making negotations a living hell for my team, and not be very open to advice on something like having surgery because they want me to.
-
I dont understand why the White Sox are so anxious to get rid of Crede to make way for Fields. If Fields does turn out to be great you will have to pay him huge money to keep him as well eventualy. Even after a career year the team is looking to ditch him for an unproven talent.

QUOTE(shipps @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 04:25 AM) I have always been a huge Vick fan, even so much to where i cheer for the Falcons. But recently i realized that Vick is really bad.He is not a quarterback. He cannot throw the ball where he wants it to go,period. He may be a RB or a WR,but not a person who throws a football. I agree but do you really think there is any way the fans who vote on the Pro Bowl will think that way if the Falcons are leading their division?
-
I would rather Crede then the package though. I hope he signs a long term deal this off season.
-
Just curious those of you who say it will be Grossman, McNabb, or Manning what makes you think they would ever leave Michael Vick out? First of the Falcons will probably be leading the division at the time of selections. If so he automaticaly gets voted in since he is so overrated doesnt he? Especialy if he even has 10 TD passes or more. Or did his selection last time create such a big stink that he will actually have to put up real number, even passing numbers to get in this time?

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) I believe the Sox should be keeping someone like Joe Crede. He has gotten better every year and the last two has been a clutch performer both in the field and at bat I agree, he brings so much to the team and is really coming into his own. I doubt Josh Fields will ever be as good as him even when he reaches his prime, especialy defensively.
