I was watching the First 48 the other day.For those that havent seen this show it is a reality show that follows homicide detectives the first 48 hours of a murder from initial crime scene to the next 48 hours of investigation(the first 48 being the most important hours of the investigation). There was a case where a 15 year old African American boy was being charged with the murder of a 40 something white male.It was involving $15 that the white males drug addict girlfriend had owed to the young boy. When the boy comes up to the house to confront the woman about the money the boyfriend starts using racial slurs towards the kid saying you n****** arent getting anything. The young boy claims the man kept on with these slurs it set him into a rage and he beat him with his bare hands which he would later die from his injuries. The show seemed to have compassion for this kid and so did the courts. The boy recieved 10 years in jail for this murder and he was tried as an adult. I dont feel like name calling should even be factored in a case of murder.I dont care if you call someone the worst possible racial slur or anything else you should not get any lighter sentence to such a horrible crime.I dont know how the law looks at such a matter but the kid shouldnt have been given any different treatment IMHO.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 08:51 AM) I have been told that HD through Directv is not as good as comcast because of the satellite feed vs the cable feed. Is there any truth to that? I would say yes.I have comcast and my grandfather has Directv and IMO my HD is alot better. My grandfather also agrees with this statement. It could be that I have better HDMI cords but I highly doubt that, they are all the same except for the price if you ask me.

The tendency for those of us who have harsh winters and gloomy fall seasons are to just try to endure the weather with lack of motivation during the colder months.I dont want to speak for everyone else but I know this is the case for myself.I have noticed I just try to make it to spring to really get out there and do activities. Now that the summer is over I want to get my guitar fixed and continue on with trying to learn how to play the guitar. It is something that I was self teaching about 5 years ago but gave up when I winded up breaking my guitar while I was tuning it.This fall I want to get a REAL teacher and take it more seriously so I can have somewhat productive half year until the next spring comes. What are you going to do with yourself to be productive these nasty seasons and not just be a lazy ass waiting for the leaves to turn green again? BTW if anyone from here/Chicago area is a good guitar teacher and is offering some lessons or if you know someone let me know.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) One other thing. Looking at Northwestern's record and their schedule....they are setup to have a FANTASTIC season. Like as in making an elite Big 10 bowl played in the month of January. This is probably the point of the season when I make the switch to really pulling for Northwestern instead of living and dieing by the Illini. The Illini defense is the worst in the Big Ten. -
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 01:42 AM) I dont know if thats a true story, but if it is, go to a f***ing exorcist or something. Every bit of it is true,if thats one consistent thing you can get from shipps it is honesty. Everyone that I have told this to seem like they think Iam saying I was the one who thought deadly thoughts on this guy therefore it came upon him.I just think maybe I have become kinda senstive to picking up on dieing people (being in a hospital all the time) or most likely it was just a coincidence.

I meant to post this the other day but I totally forgot.I was at the gym doing my workout on the orbital machine and like all my workouts I think random thoughts to get my focus off the pain of the workout. In the middle of my workout I look behind me towards the raquetball courts and I look at this guy who is in his 50's and think to myself that he is in great shape probably has alot of money and he thinks life is peachy and he is guaranteed tomorrow. But working where I have worked for the past few years I know I guy like him can just as well drop dead cause no one is sure to see tomorrow. It wasnt ten minutes later this f***ing guy drops dead right there. They did CPR for the next 20 minutes while everyone watched him die. It creeped me the f*** out.Why did I pick this guy out of a crowded gym and think that thought right then?

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) I'm guessing you're using AT&T. If you're willing to leave, I would wait it out for the Blackberry Storm which is going to be coming out really soon. Touchscreen like the IPhone, professional like a Blackberry. It looks very sharp, but I think it's only for Verizon, but I'm not 100% sure. I want this phone but i have US Cellular,I hope I can get it with them.

I love Comcast, its great for HD and it gives you tons of options On Demand. The signal went out maybe one time in the past year for a brief period and that it something that is almost impossible with any dish services. The only thing I think Comcast can improve on is its DVR space that it gives you.Any HD recordings take up a ton of your available space.

The fact that DJ was a 27th RD pick back in 1997 is irrelevant.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) They said they wanted to be the "American Coldplay". So there's you problem. I took think there's not enough Rock'N'Roll on there, and that's when the band is at its best. And thats what his voice is made for,he doesnt have a soft rock voice. When they rock out they get me pumped, great workout or fast driving music.

QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 07:34 AM) I'm hoping they have a few of the 10 DVD sets of Nick Swisher's batting tips left No those are sold out already but there are a variety of Swisher posters featuring his different facial expressions after striking out. -

You know I have never seen Animal House.Thats what that is from right? -
Alot of what he said is aimed towards Swisher which I have no problem with. Cowley said on the radio this morning that he feels like Swisher wants out of town and will asked to be traded this off season. One can only hope.
