QUOTE(iamshack @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) If you believe that, than what is the future for Richar? Another team? Utility man? Car salesman? If Richar can step it up he will get that future 2b spot and Ramirez can go back to his natural position SS and you wont need to resign OCab and give him big money.

QUOTE(iamshack @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) I think you've got to start Uribe. My issue with Ramirez is that he's not ready to play second base on the mlb level yet. We've heard from Ozzie that he probably isn't ready yet, and I've also heard from a good source who saw him in camp that Ramirez looks really raw defensively at both 2b and CF. So I've got to believe he probably needs more time at 2b in Charlotte. The other issue is this: Do we want to spend valuable time with Alexei learning 2b when he might not even have a future at that position? I'd really like him to shore up his skills at ss, but then again, we're not sure if OCab is going to be brought back long-term or not. If the organization forsees OCab as our long-term ss, than Ramirez needs to be spending all of his time developing at a position he will actually be playing. But if that is 2b and not ss, than the question is what is Richar's future? This is a pretty tough call considering we have some options that need to be played out and worked out at all 3 of Ramirez's potential positions, and yet, he really needs to develop at one of them to be the best player he can be for us. Yes, I know that the MI positions are such that he could develop the necessary skills for both of them, but I'd rather he work on one and really get strong there since he is supposedly fairly raw at all three as of right now. Secondbase will be the future position for Ramirez, not CF.For the most part he has already shored up his skills at SS.He isnt young he has played alot of baseball already, this isnt some long term project kind of player.

Give me Ramirez,he will give you more bang for your buck.He is a Cuban he knows how to play baseball,he will learn the position quickly.

I just joined a gym in the south loop and Iam very pleased with it.There is free parking(downtown its great to have),there is more than enough equipment for everyone but not so much you get lost in a sea of it,and the locker room is prestine. This gym also has services like racketball, towel service, basketball court, swimming pool, yoga sessions, and a big seperate area for your kids.Although I may never use any of these other things it sold me on joining just to know I have those kind of options.

More Speculation About the Starting CF Job
shipps replied to JohnCangelosi's topic in Pale Hose Talk
IMO Whitesox.com is not "straight from the horses mouth" like its reputation of being. -
The hospital that I work at takes care of the athletes of the Bulls and the Whitesox. From time to time these athletes come in with a medical problem that is not reported anywhere or it is an erroneous report to cover for whatever reason. All I can say it is difficult to not post on this info. There is no way around Hippa laws.

QUOTE(Cali @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) Saw Angels & Airwaves last night. Pretty awesome, they played for 2 hours... Anytime I have seen A&A live on TV they were so bad I was embarrassed for them, so I have never tried to see them.

I have to go with Boone. He seems like he is really starting to come into his own and they are going to use him mostly at times when he has the lefty on lefty advantage. He is the safe bet to me.

What sports forum makes you a smarter sports fan?
shipps replied to shipps's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I find it somewhat surprising that no one feels that they are a smarter fan because of talking sports with their dad or grandfather.I know its just a sign of the times but it would be a breath of fresh air to know that good sports talk still goes on amongst families. -
On Mike and Mike this morning they were talking about Ozzie saying if he is not getting the job done they should just fire him and not pay him.I know he has said this in the past but they were talking about it as if he had made new comments. Is there anything new that I missed?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) Really? How would one even repair broken veneers, considering they're cemeted onto the tooth? Most likely they would have to make a brand new tooth. The problem is you can be chewing regularly and your jaws are just to strong for that porcelian. My aunt had to get it done three times over on one tooth. Finally they got it right but it was costly.
-
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) What you'd want to consider, if braces aren't appealing to you, is porcelain veneers. They're stain resistant, extremely durable, and can be specifically colored to match your surrounding teeth so it doesn't look fake. From what I know of the process, a mold is made of your teeth which is sent into a lab. They use mathematical formulas to calculate the right shape/size of the veneers in relation to your bite and surrounding teeth. Atleast that's whats done from dentist giving their patients a natural look. My aunt had it done and if I didn't know personally she had the procedure I never would have guessed. They look perfect. Problem is the price. If I recall what she said to my mom last year, it was maybe $800 a tooth. Veeners break way too often, they are far less strong than real teeth.Pretty expensive to start so they are expensive to replace.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 08:31 AM) Carlos Zambrano in the Suntimes: ''I told my family and my friends that before my career ends, I want to play for the White Sox. Right now, my priority is helping this club. That's what I am trying to do. But I used to be, when I was growing up, I was a White Sox fan. But every time I say that, the Chicago Cubs fans get jealous and pissed off.'' That is suprising to hear from him,I hope he never gets his wish.Unless he matures in the next couple of years in a big way.If not ,no way.

The Official 2007-08 NFL Draft Thread
shipps replied to witesoxfan's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Now that Stewart is going to have surgery and be out a few months I assume that will give the Bears no chance at having Mendenhall fall to them at 14. -
I just seen a girl that I knew in grade school a couple days ago and was completely shocked in how she turned out.She used to be such an attractive young lady, she developed earlier than the other girls so she got all the attention from us guys and she new it.But now she weighs about 300 pounds (not an overestimate)and it was so surreal looking at her.I wanted to poke at her body just to make sure it was real fat. This was the first time I have had such an experience being 26.
-
All I can say is,I met a girl at the gym yesterday and she had braces. She is in her early 20's and she is really hot .She was smiling her biggest smile and not holding back at all. When you let the braces effect your confidence and personality is when braces look bad on someone, otherwise it doesnt make a diffrence.

It looks like doing a poll on this topic is going to be a bit skewed here. -
Man that sucks.I hope it wasnt a Pablo Martin type of injury.

I have to say sports radio keeps me a smarter sports fan. There are some smart people on the radio such as Boers and Bernsy,Laurence Holmes,Dan Patrick(good interviews), and Mully & Hanley.I appreciate sports talk with less biased opinions, and not that its not on radio but it is less profound than on the other forums IMO.

My 10th is in two years now that I think of it and that scares me.Where did that time go?
-
I know his defense isnt there yet but will it cost us as many runs as we will gain with him in the lineup? As a fan I find it hard to ignore his offensive capability, but if I was a manager he would be sent down for a month or 2 .There will be someone on our 25 man roster that has proven themselves worthy of AAA baseball by then.

I really wanted to get into this show because alot my friends love it.I watched a couple episodes and it never got me,I could go without watching a day in the life of Baltimore drug dealers.
