This is going to be very meatballish but I personally need to see that the FO and ownership of my favorite team is willing to 350 to a DH if they thinks that gets them closer to a WS.

To be fair, the Sox can't win with the fan base on ANY signing that they do this off season other than Harper. They failed at the one and only addition that meant anything so all of the moves like this will just look pathetic.

That would be about as low as they could go. Like, if that came out as true I would without a doubt not be a Sox fan anymore. At least not until the team was sold and FO changed.

Remember when Hahn said at soxfest he was working on a few acquisitions? Confident, sorta like he was dying to tell us all the great news. Good god man! Why did you build up your base when you were in the position that you were in?! This whole damn thing is just outrageous. The entire winter of nonsense could have been handled so much better even if you didn’t sign either guy.

Lillian, i hate to say it but by their actions with Machado and Harper made it clear their number one priority is definitely not to win a championship with a stadium filled with loyal fans.

They know we’re pissed off. But it doesn’t move them. We are just the weird overwhelming fanatics and that’s just how we act when we don’t get our way. We will get over it. That’s how I see their perception of us.

Does the front office and ownership even feel the outrage of the fan base? I am not so sure. Maybe in time as they make a little less money due to this failure but I think as they go about their day, today is just Thursday for them. They don’t feel the angst and pressure from what’s happened. They are not uncomfortable.

Also, there were soooooo many random tweets of "insider" information I think the insider narrative became extremely convoluted. People were attributing some things that were tweeted with others that weren't even correct.

To each is own but the insider stuff just doesn’t bother me. I’m angry with the Sox not the guys who were getting info from the Sox. Some weren’t accurate but others were in terms of how the dumbass FO was telling it at the time. The Sox had an arrogant and confident perception of where there were at with Manny and that showed through some of the insiders view of this whole thing. All this anger toward the messenger is misplaced in my opinion. In the end all that was said from the insiders could have been easily ignored. They may have given some a hard time for all the panic but I think in a lot of cases they just wanted everyone to not worry so damn much. It wasn’t a matter of your dumb if you think I am wrong. If that’s how some perceived it, so be it, that’s how you feel. Ultimately the insiders are the ones that look the most silly for believing their sources were as good as gold, not the average Joe which is the majority around here so why the rage?

I personally cant give the Sox FO the benefit of the doubt that they will do something that makes sense in FA other than what they usually do. I refuse to fall for the reading between the lines and trying to read the mind of this front office and how they are approaching a meaningful signing. I won't do it ever again with this current FO and owner.

I am seriously considering not following them myself. I would bet there are a lot of others considering the same. I don’t owe it to anyone to prove my fandom. There is more to life then sports and entertainment and when the entertainment sucks why waste my time, money, and energy on it? I can definitely fill that void with something else that is meaningful and fun.

We should have a walk out petition here and send it over to Brooks. Vowing to not financially support this team next year. We are the die hards that have supported them when no casual fans would and we just arent going to do it anymore.

There just wasn't going to be any other outcome with Harper. They didn't have more than 250 for Manny. Why would they then go to Harper who will absolutely get more than Manny did? The Sox are not in the same league as the truly competitive teams.

So Hahn thought there was less than a 50/50 chance? Wonderful. LOL as the layers of this get peeled back one after another more and more is revealed about their ineptitude full circle.
