  1. Yep....Josh is smelling bad tonight. But none of the big hitters are doing crap either. Id have rather faced Bob Gibson than this no-name fluffer. Typical White Sox...making moderate no-name prospects look like Sandy Koufax.
  2. Mark had a bad game, lets move on from it...Wasserman was outstanding in getting out of that inning without Cleveland taking a 10-3 lead on us. 7-3 game. Keep it right there and lets get to grinding.
  3. I knew it. I knew it. Lets get out of this one and try to come back.
  4. Wonder just how awesome we'll make Laffey look tonight?
  5. twins can't get out their own way, Kazmir bottles up Detroit...we have our ace tonight against some rook with 3 games v. Seattle and we get to miss Felix. The Seattle series worries me, because we have both Floyd and Contreras going back to back...shesh...we win those two then we may freaking run the table (I say that knowing Gavin was great last start and Jose actually showed some velocity last night). lets get this one first oh yea, i just traded for Mark Buehrle in my fantasy league.
  6. Erstad has now stranded 7 runners in his 0-5 night. Great guy to have hitting in the 5 hole.
  7. Agree...Ehren isn't the next Dennis Eckersley, but I think there is a spot for him...and I think he's a little better than we think. He looks to be a real candidate to pitch from the start out the pen next year. Wasserman has been in 10 games, giving up runs in only 2 of them. Over his last 7 innings (8 games) his WHIP is about 0.50 or so. And in his last 5 innings he has given up only 1 hit with no walks. He seems to be getting comfortable and confident. I like this kid.
  8. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) Mind boggling, absolutely mind boggling. I know it. At first I thought it was just a joke. Then I went over to GameDay and I honestly busted out laughing. I love the sox and I hope they win tonight, but this lineup is really incredible. Against CC Sabathia...powerful lefty throwing high 90s 1-Owens-punch and judy lefty...CC probably can tell Owens where the fastball will be and he wont hit it 2-Josh-Love this kid...he's going to be special, but Josh has swung through 88mph pitches on the heart before...add 10mph to it 3-PK-We got a chance with him 4-Dye-Another chance 5-Erstad-Are you kidding me? In the 5 hole? Grinderstad should never play against lefties, let alone that can throw this kinda stuff at you 6-A.Gonzalez-My lord...this is like breaking a chickens leg before you put him into a pen with a wolf 7-Pods-LMMFAO...Game plan here...Pods should just hold the bat out over the plate and maybe CC will accidentally hit it 8-Uribe-Dude is hitting .214...if he had to face pitchers like Sabathia every game he'd be hitting .14 9-Hall-Logical choice here. AJP needed a day off. I am OK with this decision If CC doesn't go at least 7 inninigs with double digit strikeouts then he needs to submit a urine sample.
  9. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 06:57 PM) Tonight's lineup: Owens CF Fields 3B Konerko DH Dye RF Erstad 1B Gonzalez 2B Podsednik LF Uribe SS Hall C My God. I thought this was a joke. GameDay seems to agree with this. The only plausible explanation is Ozzie set this lineup so that when CC Sabathia saw it he'd start laughing without any control until he injured himself. Sabathia could very well no-hit this lineup with 20+ strikeouts if he treads gently with PK and Dye. What an utterly hilarious lineup.
  10. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 06:57 PM) Tonight's lineup: Owens CF Fields 3B Konerko DH Dye RF Erstad 1B Gonzalez 2B Podsednik LF Uribe SS Hall C ...someone being funny.
  11. I want Uribe gone. Typically, players peform best when facing a contract. This dude has hacked his way to a .214 batting average this year. He doesn't steal bases, can't bunt, can't make consistent contact. He'll hit you a few homers here and there and play better than average defense (range isn't that great, but he has the arm), but there are numerous players I'd rather have over him...including yes...Jack Wilson. Just as I have favorite players...Mark Buehrle, Paul Konerko, and Aaron Rowand .. so too do I have those players I do not like, like Uribe. Let's make a deal to bring in a player that is ready to assume the SS role in Chicago.
  12. QUOTE(PorkChopExpress @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) Couple of similarities. Like already mentioned, Sheffield = Thome Dye's MVP 2006 Season = Maggs MVP 2007 Season Pitching underperforming following post-season run And hopefully, Twins 10.5 out of first on August 7, 2006 win the division on the last day of the regular season = Sox 10.5 out of first on August 7, 2007 win the division. Well great...optimism.
  13. I don't get it, but Sisco seems to be maybe getting it. He now has 5 straight starts where he has pitched 26 innings, 16 hits, 12 walks (whip would be slightly over 1.00), and 26 strikeouts. No doubt the guy throws hard, but maybe he's learning HOW to pitch instead of just raring back and slinging it. Whatever the case, the last month with him has been very encouraging.
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 05:05 PM) For pitchers, the White Sox don't generally view AAA as a necessary stepping stone. There have been several instances where our pitching prospects are promoted immidiately to AA, most notably Jenks and Day. With the season winding down, priority number one should be keeping him healthy -- he's on pace for right around the same IP as last season. Since he'd only get (at most) four starts in Charlotte, I'd just keep him in AA for the rest of the year and perhaps bring him up as a September call-up in a relief role. Ahh, and some dude named Buehrle right? That being said, Gio does need to be up simply because he deserves the call and Charlotte has a couple starters that have no upside.
  15. We are still in play if we win this series. NO, I don't think it can happen, but when Gavin Floyd and John Danks pitch back-to-back gems you gotta think something is turning for us.
  16. I have no problem bunting Owens over...you give Thome, Paulie, and AJ a chance to win it. I'd rather have Konerko hitting 3rd and Thome 4th and AJP somewhere else, but that's just my op.
  17. Pitiful...oh well, not like we expected this anyway. Kudos to John Danks, he was the only one who did s*** tonight.
  18. Who on our team is a better bunter than Josh Fields? I've been very impressed with that part of his game.
  19. We give our two boppers a chance to tie or win it...i like the move.
  20. I think Im ready to try Borowksi now...Westbrook has owned us tonight. A 2-hitter. Get Borowski in this game and we may have a shot.
  21. Cy Westbrook has our number tonight. The slumbering offense picked a bad time to return.
  22. Double to Hafner and then Danks eats ALIVE Garko and Peralta...this has been a NASTY performance by the kid. Now lets get his ass some friggin runs.
  23. Danks just carved up Garko...brilliantly worked him hard inside and then he aced him on the edge...gosh I like the way this kid pitches.
