We catch the Twinkies and MISS Santana (when has THAT ever happened) and it looks like Mauer may go on the DL. Javy v. Boof Tuesday. For some weird reason I have faith in Javy right about now.

Damn. Got out of there with a win. Considering just how atrocious we are hitting right now, .500 and 4 games off the pace isn't that bad. Indeed, there will be tougher games ahead, but you HAVE TO THINK we'll start hitting better. Kudos to Ryan Sweeney with the big double of K-ROD. K-Rod is a nasty pitcher, so it was good to see Ryan handle him.

Not good.

Wow. Just wow. This offense is not good.

Play opposing GM, which Sox players would you want?

If I was a GM, I'd be all over our pitching. Any of our starters would be a great addition to any staff. Personally, I think Jenks is over-rated so I wouldn't really want him unless my bullpen was just horrendous. Matt Thornton is very attractive because I may could get him for cheap. I would have absolutely no interest in Uribe, Iguchi, Pods, Erstad or any of the bench guys. Dye, AJ, Konerko, and Crede would all be interesting if I needed to fill the slot. I'd go for Thome, but wouldn't give up a ton of prospects for an aging, injured player who can't play the field. Mark Buehrle would be the pitcher I'd want the most...proven, young, lefty, heady, winner, tough as nails, and a proven champion. If I could pry Mark and sign him, I'd give up at least two top prospects and another good prospect. He, in my view, is the most valuable player on this team. That being said, I DONT WANT HIM DEALT. -
What worries me is Mark Buehrle will be the first one traded because his value is sky high again. I think that would be a mistake...Mark is the one dude who has sacked up this year and is playing ball. I hope Im wrong, but with Mark's contract situation, if the Sox fall out of contention I fear he'll be the one dealt.

Despite Blalocks shot there, Mark looks very solid tonight. Now let's go get him that run. -
Every player who got into the game tonight, except one (THome) is hitting .220 or below, with 8 of those players hitting .200 or below. That's really not so good.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) My point still stands. Nobody cares about everyone's fantasy team. One of the reasons I don't play is because I don't want guys playing against the Sox on my team. That's why you should have White Sox players. No, wait.

Wow.

Well Crede may be struggling, but Fields at AAA is just as bad (.219, .316, .344, 1HR, 2 BI--although he is errorless through the early going). I don't even know who plays 3rd for Birmingham. It's Crede or bust.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) ....and people want to kick his ass to the curb and send him to AAA. I have seen both of Danks's games this year and I would be shocked if he ever pitches AAA ball again. He really looks like he belongs.
-
Danks has earned his money that's for sure. Two solid games to begin his career. Let's hope Nick can hold em down so that we can only lose 2-0.
-
Ryan Garko may very well be a better hitter than Ted Williams was.
-
That was a pretty bad offensive series. Rex Grossman sucks.
-
Love the way Danks handles himself on the mound. Very impressive performance today against a great ballclub. Lets help the kid out.
-
Byrd on pace for 10+ strikeouts in this game. That's pitiful.
-
Jenks isn't that good. I watched Papelbon work out of a 2 on 1 out jam the other night and save a game. Jenks has clean sacks and can't keep a very average team from teeing off on him. This was a bad loss...Jenks should have blown it down. Garland and Mac went 8 damn innings and gave up 3 hits, sad-sack Jenks gave up 3 hits in less than an inning. Bla Bla Bla...blame it on Pods, but he was in left-field while Garland and Mac were easily rolling over a very average offensive team. This loss is on Jenks and I want Mac in the closers role. Jenks is over-rated.
-
Jenks spent most of last year with an ERA around 4.00, the writing was on the wall...I have little faith in him. You beat up on Pods, Ill beat up on the guy who actually can't close games. I'm so ready for Mac to take over this role.
-
Good god...to blame Pods for this is lame. The culprit is our over-rated closer.
-
End this Bobby..Im on the East Coast, I need sleep
-
Our batting average is horrible, but you see what happens when you get great pitching.
-
Well that wasn't ...just get 6 more outs and lets get out of here.
-
so far, so good tonight.
