  1. Understand. Depends on where the Sox are, where he is. If the Sox are competing for a playoff spot in 2 years it will likely be in part because of him. Do people suspect the Sox will move Rodon because he is risky and a Boras client? The guy has electric stuff. Not sure why I'd want to move that.
  2. Rey just needs to settle down, he'll be fine. I think his stuff looks fine tonight. Although it looks like Detroit knows what is coming....its almost like batting practice for them.
  3. there isn't a spot in Chicago? On their pitching staff? Buwahahaha. Kopech isn't in the bigs because he doesn't belong there. Dude can't throw strikes. He needs to develop against lesser competition and hone in his command. No need for him to be in the bigs with a 2+ WHIP gettin shellacked every night. big league hitters are not scared of 100 mile per hour heat, they are scared of it when you can place it. Kopech needs to stay in the minors and figure out if he's a future top of the rotation starter or is destined for the bullpen. No need to rush him right now.
  4. LOL....A came before B, so A must have caused B....it's Fulmer, you're probably right on.
  5. I never thought the strand rate was a true indicator of Gio. I think he will always trend high there. I am going by the eye test. Last year in games I saw he looked in control, confident, competent. Now he looks completely clueless and lost.
  6. Right now that's what it should be. Kopech has not earned the right to be called up to Chicago. His stuff is obviously electric, but there is only so much upside in a guy with such questionable command. He HAS to get that under control, which CAN happen. Blake Snell in tampa bay has become one of the games brightest young pitchers and you can point directly to the 2nd half of last year where he seemed to just start hitting the strike zone. That simple...Snell went from talented, enigma with electric stuff who struggled with control to a player who now commands his arsenal and can be damn near unhittable. Kopech may end up similar, at least I hope.
  7. That's kinda my point. I get the numbers, but the dude has fallen off the proverbial cliff. And has shown almost no signs of getting it back.
  8. Trade Rodon? HELL NO. Not unless someone vastly overpays for him. Right now he is the most talented all around pitcher ANYWHERE in our organization. He has better stuff than everyone in this organization and unlike other phenoms like Kopech, Rodon can actually hit the catchers mitt. Did anyone see him in his first game back pumping the 1 at 96 and 97 mixed in with a filthy change up? Let us not forget his OUT pitch (that slider) he really didn't have in that game. Rodon should be considered the current and future #1 for this staff, period....
  9. Gio has been dreadful beyond belief this year, but the Sox need to let him work it out. Maybe he just needs to be skipped in the rotation. Let him clear his head and bring him back. For the life of me I can't understand why he is so much different than the guy who was pitching here last year. Mind boggling.
  10. Walking well over 5 per 9 with an ERA pushing 5.00. If he's close I would hate to see someone far. Kopech is on fast track to the bullpen with that command. The Sale trade NEEDS to happen for us and so far early returns cast doubt on how much the Sox will get out of this. NO DOUBT Moncada and Kopech have supreme talent, but also have some serious flaws in their games.
  11. LOL @ Twins. This game is has been fun for about 3 innings now.
  12. He has had a great game tonight, blocked a ton of balls, a couple hits, framing good. Keep him in there.
  13. One damn pitch away from a great sweep. Rey looked good, Gio battled through a QS today. Sox got timely hits. Liked the way they attacked the rookie pitcher today, who really had nothing to offer.
  14. LOL. Another meltdown today would have been too much. I guess the Sox have given up what...8-10 wins they had in the bag? Blew the first game today, surely didn't want to see a a repeat.
  15. It would have been completely unbelievable, but believable at the same time.
  16. Got it done. Good job Soria. Good job team. Need more of these.
  17. Count me in as a Twins hater too. Hard not to hate them when you're a Sox fan.
  18. This is a joke. Escobar is basically Ted williams
