  1. Meanwhile Blaine Hardy looks like Sandy Koufax against the Sox.
  2. You're still missing the cutoff man...now that's something I'd like you to work on for next year
  3. I love Dahl, but I consider him even more untouchable than Rodgers. Tapia wouldn't be bad and I did forget about Hoffman. Yea, I'd be fine with a Tapia/Hoffman/McMahon get. ALL 3 would be immediate starters in Chicago yet all are still young enough to be part of the growth of the team. I think in time McMahon could be an elite defender at first base and he should hit. Tapia not sure where he plays in the OF but he has talent. Hoffman would be hard to get, though he would easily replace the sinking Gio.
  4. Read a blurb on a Rockies board where they have interest in Abreau. Not that I'd be advocating moving Jose, but the Rox are a joke at 1B and they plan to get active. No question if Jose was moved there, Ryan McMahon would likely be a chip coming back. The Sox could play him at 1B or 3B. Rox have no really elite lefty pitching prospects. I am intrigued by OF Sam Hilliard, he's a bit older, but has 5 tool talent and is wrecking AA right now. He does K a lot, which worries me as you progress up the ladder. Catcher Tom Murphy is a bit "older", but is a masher for that position. He's not particularly strong defender however. I wouldn't think the Sox would move on him. Their better righty pitching specs, guys like Lambert would barely crack the Top 10 in the Sox farm at the position. So I don't see anything there. I doubt the Rox would move Brendan Rodgers, but that's the only scenario I see the Sox making such a trade. Rodgers has big time potential, as does McMahon, but both are unproven and McMahon scuffled earlier this season, though was badly handled by Black. I think the only way I'd think about moving Jose to the Rox would be for Rodgers + McMahon.
  5. The good news just keeps on coming. Looks like this crisis has been averted, but holy cow what a shitstorm of a season. I STILL believe the Sox will be a fun team in the 2nd half of this season.
  6. Gio looks like one of the worst pitchers in baseball....I hope there's hope
  7. probably a stint on the 10 day coming up
  8. Would love for the Sox to pickup Catching prospect from the Cardinals Andrew Knizner.
  9. You cant control Engel, you can only hope to contain him. Blowout city.
  10. Four wins in last 6 games. It's progress. Way to come back and get it done Nate.
  11. Rest assured that's what they are probably asking or something as obscene. I didn't say they'd get it of course.
  12. If the Sox moved for Machado, you can bet Tim Anderson would be 1 of the players going back (to replace him at SS). They would probably want two pitchers in a deal. Think Tim A + Cease + Stephens. Don't wanna do that. I am sorry this is just not the time to worry with trying to bring in one star guy. Sox will end up right back where they were a few years ago....a couple stars, and average players leading to mediocrity. Lets build the foundation THEN see if we need to add a final piece.
