  1. The good thing is Moore stinks and the Rangers stink. This game may turn into a softpitch softball type game....11-10.
  2. I despise our outfield. Delmonico needs to throw that to 2nd
  3. Kopech numbers in AAA are very concerning. He is showing very suspect command, sports a high ERA and is showing the makings of a relief pitcher to me (great arm, poor command); albeit a high leverage relief pitcher. I was really hoping moving Sale, the Sox would get a top rotation starter in return. He is still 22 so tons of developmental time left, but it's hard not to have doubts. His arm is electric and he'll have a good to great MLB career I think, it just may not be in the rotation. I don't think the Sox should bring him up until he improves his command at AAA. Poor command in the ML will end up getting him toasted, no matter how fast he throws it. These days high 90s doesn't scare hitters, especially if you can't put the pitch where you want it.
  4. Yea, it's not like the Sox have too many (quality) SPs at this point. Hilarious to consider is James Shields is the most dependable starter, no one else really is, so it's not like there shouldn't be some options to consider. I don't know anything at all about Covey just what I read.
  5. Ok---noticed Dylan Covey has been on a bit of a roll, 19 strike outs in his last 17 innings, 3 total ER in his last 4 starts. And his overall numbers in AAA thus far this year are respectable. His major league start a couple weeks ago was not bad. Is there anything there?
  6. Yea, truth is stranger than fiction. I'd have been in a shitty mood had they blown that...the fans in the yard had amazing energy. And it's good to see the Sox win, that's for damn sure.
  7. A good move, Nicky and Palka are horrendous defensive players.
  8. No doubt. But you gotta figure eventually the Sox will win one. Tonight may be the night...the fans are jacked.
  9. That was actually very poor pitching. Davidson figured out pretty quickly it was gonna be all sliders. You gotta show at least 2 pitches at this level LeClerc, unless you are Mariano. Lets get the winner here.
  10. Love that Sox fan telling everyone to stand up...10-29 or 29-10, we root root root for the home team.
  11. One of the 1 things I'm really excited about right now concerning the Sox.
  12. To soak up the sorrows of a sorry state of Sox affairs right now I took a trip down 1983 memory lane by strolling along Youtube for ole Videos. YES, that season ended with brutal disappointment, but it was still a HELL-A fun year. I remember that year because I went to see the Sox v. Baltimore in August, Friday night. It rained and rained. Finally they got it started like 2-3 hours later and RANDY MARTZ started the game (he actually pitched well). Sox lead that game the entire way and lost a 4-2 lead on something like 6 or 7 straight singles with two outs that left my idiot Oriole friend ragging me. ANYWAY, I was set to goto camp that Sunday and my mom said had the game been rained out we'd have gotten tickets to the Saturday game, instead of Martz pitching Saturday I'd have gotten to see one of the horses (Floyd, Dot, Hoyt) and of course the Sox won both Saturday and Sunday (in fact I listened to the Sunday game while driving to summer camp). I was intoxicated with the White Sox, read the American League red book from cover to cover, drank the cool aide and had so much fun, but good god Game 4 of the ALCS is a haunting horrible memory. Thank god for 2005!!!
  13. I didn't recall that about 1981, but I do know the 94 thing pissed me off. I thought that was the year the Sox would make a run, felt it. And then the entire season sent into the crapper. Unreal. I will admit I gave up baseball...didn't get back into it until the year the Sox made the playoffs and lost to Seattle, then I was back.
  14. Super. And I hope the Sox are really good when they strike. It will remind us of the 94 strike season. The Sox had a legitimate chance that year to make a run.
  15. If he has two plus pitches, then he can be a legit relief pitcher.
  16. Outfield defense miserable all year. Brain farts. Pitchers that are their own worst enemy. Fry looked very good today I thought. He may be developing into a capable piece for the pen. Leury has done well. Corner Outfield defense in these two games was fantastically brutal. The less we see of the clown shoes OF defense the better we'll be. The infield defense was actually solid in this series, save Yolmer's play today, but Yolmer hasn't played much SS that I know of, so he gets a pass. Davidson was manhandled all day by Pirates pitching. My prediction of 25-56 after 81 is actually looking very optimistic.
  17. Hey boys... at game, this sucks but the Moncada foul ball was so wonderful.
