  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 2, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) I don't think he is anything but depth He's not. Bad at LT, bad at RT. If he even makes the team it will shock. Bears are a waste, their draft was comical on every level. I read a report today Fox and Pace are at each other. I suspect Fox is out this year and then after Pace makes a bunch of other dumb draft trades and then drafts kids from WhoKnowsWhoU he'll be bounced. Tough for this Sox fan....Blackhawks too old, White Sox too young and Bears too stupid.
  2. Huge price to pay to move up 1 spot, but we'll see how it works out. Rebuilding kinda sucks....
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 06:18 PM) When do playoff tickets go on sale?
  4. I thought the Sox were supposed to be eliminated by now. LOL. They are leading the AL Central. Yea Yea I know it's probably short-lived, but that's hilarious to see, especially with NUMEROUS players on this team hitting well below their career average. Wonder if they hang around for another month?
  5. I watched a full baseball game tonight and it was good. I know the Sox are in full mode rebuild, but it's still nice to see them win.
  6. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 05:02 PM) Exactly. This team barely has any major leaguers on it as we're rebuilding lol. Yep, nature of the rebuild beast. Robertson is dealing...move him for a couple hitting prospects asap.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 04:59 PM) Sanchez just isn't a major league hitter. Insane he's gotten so many chances here How many of these guys are?
  8. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 01:12 PM) I'm actually considering buying a partial season or full season ticket to show my support for the franchise. Next year will be ugly, but it'll be worth the pain. Like this idea and maybe it will send a message that if/when these kids become players in the show we hang onto them and try to be good for more than a year or two. Sorta like what Blackhawk fans experienced after a decade of utter crap.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) someone else mentioned the sox haven't gotten any position players. I just found it odd that two posts so close together forget to mention Yoan! Fair enough...I should have responded with Yoan, but I was tackling it from Southside's perspective of having "too many pitchers", which I've NEVER EVER considered it a problem. Even if we had gotten the "pitching equivalent" of Yoan thus a -1 gain on position players I wouldn't have complained a bit. Pitching will rebuild this franchise, not only in terms of what the team fields, but also in flexibility to add necessary position pieces as the Sox draw closer to being in contention again. A rebuild does NOT go: I need X players here, X players there...a Rebuild simply improves the talent base. You get the very best talent you can, then sort it out later.
  10. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) The fact that people are complaining about Eaton for a top 5 prospect, a top 40 prospect, and a first round pick in the '16 draft is baffling to me. We are Chicago fans...b****ing is in our blood.
  11. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) Is Yoan Moncada, the #1 overall prospect in baseball, who plays 2B, dead? Last time I checked he's now a White Sox. I believe he's still alive. Dude, you don't need to argue with me about things. I love the direction. Moncada is a beast. I am 100% fine with both trades, even though I am not over the moon about players 3 and 4 we got for Sale. But 1 and 2 could be ridiculously good.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) See that's the fun part. We would need an insane amount of luck just to get the staff back to where it was, and then you still don't have any position players. That isn't helping this franchise at all. I get that and lets be clear prospects are just that...prospects. Even if they were position players. What Hahn did was get max value for Eaton and got at least equal value for Sale. True, no position prospects are really involved, but the bounty they got for Eaton was simply too good to pass up. I suspect the Sox are going to add some position players to the pipeline as well. The games are not over. Shoot, this is the most excited Ive been about the Sox in a long time and hell I loved Sale and Eaton, but we gotta rebuild this ship. I figure about the time the Blackhawks are a bottom feeder the White Sox will be back rolling. With the Bears who the hell knows about them.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:21 PM) Our direction so far is to hope that we can get to the same point that we just were. All pitching, no hitting. That is a f***ing terrible direction. If down the line the Sox have too much pitching and not enough good position players its easy to trade from a stock of pitching depth. Almost EVERYONE could use pitching. The talent haul for Eaton here is ridiculous. Get the papers signed before the Nats come to their senses.
  14. QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) While the sox need positional players, this seems like a damn good haul for Adam. Totally selling high-which the Sox haven't done for years. The Sox still have Q, Robertson, Jose, Frazier, et al to add offense. Damn right it's a good haul. Anyone saying otherwise is crazy. Two of these pitching prospects (Gio, Lopez) are big time and in looking up Dunning he's not exactly a scrub, he looks like a very nice prospect as well. This trade is amazing.
  15. Giolito and Lopez is awesome. I don't know squat about DUnning, but Gio is elite and Lopez, while probably not quite as his level, is a damn good prospect. If Dunning is ANYTHING worth mentioning I love this trade. I am actually LESS excited about the other trade w/ Sale because I am not over the moon about player 3 and 4 in that deal, though 1 and 2 could be special.
  16. Seems to be the Nationals would be a perfect team to trade with for Q and even Robertson. The Nationals have about a 2 year window to go all in, the Sox are in rebuild now. The Nats have some intriguing prospects. The Nationals are also looking to take a flier on a closer (enter Robertson)....and Q + Robertson trade for ???? I think Giolitto and Robles would be the foundation of such a trade.
  17. Enjoying the off-season so far. While last year was promising (most fun in a couple years), it still was a subpar season, Eaton, Sexy, JA and a couple pitchers only made it worthwhile... So are we looking at making a run at this thing this year? Is our full lineup ready to compete in the AL C? I think it's close, but also don't think it's there yet.
  18. Sounds like a pinch runner/utility infielder. Exciting stuff.
  19. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 03:20 AM) I know it's beating a dead horse with you but... Rios has a ton of value to other teams as well. I just saw that he hits .315 vs fastballs after hitting .361 the previous year. If you put Alex Rios in front of a really good hitter he's gonna see more fastballs and he's gonna be very productive. He would look really good in front of Beltre in Texas. At this point Dunn, while still dangerous, isn't a guy an opposing pitcher is gonna say "Oh man I better not mess around with this guy with Dunn on deck" Except no one really agrees with you who matters. The problem with Rios isn't talent or skill or whether he fits into a lineup. It's do teams vying for championships what players with such a lazy azzed disposition? When you have a player who dogs it on grounders, fly balls, throws into the infield...well, basically every aspect of an outfielders game then his value (despite talent) is such that championship teams don't want him. No wonder the Blue Jays dumped the POS.... If we get anything in the way of a prospect that breaths oxygen and isn't incarcerated for this bum I'll be shocked.
  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:22 PM) The Sox collect free-swinging, toolsy outfielders like 9 year old me collected pogs and 26 year me collects hobo's toenails. This worries me. Hockey fans will remember the Blackhawks had a 'fetish' for fleet skating, amazingly 'skilled' Russian players in the late 1990s and early 2000s...these guys turned out to be absolutely TURDS, because while they could skate well through cones and on the big euro ice against soft players, their game didn't translate here. The Hawks were a bottom feeder for years and then they eschewed that stupid philosophy and started going after guys who maybe didn't have this or that but...COULD JUST PLAY THE FREAKING GAME. The Sox have become obsessed in the toolsy player like the Hawks were obsessed with Russian tomato cans. I hope this story doesn't have 6 or 7 years of abject failure waiting in store.
  21. Lets relax. That bernie guy sucks. He doesn't know chit it appears.
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:08 PM) On its face, MAJOR FAIL. 2.5 years of Peavy possiblly for the Red Sox and they only have to give up a mediocre SS who they have no use for because their top prospect plays the same position. Makes you think we took the lesser package in order to get out of paying part of Peavy's salary. Then the White Sox are in for a long ugly run. This is a terrible trade. Absolutely brutal. I can always slap in the 2005 World Series disc if I need to...
  23. All that for that? Good god...why is it everyone else can get 3 or 4 players and a couple top specs and this is all we get? This is ridiculous.
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) Still pissed about that loved Chet! Me too man. Chet was a solid player...
